Looking at who is left, I hope Yorkshire win the tournament now.

Sri Lanka just beat Australia in the first test - decent rearguard action from the Aussies though as Peter Nevill scored 9 from 115 balls and Steve O'Keefe managed 4 from 98.

This test was on Eurosport as well. Although I didn't manage to catch any of it, it's good to know that there is actually some cricket I can watch without resorting to finding a dodgy stream.

Home to Durham in the draw for the blast. Fancy us to go through that, and if we do hopefully I can get my hands on tickets for final's day.

Saw bits of it here and there. Great fightback by Sri Lanka from trailing on first innings. Really like the look of Sandakan their new left arm chinaman bowler, very impressive from him and good to see that style of bowling at Test level given how rare it is generally.

A win today can see us get into another one day quarter final.

All but guaranteed a 50 over quarter final today. Fancy us in the T20 qf against Middlesex as well, got a very well rounded 20 over side with key players in form, and we're very good at home.

Also rumours down here Duckett will be in the ODI squad for the Pakistan series. Been good to watch him develop, when he was younger he had all the scoops, flicks and sweeps but didn't quite have the power to muscle the ball over the rope. Fair to say he's developed that now! Nearly 2000 runs this year too, with some excellent career averages.

Rain is going to ruin the last round of Royal London games.

Hales gone again, to be fair was a good bit of bowling. Maybe Pakistan will prove me wrong ultimately but a strange decision to bowl first I think.

Hales has been victim to some jaffas. Nobheads still calling for him to be dropped though, a man who outscored Cook in the last Test series. (Caveat again that I don't think he'll be a productive Test player ultimately).

Vince needs a score in this Test or he's toast for me.

Happy for Hales to stick around over the winter personally, but agree Vince needs to at least show signs of being capable at this level in this and the next game or I think he'll be gone.

Might aswell call it a day now.

Vince or Ballance will probably be gone by lunch too. Looks like a good call by Misbah in the end.

Not been able to watch any of the test today - are we just throwing wickets away or coming up against decent bowling?

Hales and Cook were out to good bowling. Root would probably want that shot back again if he could but hard to criticise someone with his record.

Excellent run rate from England, even with the three wickets lost things not too bad right now.

Yep, my prediction was that we would be 5 down by lunch with these pair in but fair play to them, they seemed to have steadied the ship

*cue a wicket now of course

Will they look at replacing Hales and Vince at the end of this series or keep the faith so to speak - guess the selectors cannot keep chopping and changing.

I'd keep Hales, as mentioned by RB he is being got out rather than giving his wicket away. Eventually he will come off and if there is a place to do it I think the Oval will be the one for him.

As for Vince he needs to refine his game so would send on tour with the A team instead. At the moment its either block or boundary from him before eventually getting out in the same fashion. Given where we are touring this winter for me the move to make is move Moeen up a spot in the order and bring in Rashid (obviously Stokes would replace Finn). Gives you two spinning options and with the added bonus we can call on both legspin and offspin. Don't even lose many runs if any with the bat either I'd say.

what the hell is wrong with you

It's the lesser of 8 evils I am afraid. It will be different when we have to play the Yorkies in the RL QF on the 18th.

A good day for Kent in the CC today :bg:

Vince gets to 30+ comfortably or will play some world class shots and loses concentration. He should have gone on to make a 50 yesterday. No excuses. But out of the two, Hales is way way way out of his depth and should be replaced before Vince. Perhaps move Vince up to two.

But Yorkshire are the most evil of all evils. Except maybe Surrey. I'd accept you hating Surrey more.

Believe me, as a Kent supporter, I hate Slurrey more than anyone else. Brown Cap b""""""s !!!

Strange you should mention Slurrey, as Michael Vaughan said that Yorkshire were brought up to dislike them even more than Lancashire.
