Otherwise known as the underachievers vs the overachievers. I know Sheff U still have their League Cup match to think of tonight but bugger it, I'm getting this thread started.

Tough game, this. I'd have fancied our chances at Brammall lane earlier in the season but Sheffield United's form has picked up recently and and they've added three Championship players to an already above average League 1 squad. I just get the feeling that, much like last year, they'll have a strong second half to the season and make a late surge to the play-offs and above.

We're still without Luongo and Kasim as both remain down under for Asian Cup final and 3rd place play-off matches respectively, so I'd expect us to stick with the same team that beat Chesterfield.

looking forward to hopefully getting some revenge in this one although its quite probable that it'll be a bit "after the lord mayors show" and we don't turn up. Depending on tonight's result it could be a cracking atmosphere and John Brayford will get one of the best receptions of any new signing ever in his highly likely debut.

Do you not think it's 'weird' spending all that dosh on a FB? We've done it twice - David Peach and Jason Drysdale - both of which were horrendous buys.

I'm counting on you lot eyeing the cup games and hoping you don't go all out to get the game called off!

I thought if you weren't registered by the first game you couldn't play in the second? Or is that just with FA Cup replays?

not really. As our director said "he's not just a full back, he's John Brayford" (he's American bless him so can get away with being cheesy). But seriously though John Brayford means so much more to the club than just his obvious abilities at right back. He's loved by the club and fans and clearly loves us back. Despite only being on loan last season from January he managed to achieve cult status almost immediately, he's already given a lot of fans and the club in general a boost. If you go on Saturday you'll see just how much he's loved by us.

Yeah, it appears the multi-quote system is playing up and just hangs when you try and use it. Click reply instead and I will get on to Chris about it :)

If Blades could nick a point that would be good. Cant see them beating Swindon with all their distractions and Swindons away form.

0-1, Brayford o.g.

Brammall Lane worries me a bit after we got steamrolled there two seasons back. Though we are full of character this season and have already shown our young side can bring home 3 points from tough looking away days.

Hopefully they haven't even thought about the weekend yet and we can take advantage. We've had a week off, hopefully we go for it early doors, and don't suffer from the lethargy that often follows a break.

The reverse fixture was the best home performance of the season when we scored five and it could have been ten, I am worried about this one though this could be one game too many for our young lads who I think will be bullied especially without are 2 star players. I will be happy with a draw so I am going 1 - 1.

Well after the disappointment of your semi final, I wonder what sort of mind set the Sheffield United players will have on Saturday, I really fancy our chances here, could be a lot of goals again , but I think we will Nick it by the odd goal COYR

I'm sure my lovable rivals will pick up all 3 points here. I think last night will have taken it out of United a bit, I have every faith in you guys xxx

we'll probably make quite a few changes from last night but have the depth to do that on the whole, we managed a draw away to Preston with effectively our reserve team.

should the game go ahead (we are shocking for games called off when it snows) id guess we'll line up:

howard
Brayford Basham Kennedy Freeman
Coutts Reed Adams Baxter Murphy
Higdon

Only ever seen one bellend Oxford fan on either here or TFF called OxTid. Only makes an appearance when we're struggling or them lot are doing well though. Hope didn't find his way here.

Long term gains.
Slightly off topic but looks like town have rejected a £1.9million bid for Luongo(aka the Swindon Dele Alli) from a Turkish club

As well as an inquiry from Sevilla.

Not sure how long Swindon will be able to keep him given the calibre of clubs coming in.

Looks like a decent sum will be coming our way if we cash in.

Makes a change from selling our best players for a couple of hundred k.

Makes a change not to see our best players being sold for a dime. I reckon 3 million euro and we'll talk.
