How's the Orient #7 not been booked there? You can't stand in front of a free kick? Arrrgh get to fuck Taylor getting booked as I write that for trying to block a kick from the keeper. One of them this match. Orient have had all the key decisions. Played better than us? Yep. Got all the decisions? Also yep. And that always helps.

Utter mind numbing wank. It’s hard to describe how absolutely shite we’ve ‘played’.

One of those painfully annoying defeats against tinpot opposition with only ourselves to blame.

First half Salford basically attacked us twice, both to be fair were good finishes but all started from really poor mistakes, after that we did improve but we just lacked any quality in front of goal so got exactly what we deserved. Very sluggish start to the season and I’m particularly disappointed in Clough, who for some reason decided to play probably the best left sided full back in the division at CB for the first time in his career. He can be a proper weirdo to accommodate his favourites at times.

He also played Bowery (a striker) in three different positions today - all defensive including CB! Clough just needs to players in their natural position, I think the manager cost us the game today, but it’s only the opener so we move on.

I fully expected to still be in the National League this season so an opening day defeat at a good Orient side I’m happy to take.

How in the actual fuck have you got a corner there? @Orient fans? Archibald had a shot that went wide  Not even challenged by a Town defender. Not saved. It went wide. Corner. Ridiculous.

Absolutely dismal, we were so bad it was an embarrassment to the shirt.

They all look like Scots lower players especially Tumilty who was way out of his depth and Euan Murray really poor.

The system was all over the place, no cohesion, fitness, desire or ability.

One of the most inept displays I've ever seen it can only improve from here, it has to.

23 shots to 6.

8 to 0 on target

But we won the possession stat. (34% to 66%) and I'm told that really determines how well you're doing.

kewellball Betsyball alive and well.

phew - made hard work - but got the 3 points. at 3-2 in the 92nd min the ref gave a pen to Stockport for a foul on Quigley, but Quigley was flagged offside by the lino, so we got repreaved. Still 3 points away at Stockport is something not many teams will get once they gel a bit more.

Well done Barrow. Very clinical on the break and as expected playing the right way under Wild.

The worries I had about us were exposed. Tactically DC got it wrong as he played all three of our attacking midfielders and left us unbalanced and left our defence unprotected.

Before today I said we needed a couple of side CBs and an extra striker and I’m now utterly convinced we do.

Should have been a 1-0 defeat that. Orient much better than us over the course of the second half. But they weren't half given a massive nudge by the ref. Absolutely unreal winner though. We didn't react at all which is worrying and I think several players in our side need to be having a word with themselves. The CM trio you could tell hadn't worked well together. We looked toothless, which is a product of having not signed a #9 again and having wingers out injured. Again. Clifton out of his depth too. But credit to Orient as they dominated and looked good in the second half.

What a great and unexpected win. That second half was always going to be uncomfortable though.

47 points to go.

Thought we pretty much matched Orient after a slow start in the first half, certainly had the better chances, especially Efete who should have scored.

Second half was a very harsh penalty and a wonder goal a few minutes later killed us off and we never looked like getting back in with Orient controlling the game very well. As for the ref, looks like despite going up a league the refs haven't, anyone know why both McAtee and Taylor were booked?

Looks like its going to be very similar to last season as we haven't solved our biggest weakness which is where are the goals coming from? We're not playing the dog and duck most weeks this year so it could be a long season if we keep missing chances.

Pleased with that Johnson looks like the striker we have needed for 3 years.

Didn’t beat our 80% 22 shots and just 2 on target…

I think the polite word for Colchester is obdurate. Less polite would be time wasting injury feigning wankers. Last season struggled to break teams down and win points when games are petering out to draws so a big tick in the box early doors.

However, we’re clearly a tough place to come first up so can see why they wanted a point.

The referee was absolute tripe in his first EFL game, if you get him good luck.

2-1 away win to start the season, pretty happy with that. Scrappy game, deserved the lead at half time, more of an even contest second half. Our direct play seemed to cause Tranmere issues, set plays also. Managed the game really well after the late goal. Only disappointment is the injury to List, hope it's not too bad but didn't look promising.

Used to playing in a back four or on occasion when Torquay did play a back three he played in the centre.

It’s looking a very dodgy decision to let Keane go without first making sure Lewis could actually play in a position he’s never played before.

We've seen that script before. All of the ball but final ball not good enough against a team playing for a point from the first minute. Very clearly a team who are still gelling as it was far from free flowing and too static even against eleven men.

Donny were dreadful, even before the red. I've seen some anti football in my time at VP but that was up there.

It won't improve because you're Hartlepool United and you're always going to be L2 whipping boys.

Be very interested to see that decision back along with another penalty claim we had.

But we’ve got to look at ourselves before the ref.
