Not sure Mellis is an improvement on Tutte and/or Soares. And I'd rather have Nicky Adams than Alessandra.

The news that John-Lewis has joined Newport has set me thinking. Who would you rank with him as the all time worst player to wear the famous white shirt ... and over 3 seasons as well! Thankfully King Kev arrived and saw the lump for what he was and he was quickly shown the door.

Feckin hell. In far too many years of following Dale and keeping a benign weather eye (and calling in on, occasionally) our friends from the lower Roch valley - I'd have to agree with you. Some bloke called Cruikshank who played in the same team wasn't very good, either, but BP was awful.

At least Crucks had "some" value when he was played up front.

Only saw him three or four times (and not against Dale, as the Shakers were a division higher at the time), but in every game I remember, he got a crunching tackle early doors from the full back and promptly "disappeared" for the rest of the game.

Or maybe he had an internal radar which meant he spotted me lurking there and thought "bugger this, he's a Dale fan. I'm not bothering".

He .must presumably have been pretty good on other occasions, but I never saw this!
