Right then, in terms of hatred, it could kick off, annoyance, irritation, they are local but we can tolerate them, were do you rate your local rivals, using this scale, I guess it can be added to any team you come up against or have a history with regardless of location.

1. Despise violence, all out hatred, would like to see them go bust
2. Some violence, hate them.
3. Hate them, but it never kicks off,
4. Don’t like them due to their fans/team
5. Annoying
6. Locals rivals who we like to beat, but no other issues.

Here are a few from a Crewe point of view, well my point of view from a Crewe point of view!

Vale would be a 2
Stoke would be a 2
Stockport would be a 2
Rochdale a 5 (sorry lads, you took the piss last season)
Manchester United a 4
Liverpool a 3
Celtic a 1
Preston a 3
Wigan a 5
Macclesfield a 6

And so on and so on….

No matter how much I despise Oxford I wouldn't want them, or any other club, to go bust.

Bristol City, as a club, I have a grudging admiration for.

Bristol Rovers are a nasty, horrible little club.

Reading are just meh.

As for other clubs they meander from meaningless to occasional irritation - yes, that's you Prot Vale!

Pigs 2 - dont want to see them go bust as the rivalry is all either of us really have to play for, knowing its highly unlikely either will ever challenge for the PL

A Crewe fan that hates Preston?

Has that ever been a thing?

No-one gives a fuck about us except Maidstone and Dover and they're so obscure as to be meaningless to us.

I've been brought up to hate Swindon, but such a ridiculously lopsided "rivalry" means nothing in reality.

It would be nice to have a proper rival, rather than resorting to manufacturing grudges against teams for some petty grievance that occurred eons ago.

Shrewsbury - We had 2 or 3 seasons of being around a level 2, now it's more like a 6.

Not intending to antagonise any Crewe fans with that score, and I'm sure the rest of the forum doesn't want this to descend into the usual ramblings between us, but my reason is simple...I don't know one single Crewe fan personally. I grew up with the Stoke rivalry in the 80's 90's. I remember our fans used to cheer when it was announced Crewe were winning at half time. A lot of our fans had a soft spot for them back then. I know some even went down to Wembley to watch them in the play off final when they went up to the Championship around 97. My view on how rivalries are judged is simply down to my age. I used to go School with loads of Vale and Stoke fans and spent a few years working amongst similar ratios too. Never had that with Crewe. It pi88es me off when we lose to them every fucking time we play them, but it's not like I dread going into work because of the abuse from them on a Monday.

Well Stones are on their way back up. could be a proper rivalry again sooner or later!

As for us (me personally, at least):

West Ham: 2
Crystal Palace: 3
Charlton: 6
Gillingham: 6

Aston Villa – deluded, arrogant fanbase who I would absolutely love to see relegated
West Brom – bit of an odd 'love-in' with them and us, probably due to our mutual dislike of Villa and Wolves.
Wolves – a more diluted, gormless version of Villa

Indifferent with Walsall and Coventry.

But we signed Joe Cole, so it doesn't matter.

You've got that one-way rivalry with Villa

You will be playing them next season if you get promoted.

Rochdale - 2: being a younger fan I've only ever experienced the Rochdale Derby as apposed to the 90's derby matches with Bolton. I dislike the majority of their benefit claiming fans and would love to see the state they are left in when Keith Hill moves on.

Bolton: 6/3: don't mind Bolton as much as Rochdale but would still love to see them get relegated so we can have a derby match with them next year.. I imagine it kicked off majorly when we used to play them back in the day, it was certainly a more intense rivalry than the one with Dale from what I've been told.

York City - 4: not much of a local rivalry as such but there has been history of violence between both sets of supporters over the years.

Shrewsbury - 2, kicked off massively back in 2012, 20+ arrests. Not kicked off since but that's down to the town being in complete lockdown, the police wising up and many Walsall drinking in either a designated pub or out of town.

Wolves - 4 probably, they don't care much for us but we don't like them, always heated when we play but they're out of our league.

Vale - 3, nowadays, used to be a right one back in the 80s proper nasty fixtures, old school vale don't like us and vice versa but it's a bit timid nowadays. Due to the years apart I guess.

Other than those three nothing else of real note, Wrexham was always tasty and has kicked off, Crewe is nothing but a local trip the same as Coventry.

You should come and work at our place where it is almost a 50-50 split between Cov and Leicester. A age thing I guess. I remember the Cov Leicester games of the early to mid-80s. They were fun

The Villa thing was funny. It was one-sided for the most part, but towards the end of our time in the PL they started to give a bit back. Blues were stuck in the Championship and in the end they got fed up of us rocking up every year trying to take liberties. They certainly took great pleasure in relegating us. I do miss those games.

I'm not from north staffs so the rivalries are a bit different for me, but I'd still like to see Stoke go bust. fuck it, I'm a prick, but so is everyone connected with that fucking piece of shit club.

Stoke - 1
Crewe - 5. I would say 6 but their fans really seem to hate Vale and after a while it does grind you down - being told you're scum by someone you don't have a prob with. Was kinda fond of them in the mid to lat 90s.

I dont understand the people saying 1, part of the fun of football is having a fierce rival, is it not? So why would you want then to go bust?
