Past three months I've lived in the gym so I can serve in the army as a tank like Jonjo Shelvey.

Only thing missing now is the diet to accommodate, I do well and then fall in the wagon. Just got one of the Joe Wicks cook books but haven't actually used it yet.

I'm loving the healthier lifestyle though, I'm in the best shape I've ever been in and now I can see noticeable changes it's a good morale booster.

Probably one step away from being a vegan.

I have been trying too motivate myself to get fitter. I play a lot of football but it isn't enough as my lifestyle (Beer, Chinese food, Beer) isn't a good mix. As of last Tuesday I've been up before work and having 25-30mins a day on the treadmill and my job is quite active.

I am in need of a healthier diet and I might actually get somewhere.

Fuck the gym and fuck eating healthy, so what if you live five years longer if you spent ten of it in the gym. Eat what you want.

On the other hand, just got out of the dentist and the hygienist said I'm in good shape and to keep up the good work. Cool.

Yeah got back on eating less and done a stint back on the rower on Monday which has fucked me for a few days! Will do another stint tomorrow then go for a walk on Friday and Sunday before getting back into it fully next week. I do well for months, then stop for a week which turns into a few months which undoes most of the good work going before it - need to break that habit.

I've walked the 13 mile round trip to work every day this week in a bid to integrate a bit of exercise into my daily routine. Will have walked 52 miles when I get back home tonight. Have completed the crisps to Snack-a-Jacks to nothing lunch time sandwich accompaniment as well. Ordered some dumb bells off the internet too. Gonna aim to do 4-5 weeks of working out at home a bit and the head back into the world of the gym. *shudder*

That's exactly like me. So difficult to get into the habit, but it just takes one weekend of excessive beers and pizzas and I'm like "fuuuuuck this healthy shit!"

Funnily enough I've been living like a monk for the past week. Trying to achieve 2 sessions a day, 5 days of the week. Gone back to basics with the diet. I'm a dairy loving nut chewing pescatarian at the moment so my diet is providing quality protein & fats. Carb wise I'm looking at oats, potato's, sweet potato fries, parsnips. Zero refined sugars. Probably getting through about 10 serving of fruit & veg a day.

Weight regime isn't very varied. Deadlifts, bench, barbell thrusters, leg press, lunges, front squat. I want functional explosive strength, I have no need to isolate specific muscle groups and have em looking stupid. Cardio wise HIIT is the preference via various methods to keep the body adapting. Hill sprints, sprints, rower & bike are all ways to achieve a beasty HIIT workout. The slow traipsing cardio can't be avoided either though unfortunately. Once it stops raining (the wet isn't the problem, my path has loads of frogs) I''ll smash out some 60 minute jogs. Throw in a couple of body weight circuits a week and maybe a kettlebell routine and I should be good to go. Looking to join an amateur boxing club soon and there's a decent BJJ/Wrestling set up near me that I'll look to join too once my fitness is where I want it to be.

The people saying eat what you want you only live once I don't feel are on the right track. You only live once so don't you want that time to be as happy & long as possible? 90% of the brains serotonin is produced in the gut, it figures that is enhanced by quality foods. Eat well feel good, eat shit & feel like shit. There is a direct correlation. Poor diet and not giving your body a boost with exercise is probably the reason we have so many people going to the docs for depression. For me I'm in agreement with Plato and other fine thinkers, treat your body right and it'll treat you right.

“Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it.”
~ Plato

I really like HIIT training, I've started doing my general gym reps as a HIIT circuit in an attempt to lean up instead of bulk up.

The worst part is getting cramp when I'm about to drive home.

I do a lot of running with the RAF but could be so much fitter if I did more, I rarely go to the gym if ever.

I eat crap though, and have at least 5 chocolate bars a day, feels great

I do fuck all. I'm quite happy as I am.
I'm with him.
Good man that's my view as well.
On board with you lads. I walk to the garage every day, to the bookies on a Saturday and cut our huge back green once a week along with a bit of hedge trimming every fortnight. Diet ? Well today I will have had three of the 5 a day..............tomato with my roast beef sannies this morning and peas and chips with my breaded haddock this evening.

I don't bother with the Gym, I have an exercise bike and some weights at home, it's great for me because I'm naturally shy, so working out with people around is awkward AF for me.

Plus I can do my mad midnight sessions when I can't sleep.

I've had the same diet for years: no breakfast, eat a reasonable amount at midday and next to nothing in evenings. I do drink lots of beer when I go out so I need my run once/twice a week. I have two races planned in the next few weeks so my diet has been very strict and I've been running three times a week.

Will never, ever give money to a gym. Indoor sports is sickening (except futsal).

Monday walked to work, ran back. Tuesday walked to work, ran/walked back. Wednesday walked to and from work. Today walked to work, ran back. Tomorrow will walk there and back. 65 miles in total and have eaten well. If I haven't shed any weight when I weigh myself tomorrow I am gonna be pissed off.

Never cycled more than 10km just as a means of getting around to work or something. Went out with triathlon club today, 43km cycled. Hurting now...

Had a good run this morning. Bit of rain while setting off but it stopped soon afterwards. The great thing about running is that it gets rid of all the alcohol you drank the eve of said run (or the eve of that eve in this occasion).
