From what I am reading vale had a corner, we had a player down (not sure if in the box). So when the ball was swung in Turnbull tried to catch it so the injured player could get treatment. (Or something)

Sounds ludicrous either way! 3 pens conceded in 3 games

Pleased with the point but no good playing well and only picking up draws. Need to start turning them into wins.

Sounds like with a striker capable of scoring we would have won but Smurf needs to sort that or will be a missed opportunity.

Finishing the game with no striker at 2-1 down wasn't pleasing!

Penalty conceded by Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill (Swindon Town) after a foul in the penalty area.

According to the BBC.

He punched the fucking ball. Clear as day penalty.

Listening to the radio in the car, and Cooper reckons they dominated from start to finish. Hahahahahahahahaha. Is he playing the role of Steve Evans? Fucking deluded mongoloid. Their second was so unfair it was a travesty, and it was very lucky. We had more shots yet weren't in the game for 85 minutes according to Cooper. Absolutely hilariously biased and bitter. Swindon knocked it around well and are a great passing side. Couple of excellent, stand-out performances. They'll definitely be up there at the end of the season. Delighted with the point but I think we played well and deserved something.

So the lad picked up the ball when we swung in a corner when the referee hasn't blew up for a stoppage? What a clown if that's the case!

Twitter feed said we were unlucky to go 2-1 down from a bobble through to him at a time we were well on top.

Someone should compile all these excuses as to why Vale arent top of the league with a 100% record.

The Vale Tale of Fail has a nice ring to it.

We haven't got a goal scoring striker otherwise we'd have possibly got a couple of wins from the three.

Crewe don't count as they arent a proper team

No but a full strength Burnley do. We know we're short on a striker and hopefully Smurf will dig deep especially if we pocket a bit of cash from the WBA game, or at least put Hooper on the bench and give him a go!

A lot of managers in our division confuse meaningless possession with domination. Their second was against the run of play and we had more shots and corners. Hardly dominated.
Anyway what beautiful poetic justice that we earnt a penalty whilst one of your players was down 'injured'. Cooper has proven himself to be a bit of a prat by both instilling the shameless antics of last season and giving the most bitter, biased post match interview I've heard in some time.

Very very bizarre evening. Where to start......um we played ok but didn't create enough and gave the ball away way to often in dangerous areas.
Port vale owned the ref throughout constantly in his face through first half about I don't know what. Our first goal was usual loads of passes and neat finish. Port vales was created by our usual misplaced pass and finished by number 9 with relative ease.

Then the same player had a mental 5 minutes before half time where he randomly ran into the back of Branco and claimed he was elbowed. Then for 5 minutes fell to the floor loads of times. Totally bizarre sequence where the referee showed how out of his depth he was by not flashing a yellow or two. Seriously it was worthy of its own slot on soccer am even emile heskey would question how he went down.

Port vale got upper hand and we scored against run of play although tbh it was a game of few chances. The port vale number 3 somehow managed to avoid getting sent off by pushing Robert off even though sub board had barely gone up then proceeded to shove his own team mates.

The comer well most of us were waiting for the trainer to come on including most of the players then mass confusion as the ref gives a penalty. An hour in the pub with 4 people who witnessed it and we are still none the wiser. Totally bizarre not seen anything like it in the 35 years I have watched live football.

I can only assume either

The referee is ill......seriously this is a consideration as I wouldn't want to comment against someone who's got medical issues.

The referee simply is in the wrong role as he really shouldn't be owned by one team or another.

He had an issue with the fat bastard comments from the town end

I understand why bookies look at betting patterns as decisions like this which defy logic are bound to arouse suspicion as it was highly highly unusual. Very few people of the 7000 odd people new wtf was going on.

Yeah uche is a bit of a weapon to be honest and I really dislike that about his game. Where we differ from Swindon fans is we acknowledge this and I really hate any sort of play acting. Last season your players quite frankly cheated but none of you would admit it. Karmas a bitch isn't it?

He took his goal well so didn't understand why he turned into a knobhead.
Play acting wise Stephens was the one in that mould last season but not much in the way of fouling tonight.

Why was your number three bitching about everything and even pushing your own players after Robert went off?

I don't buy into cheating theory as your guy who took the corner wasn't cheating but the referee should be competent enough to know you at least need to get an injured player off the pitch, blow your whistle.....you know those really complicated things.

Like the linesman who had 3 vale players offside to choose from early in the second half and found none of them as he could only see bumble bees

From previous antics I'm guessing your player wasn't actually injured? It's coincidental is it not that he picked up an injury deep into stoppage time? Clearly the ref could see he was trying to pull a fast one and acted accordingly

Acting accordingly would involve speaking to his linesman who was a matter of feet from the man down and delaying the corner. You would still have had a corner, and we'd still have 10 men to defend it.

Why the fuck did that complete and utter spastic try and catch the ball though? Doesn't matter if the ref 'should' have stopped the game, he didn't. To then try and catch the ball in the area........

I'm actually angry having watched that. How can anyone be so stupid?

The referee should of allowed the player to be moved off the pitch to receive treatment end of.

He has a watch to record any lost time and cards for any perceived time wasting. It's not rocket science poor old Brendan is simply out of his depth referees use these highly complicated instruments all the time.

The TV view doesn't really show how fast it all happened. Notice how there's not the usual jostling for position in the penalty area when corner comes in, no goalkeeper up no referees whistle everyone was simply waiting for the player to get attention as the physio was almost on the pitch. This did all happen 5 minutes into 4 minutes of stoppage time.

Injured players
The referee must adhere to the following procedure when dealing with injured
players:
• play is allowed to continue until the ball is out of play if a player is, in the
opinion of the referee, only slightly injured
• play is stopped if, in the opinion of the referee, a player is seriously injured
• after questioning the injured player, the referee may authorise one, or at
most two doctors, to enter the field of play to assess the injury and arrange
the player’s safe and swift removal from the field of play
• stretcher-bearers should only enter the field of play with a stretcher
following a signal from the referee
• the referee must ensure an injured player is safely removed from the field of
play

Got no sympathy, listening to Coopers interview made me chuckle. Last season we battered Swindon most of the game and had to endure constant time wasting and feigning of injuries so in fairness some karma was dished out tonight that whilst a player was down... Likely time wasting it ended up costing the three points and gave us one.
