We’ve an awful record against those lickle devils!

Have a feeling it’ll continue tomorrow.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Matty Platt
CB: Romoney Critchlow
LB: Matty Foulds

CM: Alex Gilliead
CM: Ritchie Smallwood

RW: Dion Pereira
CAM: Harry Chapman
LW: Tyreik Wright

ST: Andy Cook

It’ll be nice to absolutely wallop someone for a change, but I can see us losing this 2-1.

Defeat, if Grimsby have any meaty CB’s get on them to score at any time, keeper is hopeless at corners.

Tranmere away.

This game has come at completely the wrong time for us. We have 9 out injured plus 2 suspended. A lot of them key players too. Add that to the fact that we’re coming into this off 3 successive defeats, it’s really not ideal. It would be a tough game in any circumstance, but attempting to get 3 points on Saturday is going to be like climbing Everest in a pair of slippers.

Absolutely no idea how we’re even going to put a team out. There are certain positions where we simply don’t have any available players. Not really looking forward to the trip down to this. Hopefully the weather isn’t too shit to go with the shit performance and result.

Prediction: Tranmere 4-0 Carlisle

Crewe seem a bit inconsistent, and another where comments suggest they are playing good football one minute and turgid football the next. Most draws in the league though, so is that likely to be the game plan?

Tuesday's game was more like what we saw at the start of the season and I'm feeling confident about this one. Think we will edge it.

So is the defence. If they've still got that long throw lad they had in the play offs he'll cause mayhem.

Another away game against a promotion contender in Mansfield. We have a half decent record against them if that makes much difference.

Really good 2nd half performance v Bradford on Tuesday will do again nicely if we are to come away with something.

They don’t seem in the best of form atm so I’m quietly confident of getting something.

Should be close to 1000 Town fans there to witness another decent game.

Aye the defence is useless, but I feel like Killip gets way too much leeway from fans, how many times has he completely flapped at crosses and missed already this season, the sort of bread and butter crosses that any semi competent keeper would lap up.

As a unit, they are suicidal.

To continue the theme of everybody being negative based on who they're playing due to past games, we're playing Sutton.

We've played them 4 times in our history, never won against them and scored one goal in all 4 games.

Nerdford at home, our only win against them was ironically when Wellens was their manager in Jan 2021.

Hopefully Geroge Moncur and Idris El Mizouni will be fit to start, both were missing Tuesday. We'll need them against one of the leagues stronger sides, so I'd expect some more squad rotation from ourselves.

Won 2 games this week, so a draw won't be a disaster if it happened, a loss would be disappointing but not unexpected given the amount of games we've had recently.

This will be our last home game until 3rd December unless we get through or get a replay in the cup. Next up we have 4 successive away games including our game in hand.

I fancy us to continue our fine away form ubder JB and generally good record at Walsall. 2-1 win. Hendo to get the goal he needs to become top goalscorer for the club. My first away game since Gills earlier in the season so I'm looking forward to this.

Bradford away.

To be honest I think we have a mid table squad but our forward line is capable of creating havoc....and being totally powderpuff.

Since Betsy left we have improved a lot but a team made up of the players at Bradford should beat us. Team spirit can mean a lot though.

Swindon should definitely be confident, in our last 5 games at best our performances have been average and poor on quite a few occasions, along with enough injuries which mean our LB is probably going to be a striker, our RB could be a centre midfielder and it’s even possible once again our sole centre forward on the day will be a donkey.

*Maybe we will get some players back Saturday but I’m not sure yet.

Waterfall is about as meaty as CBs come, also due a goal.

Yep Cropper is still here and started for the first time in ages on Saturday as The Rubbish Glennon was out, him and Alex Hunt who can ping in a ball from corners.

This is the type of match I approach with trepidation though. The hopelessness of a crap run ends at some point and you'll put in a good performance soon so why not on Saturday? Gillingham came to us in terrible form and should have beaten us.

The problem won't be so much the starting 11. The problems will start if / when we need to switch it up during the game. The bench is going to look extremely weak and inexperienced.

Stretton should be ready to start which will be an improvement on Tuesdays team. Huntington possibly back in. Ellis is an option. We could even move Mellish / Whelan into midfield in place of Gibson, though not personally a fan of that.

Holy
Back, Feeney, Huntington, Mellish, Armer
Guy, Whelan, Moxon
Stretton, Dennis

Or Ellis instead of Huntington if he's not ready and play Feeney in the middle of the 3.

Think it's best to keep Harris on the bench. He had a nightmare on Tuesday (not all his fault) and starting another tough away game is probably not ideal for him.

Expecting a narrow loss but I'll be going there optimistic that we can pull something out of the bag.

Out of the last 8 league goals we’ve conceded,Killip should have saved at least 5 of them, his attempt to stop Salfords first, was especially pathetic.
I‘m giving it a miss tomorrow ,even thought I’ve got a ST,I just can’t be arsed anymore.

Aye, he done his usual, half comes, half stays, flaps a pair of weak wrists in the balls general direction, misses it, they score and he angrily shouts at the sky looking for someone else to blame, every fucking time.

If we go 1-0 down it’ll then be how many Grimsby want to win by, I’m going but am I fuck looking forward to it.

it’s an odd one entertaining swindon tomorrow, it’s quite the paradox with mansfield currently.

The performance against newport was one of the worst i’ve seen in years (on ifollow mind) clough had players playing in about 4 different formations, 7 different tactics etc etc - we had 3 forwards in defence but had a “footballer” (sadly he’s lost it) in akins about 30 yards infront of a midfield where you had 2 CMs on the wing. it follows other ridiculous tactics at home to carlisle the other week.

Yet we’re 5th, we’re unbeaten at home, we’ve lost 1 at home in the last calendar year, we’ve lost 1 in the last 8.

play tomorrow like we did tuesday and we will lose.

Harris had a nightmare on Tuesday because he was playing out of position. He was playing in an advanced wide role. He looked like a fish out of water but to be fair his team mates weren’t much better. Square pegs in round holes because our squad is so light at the moment. I’d rather he started in midfield than Whelan or Mellish.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t risk Huntington. The last timing we need is his injury turning into something long term.

We are consistent. Consistently dull. Our only real goal threat Baker-Richardson looks like he's out injured aswell. Either 0-0 or Barrow will nick it 1-0, probably Billy Waters as he likes scoring vs us.

That's why I said it wasn't all his own fault in brackets.

He may well start. He is a proper central midfielder after all unlike Mellish and Whelan. Maybe he's thick skinned and full of confidence in his own ability, in which case throw him back in. Only Simpson and Harris know if he's got the character to bounce back.

I'd be mighty impressed if he plays and pulls out a decent performance for a player lacking in football league experience.

A repeat performance and it could be the end of him. Tough call.

If Huntington is 50/50 then I would opt to rest him.

The concern for me is the bench, the starting eleven is more than adequate.

Our discussion shows that even given our threadbare squad there's still options available. It's not quite the forfeit the three points now disaster you'd like to claim.

Rovers home to Carlisle. There is a residual anger from the events of last season's game, which effectively ended our season. Paul Simpson made some remarks after that game, which rankled at the time and rather than letting it go, he has reprised them in his pre-match interview. While I can't assess the merits of his criticism of our stewards, any manager of his experience should understand the levels of emotion likely to be released as a result of what was happening on the pitch. In all the circumstances, our supporters were fairly restrained.

Until Breakspear catapulted himself to the top of the referees to avoid list, with last season's masterclass in ineptitude and inconsistency, the table topper had been Carl Boyeson. A clueless individual, who hadn't seen Rovers get a point in any game he was in charge of, for around a decade, until a draw at Bradford last season. I fear the start of another such grim run...

On paper, this should be 3 points for Rovers, given the visitor's absence list. However, we've been unable to convert our possession into goals and one or two cracks appearing in what had been a decent defence. Any result is possible.

It’s the most likely 0-0 or 1-1 game of the weekend, we specialise in binary results.

But if I did have to pick a winner I’d fancy you lot much more than us
