Has any 'traditional league teams just come down because they are rubbish? It seems like for years having a terrible owner is the overriding reason.

And I dont see the NL refusing entry on the basis of a dodgy owner, they don't care. The only issue that would bar entry is imminent financial collapse that would mean you are unlikely to finish a season (and even then they don't care if you are on the board, a la Dover)
I can't think of anyone since us in 2010/11.

I'd agree with that. Don't quite know what's going on but Ron has managed to scrape by, he didn't pay off the last HMRC bill btw, was some sports agency no one has heard off and no one knows what connection to him or the club they had or now have.

The interesting thing for Ron will be how he's dealt with if he finds himself and the club back in the courts AGAIN. For all the people saying the National League is run as a shambles and they make it up as they go along, well the EFL is more of a shambles and basically just wants to sweep everything under the carpet and let people get away with it for as long as they can.
I think Ron will massively regret falling to this level and not having the comfort of the EFL looking the other way continuously.
Isn't it more of an HMRC issue than an EFL one, though? They're the ones who keep letting him string everything out all the time until he settles it all last minute.

Everyone seems to have forgotten we also spent time down here, although I’m quite happy that is the case!

Back to the football..............Did you know that us getting beat on Saturday by Exeter means that Tranmere could now miss out on the play offs........

Wasn't your 1st game in the Conference at Dover & one of your fans went on the pitch to attack one of our players?

Did you know that a Morecambe win and a draw for Crawley means Bolton will not. You need to get off these forums and get on grinder to find yourself a friend.

It is an EFL issue because of their football creditors first rule. Each of the 19 court cases we've faced have been to wind the club up, there and then. For the majority of them Ron has managed to get extensions due to the non-preferential creditors rule that HMRC has. That's why he uses them as a loan system, he always pays football creditors on time and in full.
I don't know of any other European country that has this rule that we do, public bodies are always the first debtor that has to be paid. For instance in Italy if you have to go to court 3 times to pay the taxman the third occasion gets you automatic relegation, regardless of whether you pay up or not. That's what did for Parma in the end.
Just that one rule change would stop Ron and others like him taking the piss out of the clubs they own.

What does that mean? Not sure anyone other than Luton that have been down here are bigger than us in truth.
I think your history after you got back into the FL has coloured your perception about the size of your club back then. When was the last time you were in the 2nd division before your relegation to the Conference in 1998?

who do you support, Lincoln City?

Didn't you have to apply for reelection a million times? and you've been relegated to the conference twice. That disqualifies you from contention.

Edit- just realised you meant Doncaster

No.

I think you're right. My memory of Donny before they went into the Conference was that they were pretty much as shite as us most of the time (which is saying something).

Since they got back up they've really progressed as a club though which I guess gives us all hope.

they took five years to get out of the conference when it was made up of amateur teams.

To be fair it was 1-up, 1-down for 4 of those seasons. Doncaster were the first team to be promoted from the Conference via the playoffs.

I have a sneaky feeling that we are going to be stuck on that 598 top flight points for a few years yet.
