I'm glad you used CAPITAL LETTERS. It was CRUCIAL to getting your point across. If there were no capital letters the post would've been very POINTLESS indeed.

May is so weak she can’t even sack Patel. How have we ended up with such a weak leader at such a critical time for this country. Strong and stable what?

If she sacks them they get to walk away from the inevitable Brexit mess with the excuse they weren't in a position to alter the outcome (especially Boris). Making people resign is actually the better option, of two shit choices, for May.

That’s a fair point.

Isn't it the Labour Party that is divided and dead for a generation unless they split?

Corbyn doesn't have the support of the PLP. Politically speaking, it's a fatal wound he's carrying.

It did make me laugh when May wasn't saying that they are commited to eliminating animal cruelty. She backs fox hunting, the badger cull, pheasant shoots... Etc.

Ha, quite. It's almost as though people are suspicious of the intentions of a party with a track record of wanting to implement terrible things/remove important protections.

Gove's probably got something of a point about social media but it's fucking rich for a guy who was both a central figure in the Leave campaign and a journalist with the Murdoch press to be complaining about distorted and misleading claims. I suspect one of the reasons people use social media as a news source is precisely because confidence in traditional media (esp the printed press) is at a stunningly low ebb. Someone's got to try to hold the government to account while the likes of the Mail and Sun are busy plugging their own warped version of the truth.

On a side note, I've still not quite got over how feeble the government's budget offer to young people was. Getting rid of stamp duty (which the OBR thinks will just push prices up) and some crummy railcard.* I mean, jeez, I don't think Labour really have to worry about this demographic deserting them for pastures blue.

*on the subject of the railcard, it sounds suspiciously similar to a Network Railcard, which will similarly save you 1/3 off rail travel. It's restricted to a particular area, though does cover London and the whole of the south east, and available to any age. I have one, and while it's useful and saves me money, all it really ends up reinforcing is how expensive rail travel is in the first instance (they don't feel like great savings because you're still paying a not inconsiderable price). There's also a pretty fundamental problem in that, because of peak hour restrictions, you can't use any of these railcards if you're commuting, when fares are at their most expensive. I think Labour's response to these sort of initiatives - that they're tinkering around the edges of what are essentially broken systems - is pretty much spot on.

Also, I know it's not exactly a revelation, but how stunningly thick is Nadine Dorries? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-42216622
Very worrying if this is how a lot of MPs operate.

I can understand the irritation at the way it's made its way into the public domain, but really weird that loads of Tories are jumping to Damien Green's defence. Using work facilities to look at loadsa porn is pretty much a sackable offence in any workplace, surely? Maybe not if you're an MP...

The contortions folk will go through to defend a weirdo’s right to have a wank at work is incredible. So many people choosing this as their hill to die on. Ffs:lol:

David Davies can go and die, the slug.

There is literally no other workplace who would tolerate it.

Some other MP jumped to her defence after this saying he also shares his password with people so he doesn't forget. These guys are fucking morons and think they're in a position to implement encryption backdoors for our security. I'd love to hear one of them describe how encryption works.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
The DUP seem pleased at recent events...

This is all going swimmingly.

Some good news. Theresa May has personally banned hidden credit card charges in a move many are describing as "strong and stable". Finally, it's all coming up Tory and nothing can stop the rich and powerful from doing good things for the good people of Great Britain! And I'm not afraid to call it Great Britain even though it's not PC, I don't care.

My mate drinks with him in his local pub in Somerset and says he's a lovely guy who is approachable and will speak to anyone who wants to engage with him,if only more MP's were like that.

Blame the left for surrendering liberalism to the right, although perhaps surrender is the wrong word...
