Hoping we can keep James NeymarMessiWilson quiet or it could be a long afternoon down in Burslem

Its the second of 3 tricky looking games for us, and I doubt many of us are expecting much other than hoping it's a good game

It’s going to be a tough one, no league game at home is unwinnable though so need to be positive without being too open. If our midfield is like it was yesterday Bannan will have a stroll in the park. Walker has to come in for this one.

If we can get a point I’d be delighted but if we lose it’s meh I guess. Their squad should win most games in this league and it’s not the games that will determine our season.

I know early doors they were struggling defending crosses so not sure if that’s still the case but if so may give us some joy with Ellis in the air but it’s more the other end im worried about!

Just need a performance more than anything after yesterday and if we do the basics right and be competitive you just never know I guess.

It’s a fixture that brings back some decent memories, we’ve had a decent record in recent times with 3 wins from 5.

Just remember their fans battering Adrian Littlejohn home and away and him blasting in stunners in both those games to silence them! And of course the bizarre Francis Jeffers incident on Tommy Fraser in the cup tie!

Been a good few years though since we’ve met and hopefully a decent atmosphere. Should be another 10k plus attendance which is positive.

Our track record in recent times, even when we've been playing well, against bottom-of-the-league teams has been dire. Being thrashed convincingly and skifully by Southend during the COVID season a particular lowlight. That bizarre 5-5 draw with Oldham a real curio more recently. And tedious 0-0 draws (home and away) against the Stevenage team that was in all senses abysmal and only survived because of Macc's destructive owner, a couple of years earlier.

So....now we are not playing well, are beset by injuries and have a manager who is completely out of his depth, it appears....maybe we'll win? Nah, can't see it. Maybe we're score a goal at least? Not sure I'd even bet on that at this stage.

Burton v Us. What an advert for League 1 football that will be. Holy shit.

We haven’t played Burton since we were both in the Conference, but it’s quite likely we’ll be seeing a lot more of them over the next couple of seasons I suspect.

There should be goals though, this will be the 92nd v 91st worst defensive records in the top 4 divisions facing off…

Last time we played Derby was 29 years ago. Appreciate FGR can beat that but it’s been some time.

Derby’s form is a bit all over the place which I guess is to be expected given the circumstances. Warne joining will of course be a boost/possible new manager bounce etc. And we’re barely drawing any this season and winning almost as many as we’re losing so who knows which version we’ll get.

So I’ll go for 0-0.

I see a stuffing incoming for us and of all the teams in League one it's going to be dished out by Peterborough. I feel a little sick. I'm going to have to be well and truely plastered to get through it.

If we lose this game, do you see Vince letting the hapless Burchnall go?

I remember the Francis Jeffers incident, it was mental. Didn't they put him on the transfer list the day after?

I will have a strong drink before the game and after it. Think it will be needed as it will be a war of attrition. And shit quality too.

I actually think we might win. We have been playing better since hasselbank left. So I say 3-2 win.

Bristol Rovers at home. I imagine it’ll be a 7k plus crowd and we’ve beaten the other two promoted L2 teams 4-0…so only one score line this weekend, surely?!

We’re somewhat of a bogey team for Argyle, and the fact that they choked horrifically at the end of last season to confirm our playoff spot probably didn’t help.

However, all that may end on Saturday. We’re on a poor run of form and it’s a good time to play us, and we simply haven’t shown the quality to compete with the top teams so far.

That said, Garath McCleary returns after a three-match ban, so at least we’re nearing full strength - but we’ll have to be at our best to get anything from this.

We very rarely get any sort of result at Wycombe. Hopefully this season is different.

Yeah I think so, was hilarious as he nutted Fraser in the face and split his own head open doing so! Kris Taylor scored an absolute stunner as we knocked both Sheffield clubs out to set up a dream tie away to er… Scunthorpe!

If we get any points against Wycombe this season then something special might truly be happening. Have we ever beaten them under Ainsworth? Proper bogey side.

We're so difficult to predict We're not even in the form table

Should win this, but Barton will be 'up for it' and we should have beaten Burton so...

We did in 2015, beat them 2-1 at their place. The second goal came off Jake Jervis arse and went in

Wednesday should beat us easily really. They're spending daft amounts on player wages at this level and they should stroll the league. It's embarrassing that they're at this level at all in honesty.

We just need to try and give them a game to regain some confidence. This few weeks was always going to be tricky and if we can pick up the odd point here or there it will give us a good base for some kinder fixtures.

Daft amounts? Are you privy to our wages or just assuming as you do quite often?

Will be interesting to see how well Bristol Rovers cope with Brown and Nombe, our tactic of giving them loads of space and passing the ball straight to them didn't work particularly well so maybe Barton will adopt a different approach.

Who knows which Lincoln will turn up - the one who beat Derby, Bristol Rovers, Oxford and drew at Portsmouth or the annoyingly passive ones that resulted in a capitulation at Posh, didn't bother turning up at Cambridge and surrendered a two goal lead against Fleetwood?

It is widely reported you have at least one player on over 20K per week is it not?

Who is on over 20k?

If the 'widely reported' bollocks refers to Bannan then it is exactly that, bollocks, based on his tweet to fans last season.

Nope, that's pretty much what we have been doing lately!! We are a shadow of the team that got us promoted

Whether its over or just under what LV says is pretty spot on, you'll have players on probably average wages 4 or 5 times ours so will expect to beat us and should be walking the league.

Its not a dig specifically at Sheffield Wednesday, there is some bonkers spending in the third tier (Ipswich spending £1 million on a left back for instance) but that's a football problem than one of any club.

Clubs who spend big money always seem to get defensive over it for some reason but the reason clubs will get promoted this season will almost certainly be down to spending more money. That's the food chain in football and the same in most leagues (bar Sal£ord of course!)
