Sooo, now we have a champion, who do we think is going to win the payoffs? Looks like it's going to be between 3 teams who have already suffered playoff defeats (Ferriby, Boston and Fylde) and Harrogate.

I genuinely don't know what to expect when we're back next season. We scored 285 (!) goals in our last three seasons in the North, can't really see any repeat of those feats next year, unless we get a radically revamped squad.

Looking at the fixtures and GD I think Nuneaton may pip Boston in to the play-offs. Very hard to predict anything though this year. Harrogate are a good side and have impressed me. Hope they go up.

The standard has regressed hugely this year IMO. Tamworth have been fucking abysmal when we have played them in the league and they even let a 2-0 lead against us slip in the FA Cup with 15 minutes left to lose 3-2. And their 7th!

Corby relegated tonight if they lose at Bradford.

hednesford after yesterdays mess need to go to champion Solihull and win.

Think it is just 2 mini battles now....Brackley vs Lowestoft and Nuneaton vs Boston

Rest in pre-season mode

Wouldn't look forward to playing North Ferriby again, a horrible, thuggish side they were in 2013-14. They really blew the title that year, and ended up getting battered by Guiseley in the playoffs. Guiseley had the wood on them that year.

Harrogate could yet drag themselves into our battle with Nuneaton if us and Fylde both beat them, but they should get in. Our GD means we may as well be 0.5pt less than the other teams.
And yes, it's a crap league. Only Solihull have been consistent but even they may not surpass Barrow's 87 from last year. 2nd place may be sown up with 77 yet 2 years ago 77 only got you 6th

Boston and Nuneaton still have to play each other at York Street, wow, that is massive. I think Boston might be the ones needing to win that one as well.

That's why I was so pissed off when we got beat by Tamworth t'other week, we have no plan b, not really got a plan a! Good win at the weekend, Raul correia looks really good, fast, strong, determined, all you want from a striker!

Have Nuneaton appealed their points deduction?

Highly doubt they'll be successful with that, thankfully. Had quite enough of Nuneaton and their "unique" fans desperately trying to create a rivalry with us.

Dick them Boston.

Totally agree. If their is one club I absolutely detest it is Nuneaton

I see Frank Sinclair has left Hednesford again! This time for good, a day before they are relegated at Solihull! Twat.

Is Frank Sinclair not a good manager then? I thought he did well at Colwyn Bay

Absolutely woeful mate at Hednesford. Signed a load of poor young players who are totally raw. Played them out of positions and they have shipped a massive amount of scrappy and poor goals. We scored 11 against them in 3 games and didnt even play well in any of them. They have been really poor this season.

Think as time went on at Colywn Bay things started to unravel too.

Fair enough, Hednesford are a team I'd have liked to play next season but that looks rather unlikely. But someone posted on our forum that along with us, Worcester, Telford, Nuneaton, Tamworth and Alfreton in the division Stourbridge and Redditch could be coming up so the league could well be dominated by Midlands and Manchester teams.

Kettering are another outside possibility although a home defeat to already relegated Bedworth cost them badly last night.

Threw away a two goal lead at home to Corby but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter.

The big news of the day was John Marsden signing a new contract for next season - he should get into double figures for goals next season from the AMC role - just hope it's as part of a 4-2-3-1 rather than 4-4-2 diamond.

Gannon also said post match that he has five new players signed up for next season so there appears to no messing about - I'd put a heavy sum on one of them being Northwich striker Richie Bennett.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Curzon 1-1 Gloucester

Gloucester grabbed a point right at the end of the game, but in fairness they completely dominated the game for pretty much the whole of the game. First half i cannot hardly remember any of the game played outside of the Curzon half as they dominated it so much. The one positive for Curzon is they defended very well and apart from one great chance missed Gloucester had little chances from a mass of possession.

start of second half Curzon improved alot......the Curzon manager in the 4 games i have seen so far for me is excellent at noticing faults first half and changing things, is the 3rd game they have improved after break. curzon had a 15 minute odd spell of pressure and grabbed a goal from a rare attack, a cross and header off bar landed to another Curzon player to finish.................very undeserved in terms of play, but credit to Curzon manager for how they came out.

Thereafter it was all Gloucester and got worse as time went on, pressure after pressure and by god it was bloody cold......Curzon's ground is running close with Oldham's as coldest i've been to. then came sleet, hail, snow, chances after chances until finally and deservedly it was 1-1. Lucky for us it was too late for them to capitalise.

not sure if it was due to nothing to play for or if curzon made afew changes to squad players (as i don't know first team i am not sure yet who is starting or not etc, etc) but Curzon just never got going yesterday apart from a very dogged defence which meant they grabbed a point from a game they shouldn't have.

Bit of a shambles getting in. Queued until 5 past 3 with others a good 5-10 mins later still. Hastily erected segregation as a crowd of 1027 was more than expected- which probably caused the problem. Poor game. Few clear chances for either side. All percentage football and little risk taking to try and get through. They could have nicked it on chances but a good couple of saves from Spiess to preserve our well earned point. 2 clean sheets in a row too.
Next up- quite simply one of the top 2 biggest league games since we dropped out of the league, up there with the Marine title decider in 2010

You reckon you will keep Piergianni in the summer?

Gannon mentioned that he wanted to try and take players off the better teams in this division and he is Manchester based nowadays I believe and did very well for us and him in the past.

Not if we fail to go up. Same with Southwell (he may end up at Lincoln, even Posh were rumored to be interested earlier in the season). Can't see Pidge wanting to play at this level, even for Stockport

He's studying at Manchester Uni and will be next season I think so we seem the perfect fit as a part-time club.

No inside knowledge on this one, just me throwing something out there going off what Gannon said and knowing he will probably be after a centre back or two. Also Pidge generally sorts his future out very early as he goes travelling once the season ends - another reason why I think he could be one of the players we have already signed.

We're effectively a Manchester-based club again from next season (training moving to somewhere near Rochdale, I think). He's definitely a player I'd like to see alongside Livesey.

I wasn't sure whether Piergianni was even playing next season because he's off travelling in a couple of weeks. I got it in my head he was going for a while, but I suppose it's more of an extended holiday if it's only for a couple of months.

National Farmers Union 2 - 0 Telford United.
1st visit to North Ferriby, what a sh*t ground, if promoted, how on earth that ground is fit for Conference Premier football? Capacity can't be more than 2,500 - 3,000 at best, and is best describe as one sided with three paths around the rest. Even with 488 in the ground it looked busy. Makes Solihull Motors look like Wembley.
Oh and we lost! Back in the do-do, with a must not lose game at Broccili Town tomorrow.

I don't think we'll be a threat at all next season if Gannon sticks to his diamond formation, it's ridiculous and clearly doesn't work.
