They’ll let them in, already a team light following Macc going pop. Will be the biggest side in the division.

Good size club for the level granted but Notts are bigger although no one can eclipse Luton's massiveness.

They let us in even though we basically were collapsing financially at the time and didn’t get taken over until a couple of days before the season started. Obviously things aren’t great at Southend, but I don’t think they’re quite in the state of complete chaos that we were, so they should be fine getting in.

I'd agree with that. Don't quite know what's going on but Ron has managed to scrape by, he didn't pay off the last HMRC bill btw, was some sports agency no one has heard off and no one knows what connection to him or the club they had or now have.

The interesting thing for Ron will be how he's dealt with if he finds himself and the club back in the courts AGAIN. For all the people saying the National League is run as a shambles and they make it up as they go along, well the EFL is more of a shambles and basically just wants to sweep everything under the carpet and let people get away with it for as long as they can.
I think Ron will massively regret falling to this level and not having the comfort of the EFL looking the other way continuously.

Who's the second biggest club to have seen this league in recent years then? Notts/Oxford?

Seem to remember Oxford having some massive gates at home during their stint in 08/09/10 and always travelled in decent numbers. Had that shithouse Constable up top.

Notts are the biggest club to ever be at this level, followed by Luton. Oxford are a strange one really, most of their history they were non-league (and not even called Oxford) then had a meteoric rise, culminating in winning the Milk Cup, before sinking into obscurity again.

The rest of us who've got to this level now and over the years, your Wrexham's, Shrewsbury's, Carlisle's Southend's, Grimsby's are much of a muchness I reckon.

Yeah probably Oxford.

Bristol Rovers andTranmere were largish? both clubs get decent attendances and have respectable history.

I remember the Oxford team, won their first 10 and nicknamed themselves the invincibles, we beat them to the title by 14 points.

Intrigued by why Notts are considered such a big club, been hanging around league two for decades with the odd season at league one level. Half decent size clubs get back up within a couple of years.

Can we strike Oxford from the list as the Kassam is a terrible ground and their fans are nobs?

What this moron is trying to say is that I pull him up on the garbage he constantly spouts (click on his profile and read some of his posts if you fancy a laugh) and he doesn’t like it and starts crying like a baby.
He is by far the thickest most arrogant obnoxious arsehole there has ever been on this forum, even worse than Devon_Lad which is quite an achievement.

Without wishing to get too willy waver about it, this isn’t strictly true; we were in the top flight in 91/92, Championship until ‘95, L1 from ‘96 to 2004 bar one year in L2 where we got promoted in record time, L2 from 2005 to 2010, then L1 from 2010 to 2015 before our eventual demise. Your thinking is possibly (justifiably) clouded by that time you beat us 6-1.

Anyway, I thought this had been sorted out a while ago. It is accepted Luton are probably the massivest ever to have played at NL, followed by Notts, Bristol Rovers and Tranmere roughly on a par, maybe Oxford too, then a strata containing Pools, Grimsby, Wrexham, Chesterfield, Lincoln, Stockport, Mansfield, Torquay, Exeter, Cambridge, Shrewsbury, Carlisle and Orient. Anyone I’ve missed out is quite frankly a tinpotter.

I think the brotherhood is charming, but imagine it's something like being on the sex offenders register

It’s like one of those support groups that the narrator attends at the beginning of Fight Club. I can imagine them crying into each other’s arms whilst saying ‘we’re still men’.
