This league is very predictable, since we've been down here it's pretty much been the same teams around the top 6/7.

The likes of Solihull, Boston, Ferriby, Tamworth, Chorley, Harrogate and Nuneaton are the good sides, obviously Solihull and another will go but they're the good teams, then you've got the good sides that aren't quite good enough to make the play offs like us and Alfreton and the rest are basically all shit.

I think under Gannon we'll be top 8, I imagine Alfreton will improve, Telford will surely challenge at least for the top half, then you've got Darlo who are coming up and have the momentum and I assume a decent budget, if Salford join them they'll definitely be up there as they'll just throw money at it.

I was watching the national league highlights and I really like the look of Colin Gordon, I've noticed results have improved under him and spoke well, he hates long ball though doesn't he so I hope he's prepared for Ferriby.

Gordon won't be manager but yes results have improved, if the league had started after we sacked Hockaday we'd be 15th. But yeah he hates long ball and will always try to pass teams off the pitch, sometimes it's worked but others like against Barrow it didn't.

I wasn't sure whether Piergianni was even playing next season because he's off travelling in a couple of weeks. I got it in my head he was going for a while, but I suppose it's more of an extended holiday if it's only for a couple of months.
Yeah he has done it the last couple of years I think.

I don't think we'll be a threat at all next season if Gannon sticks to his diamond formation, it's ridiculous and clearly doesn't work.
well 6 wins, 4 draws, 4 defeats with a team that was in free-fall prior to his arrival, so it has worked to a degree and was in fact working very well when we had Montrose and Ledsham as part of that diamond in midfield.

Young played with wingers for the whole of his reign and we all saw how that worked out. No point playing with width if you haven't got any quality in wide areas. Hopefully in the summer we can find a quality wide attacker or two and change back to Gannon's favorite system in his first spell 4231.

We only beat the shit teams, it's like what Alan Lord did, get as many strikers on the pitch as you can and the shit teams will just roll over, plus sometimes he ended up changing it: Hednesford (A), Brackley (A), Fylde (H), Worcester (A)

That Fylde was atrocious, we literally had 3 strikers, 2 wingers and one holding midfielder. No centre mids! We got destroyed because of the space we gave away.

I don't think Gannon will stick with it anyway, we'll get a completely new team, it wouldn't surprise me if Rule and Montrose went despite them being contracted.

He really seems to like Montrose so I'm hopeful he will stay but wouldn't be surprised if Rule went and I wouldn't be too bothered either.

Agree with David Currie's Mullet - happy days.

How come Stockport are midtable, is it lack of budget, poor management or something else? I have not been keeping an eye on this league over the last 4 seasons.

Welcome mate! Looking forward to playing you guys next season!

How much has to be done on your ground to meet Step 2 standards? I know you have until March 2017 to complete them but do you think they will be completed?

Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Club now play there and own it, bought it for something like £2 million sold their old ground off for housing. We will play at Blackwell Meadows have raised enough money to make the stadium a Cat B with a capacity of 3,000 for now.
Will be done for Bank Holiday in August 2016 for our first game, not sure if the league will let us play at Bishop Auckland till then though.

Because we are Stockport County and we specialise in failure - this season could actually be our highest placing and points tally in our three seasons in this god awful division.

Gannon's summer transfer plan is to try and lure a handful of proven National League North players and supplement them with some young talented Evo-Stik recruits - seems a good plan in practise - i'd like to think we will be challenging next season.

Didn't go today but sounded routine, which was surprising, they either had an off day or are just shit

Bit of both. We were disappointing but you guys played well really. Marsden had a great game.

3-0 was very Harsh on us. We deserved more from the game. Missed the screamer from Marsden for the third.

Yeah 3-0 was definitely harsh but we deserved the victory and Marsden's goals were both top notch, especially the second. Alfreton were quite direct and our defence were reasonably comfortable for the majority of the afternoon. I was quite surprised to see Lindon Meikle not starting and not introduced until late on.

Looking at our the side today I'd be surprised if more than two begin our first game of next season.

Anyone who didn't catch our stunning equaliser Kaine Felix ought to find a moment to do so. They started brightly, got a soft goal from a set piece, nearly went 2 up but apart from that, didn't create much. Wouldn't say we peppered their goal but got ourselves level shortly before half time and then Jay Rollins scored shortly after half time. For all Nuneaton's huff and puff, they didn't create any clear chances.
Decent crowd of over 2,000 in too. Unless Bradford beat Nuneaton, we've still got to do a job at Stalybridge but in our hands

Alty will be back next season and at present there is much uncertainty as to how we might perform. No manager, few players sorted etc.
Seems likely that Conf North will be much stronger than when we left it, cant say the same for the NL which is not as strong as it once was and that makes our departure even more annoying.

Having said all that Alty is still in a very healthy state these days and the good days will return,... eventually:dk:

Alty will always be able to tap into the local pool of players... something we'll never be able to do. Only way of getting best players at Boston is to get a lucky few who are dedicated to make the trip or pay big £££. The latter didn't end well last time

There maybe a bigger pool of players in the north west but there is also a lot of clubs fighting for the same players.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
But Curzon are going to win the conf north next season.

If Accy can do it in L2.....

see the 2 last battles go to the last day, Lowestoft hammered midweek gives Brackley a chance, saying that Brackley in injury time missed a bloody glorious chance, not sure if Brackley can actually score enough to get the win they need...........fluffed chance after chance.

Pointless club. Their aim as a club is just to play Manchester United, after that they won't know what to do. Another new ground for me as we travel to FC United; hopefully they don't sing too many irritating Man Utd songs. It's segregated as well :mell:
3 points would feel good though for our final game in the Conference North :gr:
