Y and even turn up at other local grounds as liverpool and everton did during our halcyon years.

Football now is an investment that has to be thought long and hard about, by the time you pay for a couple of pints , the game , parking, diesel and other bits you are looking at 40 quid to watch tranmere.

Luckily i work weekends so i only fork out for the occasional game.

A few years ago i had to switch jobs and was given the stark choice between third rate football at tranmere for 17 quid or first rate rugby league at st helens for 16 quid..... Guess which i chose ? It sure was not the overpaid ponces closing their eyes and hoofing it up the middle.

Now that prices have once again crept up and quality dropped another level i cannot see me going much this winter i may go to a few aways but i cannot see me even getting to prenton park.

Football must be the only business that raises its prices as business drops away.... Madness

The proper response is to offer £10 in if anybody turns up at the gate with their own City/Shuddersfield/whatever season ticket. This is seen to work well at clubs elsewhere when the bigger local team is playing away, and even just 1450 at the Shay has an appreciably better atmosphere than 1300.
Dont Gateshead arleady do this for Newcastle/Sunderland fans 3 or 4 times a season?

Announced this morning that prices have been frozen from last season. There is an added bonus that Season Ticket holders get free Club Membership, a saving of £20, which will include free entry to the first two home pre-season friendlies, team sheets texted to your mobile phone an hour before kick-off, discounted travel, priority bookings for big games and a few other benefits. The sun is shining and I am a happy Rover this morning!

We've sold over 1100 season tickets up to with a month left of the cheaper deals. Probably get up to over 2000.

We're now over the 2,000 sales mark. Our early bird offer ends at close of business today.

Just to give some prospective the cheapest ST at Derby County is £419!

£414 for Non League?

or £419 for Championship Football?

Hmmm..
Charlton dont do us any favours offering season tickets for £200 & cheap coach travel from Maidstone

What makes it even worse is a few years back they used to go round different grounds in Kent handing out flyers & telling people to come watch Charlton cos its cheaper

Charlton would moan their heads off if chelsea spurs or arsenal did it to them

There's a reason every club in Kent hates the bastards. I remember them handing out flyers at our neighbours to the north when they were in administration. Scummy little club.

2070 season tickets sold now and the early bird offer has now been extended to the end of next week so we should get a few hundred more on top of that. That's 25% up on season tickets sold last season already! It feels good to be a Wrexham fan at the moment. Trust ownership is one of the best things ever to happen to us.

25% increase is superb. Extension of the early bird will hopefully add another 150-250. We've got a huge floating support so if we're doing well we can expect 2,000+ paying on the day too.

Wrexham Supporters' Trust membership is up to 4,129 as well, which is a record high and about 1,200 up on last season.

Crikey looking at wrexhams price list whatever happened to a simple adults 5 quid conc 3
It allows them to charge £4 more for away fans for exactly the same view as home supporters and hide it behind a load of pricing category nonsense.

Isn't there a non-league day at all grounds where something like this happens already, pretty sure we do it and get fans from lots of teams attending the game. I think we might have done it during an international break, to maximise the effect.
Halifax Town Football Club does not do Non League Day.

It allows them to charge £3 more for away fans for exactly the same view as home supporters and hide it behind a load of pricing catefory nonsense.

Away fans are housed in the Yale stand where adults are charged £19 - the same as home fans - or both can buy in advance at £17.

The away fans are charged FOUR POUNDS more than the fans sat only a few yards away in the stand behind the goal. The fact that £19 is the price for that stand is irrelevant, Wrexham have it in their powers to say that the away section of that stand is £16/£17 but don't want to. I've had this argument with Wrexham fans many times and they don't see anything wrong with it, mainly because they are never put in the same situation when they visit other clubs. The league doesn't see anything wrong in it but then they've had their head in the sand over ticket prices for years. Anyway i don't go to away games at the Racecourse anymore after i discovered the difference in prices. Even buying in advance there is a £2 gap.

You're charged the same as home fans for the same stand & facilities. The opposite stand is the same price because you're getting that view too. Behind the goal is a worse view, plus the facilities are crap, hence a cheaper price. Distance is irrelevant, you sit right next to the executive seats which are £30... You charge £17 whether you sit or stand at The Shay.

There's a £4 gap in advance, as you can sit behind the goal for £13 if you get your ticket pre-match.

Well the view behind the goal is only worse if you sit directly behind the nets, sit to the side and the difference between that and being tucked in at the end of the stand along the side is negligible.
The comparison to the price of executive seats is also irrelevant as no doubt there are additional perks to sitting in there. Yes we charge the same to sit or stand, that's the way it should be at all grounds, so that fans have the choice of which they want without being hit in the pocket for it. Our set up is the rule rather than the exception.
As for your final point only home supporters can get an advance ticket for £13 as that section is not available to away supporters. My issue is not the price, it is the principle. If away fans were put behind the goal and charged £19 same as everywhere else I wouldn't have an issue (aside from £19 for non-league football being bloody steep). The simle fact is I am an advocate that ALL football clubs regardless of their position in the pyramid should be made to offer visiting fans the same cheapest adult and concession tickets regardless of the area they sit/stand. Wrexham are (at least as i have found) the worst culprits for this in our division but they are not the only ones, I CHOOSE not to attend away games where such avoidable policies are in place.

Finally advance ticket prices are generally only a benefit to home supporters at all grounds as the knowlege, publishing of information and ease of attaining the advance rate is not made easily available to fans historically. Granted some away fans do take up these offers as i have at clubs such as Alfreton in the past.

Maybe fans of other clubs can confirm but i know our club does not publish advance ticket prices for upcoming away games on our website, it is information that has to be passed on by word of mouth or by searchinng yourself, something not all supporters will be inclined to do.

You're not going to like Cheltenham then. You'll pay seating prices of £21 whilst home fans can choose to stand for £16.

In all honesty, I've never known any club charge the same for standing and seatinng, when I first went to Cheltenham 21 years ago in the Beazer Homes League, seats were £1.50 more than terracing.

Another one off the away day list. £5 difference in price. Not a chance. A quid extra here and there can be glanced over but not that. And if the food is the same as we got playing Gloucester away then it's even more reason not to go.

It's the cheapest stand yet is the least populated, that should tell you how crap it is. If you sit anywhere apart from the front centre, your view is restricted by the pillars, the roof and/or the scoreboard. If it was £19 no one would go in there and it would be closed.

Away fans can print off their match tickets at home to get the advanced saving, same as home fans can. Clubs should notify their own fans before the match that this option is available.

I'd suggest because they're not going that well!

Against my better judgement, I bought one despite only making 6 games last season so I had 17 un-used tickets I cashed in. Not necessarily going to use it, but I've bought one for that many years I might as well keeping going!

Funny you said that Luke about poor sales as my mate who always has one isn't bothering this season. I'll stick with my mixture of poachers family tickets and 6 pack tickets.

We're hoping to get close to our record number of season tickets from the 1998/99 season - 2800-odd. Can't see it myself but a few hundred up on last season's total of 2100 is possible.

Edit: at the end of the first day of sales over three times as many have been sold as the first day last year. Encouraging.

Our early bird offer ended today - we've sold over 2,200 season tickets so far compared to 1,800 last season. Really chuffed! We won't add many more after this now - maybe another 50-100 tops.
