Yeah, he'll be in league 1 next year irrespective of whether we are or not.

Bizarre bit of play from us, where our defender squeezed the ball between his knees and bunny hopped out of the area. Vale's staff quite fairly having a whinge, and getting booked for the privilege

When the ref was just wandering over to Mills after that foul don’t think I was the only Vale fan hoping for a red card.

Not really offered much at all second half. Tranmere good value for what’s going to be a very comfortable win.

Been watching Rovers for long enough to know it's not over until it's over!

Piss poor. Cambridge haven't even had to work for this.

Possibly the most demoralising result of the season even though there's been worse results.

All these signings improved us on paper but on the pitch we are as bad as ever.

Looking at the table as things stand I've decided it's Southend, Grimsby, Stevenage and Barrow. Bradford and Bolton have a ten point cushion and two games in hand, they've strengthened in January and look much better than relegation.

Port Vale do look bad enough and have played more games, but there's no way Grimsby and Southend are closing an 11 point gap. Vale are currently on 32 points and Grimsby and Southend may well not even reach that.

Barrow and Stevenage probably enough about them not to be caught by the bottom two.

So what we’ve learned is we are ok against Grimsby and Southend but put us against an opponent with a pulse and fall to pieces defensively.

3-1 defeat and its only because of Brown they didn’t have a few more. Swan looked ok when he came on at least. Guthrie largely innocuous and defensively just shambolic.

Fair play to Tranmere though they look a good team.

We won't catch Stevenage. Between us, Grimsby and Barrow.

I'll never understand how a lethal strikeforce of James Hanson and Lennell John-Lewis can't break a team with 10 men down

Weak as piss defeat where again an opponent has had to do nothing but the basics to comfortably beat us.

Error after error at the back and it’s killing us and why there is still a real chance of relegation. You can’t give away the goals we are an expect to not be relegated.

Third goal I’ve no idea what Brown is doing. Expected it but fuck sake it’s frustrating week in week out.

Just wanted Mills to two foot someone and get a red.

Two hours of my life I won’t get back and Christ some of the worst commentary I’ve ever had to listen to. IFollow should refund us Vale fans for that especially when our team were commentating for the radio from a studio!

Back to the drawing board.

Well that was entirely predictable. Cambridge were very good, but we were a mess - summed up by a player coming on five minutes before the break and then being subbed off at half-time.

Up into the Autos we go! Some form we’re in at the moment and our next two games are against Stevenage and Grimsby.

I thought we fully deserved the win. Vale were solid in the first half but never troubled us in the second whereas we could have added another one or two to the scoreline were it not for the keeper.

Some of our wins in this run have been unconvincing but today’s game and the win away at Morecambe were very impressive. We’ve got a brilliant squad, a great manager and things are looking very good for us.

All the best to Vale for the rest of the season

So gave away a poor goal which started from a poor back pass.

From then Newport just managed the game with 10 men behind the ball and we couldn't break them down.

Not really a shock, but the performance was decentish, shame it's coming too late in the season with us too far down to save us.

We were terrific first half, then second half against 10 men back to utter dross.
It seems like we’re only capable of playing for 45 minutes which is I guess is an improvement but just not gonna good enough to keep us up.
Felt hugely encouraged at half time but now back to that usual Saturday sinking feeling of deflation.

For what it's worth, I didn't think you were completely terrible. We'll know we've been in a game tomorrow morning. You did look dangerous at times, and there are at least two teams worse than you... you're safe this year at least!

He looked so excellent he failed to score against 10 men, that is truly excellence.

Probably the boringest game of the season on show at Brisbane Road today, both sides out of form and lacking ambition, although in the second half I thought we edged it and Conor Wilkinson was dangerous.

Both sides also missed 2 sitters in the first half through Wilkinson and Nouble - both should've scored their respective headers.

4 games without a goal for ourselves - On the flipside of that we've been alot hard to beat with the additions of Adam Thompson and Nick Freeman and we have 2 clean sheets in a row which takes us to 11 for the season, which is quite good considering how we've played at times.

Why have we turned to crap?

Basically Yems has started to believe his own hype and thinks that whichever team he picks can win a game!

Harrogate got a red card. Will Smith sent off by the man in black.

Thats pretty much ninety minutes (including Tuesday) against 10 men without a shot on target! The only chances we are making are when Nichols drops deep, collects the ball and plays a midfielder through who either doesn't shoot or blazes it wide.

Its OK though. Josh and Mark Wright are getting a game.

I thought Vale were quite adventurous today and pressed us high up the pitch but we just had too much quality for them. We really are playing some lovely stuff at the moment.

An interesting week ahead with two winnable games to come.

Grimsby and Southend must be abysmal if they have less about them than Stevenage. Will find out about Barrow on Tuesday (weather permitting)

For such a straight-talking character, why is Yems happy to be part of the Mark Wright publicity stunt?

We made that look like a stroll in the park today. Hoolahan and Knoyle running the show (yes a right back) and Okedina had Quigley in his pocket all game.

What has happened to Barrow? Looked good at our place but looked Sunday league today. Mullin back amongst the goals which is important.

Tranmere starting to worry me.

Granted Platt was injured today but I don't understand why Jolley has dropped James Jones, who has been one of our better performances either side of a couples of months injury, for an unfit centre back coming back from a 12 month layoff and an unproven youth product from Burnley with no league experience.
