Newport deserved to win that by a mile, but somehow we burgled a point with a cracking finish from Hoskins in the 92nd minute. Be looking forward to a week off as we’re absolutely gassed atm.

Swindon are a good side and we’ve defended poorly so I cannot pretend we are worthy of anything but I’ve got to discuss a major and minor detail, the latter being the Swindon players utterly pointless diving and theatrical acting, at one point in the second half Willams (who has been superb) pretended to be injured, jumped up to push our player then went straight back down pretending to be injured again.

The major detail is that was genuinely one of the most embarrassing one sided bias refereeing performances I can recall for a long, long time, I assure you lot supporting other L2 clubs that if that was your team today you’d be frothing at the mouth, never seen owt so obviously bias towards one side and I hope something can be done about it.

I’m not going to make out he cost us the game though, we set up wrong and defended poorly. The game was ultimately won and lost in the first five minutes of the second half, we had two chances and it was criminal not to score either, Swindon obviously went and scored instantly after to make it 3-2 and never looked back.

Mansfield discipline poor all afternoon. We've taken advantage and then some.
Spot on. Very petulant by a lot of their players and if the ref was to have dished out yellows for all the dissent they would have been down to 8. Lost their heads for a while in the 2nd half. Even against 10 we still looked feeble at the back at times but if that’s the price we pay for being scintillating going forward then I’m all for it.

Well fuck me we've won. We might be dogshit but we stuck at it and let's be honest it is a really massive three points

Grimsby will be disappointed they didn't get a second, that would've killed it off but their defence turned into Murray & Lacey thankfully. Really happy for Ferguson getting those assists, he's had a terrible season but hopefully he can kick on and play somewhere near what he is capable of.

Big win for us that, possibly our best performance of the season over 90 minutes, we looked dangerous every time we had the ball and completely nullified a very average $alford team.
3 league wins in a week, exactly what we needed after a mini blip and heading into a November bereft of home games.
Still, top of the league, 39 points from 16 games and with a game in hand on the 3 teams directly below us, so far so good.

Simmonds and People are pure shite. I'm bowled over how PH consistently overlooks Wearne and Orsi for these two. I'm convinced Luton have written something into the McAtee deal about the amount of minutes Pepple must get. I know he said Wearne is a consistency thing but he's a much better player than both of those two as is Orsi from what I've seen.

Fair play Hartlepool, hopefully you can kick on now and move out of trouble.

No, the referee did not affect the scoreline, Swindon were better on the day, but the referee was a joke. Not difficult is it. No excuses for defending badly, and like I said Swindon are a good team but it’s up to you to ignore what ya want to suit shag.

Easiest three points we will have all season. I was actually a bit disappointed after we went 1-0 up as we lacked a bit of urgency, Crewe had two glorious chances inside the six yard box and missed the target on both. Even then, 2-0 at half time was far from unjust, and really should have been more. Second half was a stop start event with very little happening apart from our third after Gordon robbed their last defender and slotted home.

Fear for Crewe on that showing, the poorest opposition I've seen so far and they're getting dragged towards that bottom six.

We've certainly played better and won by less, but we look more like the team of early season.

Grimsby were just so negative and chucked the points away, we were there for the taking first half, stink the house down stuff, much better second half performance though and dare I say it, the two CB’s were solid as today never put a foot wrong.

They didn't have enough up top to trouble them really.

1-1 draw at Colchester today. Difficult to sum up after watching that, we had more than enough opportunities to win the game but I didn't really feel like we played well enough to merit the win.

First half we fell behind with the first attack of the game, Colchester pressured us, eventually Roberts had a chance to clear, swung a leg at it and totally missed, allowed a Colchester player to poke the ball to Marshall-Miranda who smashed it into the top corner. We equalised pretty quickly after that, Clark with a ball in behind the defence that Roberts ran on to, his pull back was headed home by Rose off the crossbar (I think) to make it 1-1. After that we had efforts through Norris, Rose and Reeves but nothing too special, the closest to we came to another first half goal was a Norris cross come shot that deflected on to the crossbar.

Second half we had a couple of half chances from open play but nothing to write home about, our biggest threats were from set plays, Piergianni powered a header over the bar, had another effort deflected on to the post and with the last kick of the game, a partially cleared free kick sat up well for Gilbey whose effort from range was just over the bar. Colchester probably had their best spell of the game for a 10-15 minute period after their triple sub. The went close with a couple of efforts, there was a Judge free kick that wasn't too far from troubling the keeper and Chesters (I think) had an effort just over the bar after a good dink into the box by Judge.

We definitely had the weight of opportunities but didn't do enough in open play, particularly second half, to find a winner.

Unbelievable effort that. Despite all the problems, what a determined performance.

I thought Tranmere came into it towards half time, so was expecting the kitchen sink second half. But it didn’t come. So comfortable.

I don’t know how we can go from that half arsed disjointed shit show on Tuesday, to that in the space of 4 days. But it was brilliant. With one fully fit striker.

We’ve had better more pleasing on the eye performances, but taking all the absentees into account, I put that as best win of the season.

I'm the first to give them grief and I don't think either of them are good enough but credit where it's due, Taylor is a handful and they both performed very well today.

Agreed, Hurst has got most things tactically right this season but today he got it badly wrong, 1-0 up against a team with zero confidence and goes full on negative trying to see out the 1-0.
Shite.

Yeah, Hurst got it wrong today for sure. No idea why he thought going 3 CBs at the back was a good idea. The way we play means we're often at the peril of fine margins and today we were on the wrong side of them. I don't know what's more frustrating, that we didn't finish you off or that we didn't see it out. The former you'd perhaps expect but the latter has been our bread and butter at times. If we lose the ability to see matches on the road out then we'll be tumbling down the table as it stands. Hopefully today and Tuesday were just bad performances. No league matches for a while now and then we'll be looking at a packed out BP vs Donny when we do resume so I'm hoping that we can regain those energy levels we saw vs Bradford as we've been way off the pace these last two matches.

Grimsby will be kicking themselves throwing that away, we were truly awful yet again but because they didn’t put the game to bed and were so negative it allowed us to stay in the game.

Over the moon with that after some of the time wasting, particularly from their keeper.

Phillips and livesey saw it as Charters should have taken the shot himself or at least played it to Stretton earlier
Charters did take the shot on himself. Perhaps it was my view from the other end of the pitch that made it look like a sitter. Looked like he was clean through, only the keeper to beat, but scuffed it straight at him before Stretton put in the rebound.

When you've had the start we've had you'd take a point at Bradford all day long.

It will be interesting to hear the views of those that were there (I took the opportunity to get some money in the bank from my better half by going shopping [shudder!]).

I see the depleted Carlisle youth team are putting up a brave effort in their bid for survival, must be like the Spartan 300 in front of their goal to have a clean sheet.
I now have an image of HG with his spear and shield shouting “I am Sparta.” Thanks for that :)

Yeah you threw that away really but it's a nice brotherly touch to let us have the points, you can take the brother out of the hood but not the hood out of the brother or some bollocks like that.

You had the better of the first, although we missed an absolute sitter after a minute. We had the better of the second and I didn’t think you looked like scoring before we absolutely gifted you a free kick which was well taken tbf. I think a point was about right, wasn’t a classic you didn’t miss much.

Menayese goes straight back in when or if he's ever fit. Really surprised they didn't bring on that long throw merchant but it just sums up their approach to the second half.
