I wear Stone Island from time to time, and I don’t act like a nob.

After 2 draws and decent defensive performances (apart from the gaffe against dale), mansfield would look at barrow and rhino 3 points is possible (barrow will no doubt think the same)

Cucumber sandwich?

Won't somebody please think of the insects.
I'd be more concerned about the CO2 cucumbers cause thanks to countries like Austria, than their impact on insects - They're pretty good as long as you don't use pesticides on them as far as veggies go.

Can we drop this trolling now, it's tiresome and repetitive. Every post I make you try to be funny and get a reaction, and it's genuinely boring now. Maybe slightly funny the first time, now it's just old and boring.

Are you sure?

Tbh it’s probably just overall standards have dropped to the point that relatively speaking I’m not…

Need an absolute miracle to get anything on Saturday. We’ve been absolutely terrible for over a month now and seem to be getting worse by the week.

Hope/expect Beech to ring the changes and it might see a bit of fight, but it’ll be a bridge too far and Forest Green will win 3-0.

We won’t turn this poor form round until we change manager.

There’s only 1 game this weekend Rovers v Swindon.

The rest of you tinpotters sort yourself out and let us fallen pygmies get on with it.

Hope Mr Garner bring a 2nd pair of kecks. He will need them with the welcome he will get.
Probably not far off the stick Matty Taylor normally receives given how he set us up for failure last season.

Thought you’d still be baying for Barton to go seeing as he’s your worst manager - ever.

No reason why we cant do both - standing behind the dugouts will be fun.
What you say is statistically true, although Garner did take us down from the top of L1 to relegation favourites before Covid saved him.
Barton has been hindered by the contracts given out by Garner that we either had to pay off or he is still stuck with. Yes Barton has been shocking, but it all stems from Garner.

Barton has his own squad now. Can’t blame that on Garner.

Horses for courses. He’s doing an OK job for us. No more than that.

Wasn't Tisdale after Garner? And Barton blames them both, of course its anyone's fault but Joey

Tbh, they’ve had a succession of poor appointments. I tend to blame ‘behind the scenes’ more than any individual manager. Something’s not right there.

Tisdale had at least the January transfer window and only signed a RB and replacement GK.
Barton had to try and get a song from both their signings so I don't really blame Barton for last season. Garner 80% and Tisdale 20% blame.
How many clubs sack their managers twice in 1 season and stay up?
Relegation has meant reducing the wage bill significantly and Bartons targets have turned us down for L1 sides, so his predecessors actions (or lack of) have impacted him this season as well.
I said id give Barton until Nov and see where we are but there has been little improvement so far - we have injuries but doesnt everyone!

That’s a really piss poor excuse for Barton. We’ve nearly been wiped out, presume Cobblers have had to cut their budget, Rochdale have been in a similar ownership wrangle as us.

Season aint over yet, plenty of time to improve
We beat Blackpool in Jnauary this year and some of their fans were calling for their managers head. Now they are in the Champ.
The beauty of L2 is that you can be crap for a large part of the season and still sneak in the pray offs. We know as we did it before.

Bolton were terrible up until about January last season. We gave them a spanking at their place.

That’s fair comment, but we’re discussing the here and now, not what may happen. 2 of the 3 other relegated clubs had far worse problems than Barton had to deal with. Blaming previous managers is a weasel way to deflect blame.

Nothing against Rovers, but I hope Garner stuffs it right up Barton's arse.

We’ve got 50 Afghans who’ve recently fled Kabul invited to the game Saturday. Good from the club.

(I’ve already done the ‘they’ll be wishing they stayed in Kabul after that’ gags though lads x)

I remember 2006/07 as if it were yesterday. We had an even worse start than you. We won just 5 of the first 17 game and headed into November in 17th. We then trailed at Accrington with 20 minutes left in our next fixture, and Danny Wilson was under real pressure from the fans. Then Stanley's Jay Harris got himself sent off, we turned it around with two great goals, and then something just clicked. We won the next eight games without conceding a goal, and by the time our extraordinary unbeaten run (19-4-0) came to an end almost five months later, we had gone eight points clear at the top. We eventually fell short after a disastrous penultimate match at Rochdale, losing the services of Nelson (injury), Monkhouse and Barker (both red cards) for the last game against Rovers. Gas had been busy performing their own more low-key surge up the table and had the chance to grab a playoff chance by beating us. We in turn could still win the league by bettering Walsall's result. They only drew; we lost having led. Gas joined us in League One via the playoffs.

I've seen it happen the other way too. We had a season in 92/93 when we were 4th top in January and 4th bottom in April, having set a football league record for a goal drought (13 games, over 20 hours), before recovering to stay up.

League tables in September do not have a great deal of value. They're a form guide, no more.

We tend to do alright at VP then lose to Bradford at home.
I’ve just had a look on Bradford’s forum. Blimey that’s doom and gloom! The last 2 sides we’ve faced in Mansfield and Oldham were according to their own fans’ bound to lose to us… we got 1 point. So cue a loss on Sat!

Odd season that, think we were 16th with no signs of any quality at all with 9 games to go. Then we won them all and got promoted. Classic L2.

I also don’t blame last season on Barton, but I do for this season, no excuses. And tbf to him, he accepts this season is on him
