Against Brighton in there 1-0 win over bank holiday.

3 point deduction on the cards?

Could be a lifeline for Millwall & Wigan!

Rotherham have been deducted 3 points for this issue - as seen later in thread!

Fuck sake Rotherham.

Another 4/6 points conceded to Millwall again next season then!

Wouldn't it technically also mean Blackpool are unrelegated for now?

I can't see it. No way the FA would be that kind to us!

Shitpool were given a £30k fine, should be the same punishment here

Blackpool lost the game and thus weren't deducted any points.
Every other example I can find of this offence where the team in question won, 3 points were deducted. Will be interesting to see what the FA do.

It has to be a points deduction, the precedent is there. From what I can see the ineligible player has to have had a material effect on the outcome. He was voted man of the match but, more importantly, he played the entire 90 mins.

Tomorrow's game is potentially massive for both sides now. Win for either side, and Rotherham fail to beat Fulham, and they're only one or two points clear of the relegation zone. We have a game in hand on them too, albeit with a tougher run in.

Wouldn't expect any less from a side managed by Evans. :animatedf:

Ah, I missed the part which said they won, so yeah, fair enough

I agree, the punishment for ineligible players tends to depend on the outcome. Fine if you lost, points deduction/ kicked out of the Cup if you won. He played 90 minutes, it must surely be a points deduction. Tomorrow is huge now. I was already thinking both Wigan and Millwall are probably still gone even with a win, but now, not necessarily. They have to show some balls here.

Steve Evans must be going even madder than usual!

They seem to have so many players coming and going they probably forgot who was allowed to play!

Will certainly make things just that bit more interesting at bottom of championship if do get the expected 3 point deduction.

Still think they will stay up but just made the job that bit harder.

Hoping Rotherham go down instead of millwall anyway, rather play the latter next season

Unless your Chesterfield. They get to replay Cup games after fielding ineligible players.

West Ham did it against us in the Cup and only got a bastard fine - rather that than to replay the fixture although.

Rawson has been getting rave reviews for them, and 'won' man of the match in a number of games (including this one I believe), so they've got to have the points deducted surely?

Just the win would result in the deduction normally, so if he's been such a big player for them then...

EDIT: Wonder if this means we get him back now? Or can it/has it been extended? With our injuries, we need another defender in!
