Still early but I'll add mine.

Couple of comments to make before I do, I'll start with us. Going through everyone's predictions so far it seems that the general consensus is that we either will go up autos or comfortably end up in the playoffs. Whereas, I'd cautiously agree with the second, I have my doubts over the first. See us a bit like last seasons Portsmouth. Some big names signed (Oldham captain Liam Kelly and two time promotion winner Robbie Weir from Burton should make a formidable midfield pairing for example) and the likes of Dean Cox/Paul McCallum are back from long term injuries. I think most teams would agree that on his day, Cox stakes a very good claim for the best player in the league and we would have probably finished in the playoffs last year had he not done his ACL.

On paper we have a very strong squad but in my experience we do better with no expectation and I feel that will be our undoing ultimately.

Other sides- Although I've been impressed with the signings Carlisle have made, I'm not entirely convinced they've got the fire power to mount a serious challenge. Barnet are another team discussed as potential challengers, but again I see them more mid table as they will score goals through Akinde but not convinced they'll keep them out at the other end.

Doncaster and Portsmouth you would expect to be up there, both sides probably staking a claim with us to have made the best summer signings on paper. I liked Hartlepool towards the end of last season. Good young manager and Paytner will probably get double figures. This league can be all about having a very good goalscorer, and I think Crawley could be a surprise package, simply because they've somehow managed to coax James Collins down there, thought he'd go League 1 if I'm honest. Cheltenham have a winning mentality at the moment so I expect them to be fine and Exeter don't look a bad outfit either.

At the other end, I think Newport will really struggle, they look a bit like last years Dagenham at the minute, seem light on numbers and very short on any real quality. Can see the likes of Stevenage and Morecambe having tough years too. Very little has been said of Wycombe and although I like Ainsworth, have a feeling they're in for a tough year.

If you've actually bothered to read any of that and got this far, I very much salute you for sticking with my drivel but here's my final league table:

1) Doncaster Rovers
2) Portsmouth
3) Luton Town

4) Hartlepool United
5) Leyton Orient

I wish I had the confidence in us that most of you seem to have. I will put my prediction up later in the week but as it stands with the squad we have and manager I would say no higher than 15th

It'll take a minor miracle for Bristol to win that, unless they've made wholesale changes from last season I really think that match will truly show how much of a better squad Cheltenham have. Expect double figures on Cheltenham's end.

2-0 at half time. Going to be a hell of a second half

Fuck! I'm missing the Cheltenham Globe Trotters vs Bristol The Global Brand Rovers. On a Super Sunday so that it doesn't harm the attendances of the other friendlies across the country yesterday. What channel is it on?

Pure talent and ability vs size and wealth. More than just a friendly.

I can just imagine a week before the end of the season Carver going back and editing his predictions, not that i am suggesting for one moment that he may take these sorts of things too seriously though........

LOL I've just seen my mistake, all these tinpot teams though, it's hard to tell one name from the other.

I always thought that Stevenage had Borough after it, that's strange.

You should be happy I got your clubs name right, for some reason I nearly called your club Grimthorpe City instead of Grimsby Town, I'm not sure where that came from. :pond:
