My best mate did a trek of America a couple of years ago, think he did something like 36 states in 65 days and had the time of his life. Think he used Trek America, I can try and find out if you like?
Yeah, that'd be great mate! Only started looking into it a couple of weeks ago and I'm waiting for a brochure at the moment (it said 1-3 days, ordered last week :dk:)

Just booked 8 days in Albufeira, Portugal in May. 6 of us going, 3 couples. Renting a gorgeous villa just on the marina. Should be a good warm up for my holiday in Kefalonia in September.

That TrekAmerica thing looks amazing. Exactly the type of thing I want to do one day.

^^ This.

Also few mates are going to Mexico in May and I am tempted to add on. They are flying to Mexico City and then flying back from Cancun 2 weeks later. Think the plan is to have a few days there and then a week in Cancun and spend a few days travelling between - what is the journey like would anyone know? Assume it will be done by bus and train but it looks a fair old trek? Is there anywhere on the way to stop..or to avoid for that matter?

Always wanted to go to Mexico so a bit of a road trip sounds like my kinda thing.

Trek Anerica was who he used. He's used them twice, him and a couple other mates did a 4-6 week trek last year starting in New York ending in LA or Vegas I think but going through the Southern states. Part of that tour included getting your photo taken outside Walter White's house

Was in Albufeira last year. Lovely spot. Nice beaches, great weather, plenty of bars and restaurants. Can't go wrong really.

Malta looks beautiful, but I've been put off by some people recently. Heard whilst it's easy on the eye there actually isn't an awful lot to do. Been looking at Greece in recent days. Corfu looks a nice spot with Sidari in particular being often recommended.

It's worth visiting I think. I really enjoyed it there and Gozo is beautiful. There was a open air club that had regular trance parties on too which was cool. It is sedate though so maybe one for when you're older.

We are going to Freqs of Nature festival a psy trance festival in Germany. We'll be spending a couple of days in Berlin which is a city we love.

We're thinking of maybe doing a trip to Italy as well. Maybe Verona - Venice - Bologna. Anyone been to those places?

We always have ADE hanging over us in October which causes debate every year especially once the line ups come out.

Depending how you make the journey, the minimum time you spend on the road will be 24 hours but that is a direct bus from mexico city...a week in Cancun and 2 days in mexico city, leaving you 5 days in other places which will most likely be Oaxaca, San Cristobal or Veracruz. Given the distances between these places and the time frame you are giving yourself I'd say just fly from mexico city or get a bus to Guadalajara and fly from there to Cancun. Guadalajara is by far the best city in mexico anyway.

Mexico is a huge country and distances between some cities will take 8 or 10 hours on the bus, for example mexico city to Oaxaca is 8 hours. Oaxaca to San Cristobal is pushing 12 hours depending if you stopped by teacher blockade strikes. San Cristobal to Cancun is 24 hours...but to palenque is 12 hours, palenque to Cancun is 16 hours. 5 days to cover this doesn't make sense, I took 3 weeks to cover it and still could have done a lot more. Pick another city in mexico and then fly to Cancun.

Just got back from a skiing holiday with work in southern Germany. Beautiful place and the snow was fantastic, great week.

Off to Pas De La Cas in Andorra skiing a week on Tuesday too. Can't wait.

Got a villa in Lourdas (Lourdata). Where did you stay? Did you enjoy it?

We stayed near Sami.

We did enjoy it as a relaxing holiday, we found other than visiting a few beaches there really wasn't much else to do so spent most of our time by the pool. Although, if you have a car you can probably do a bit more, we decided we wasn't going to do that beforehand so we left driving licenses at home but ended up wishing we hadn't.

We did take a trip to Ithaca for the day, I'd recommend that as it's a lovely little Island, a bit surreal in some ways.

Lovely place though.

Got 9 days in Tenerife for the second year running. Free accommodation again. £300 return. A bit more than I'd liked to have spent on flights but no accommodation costs makes up for it.

Just got back the other day from 4 days in Berlin. We had a fantastic time, would highly recommend it to anyone. I did find it unusual how there are no checks on any of the public transport and you can just wander on and off if you don't fancy buying a ticket.

I'm a bit limited these days as I have been advised that I should not fly for longer than 2 hours so most of my recent holidays have been in the UK, in particularly The Scottish Highlands.

I am heading up there again on the train for a week next month. The scenery up there is stunning, and the train journey itself is fantastic. I am staying in a small Highland village called Plockton which is on the West Coast close to the Isle Of Skye. It's like stepping back in time 50 years and it a great place just to get away from it all. It does boast 2 pubs, both of which are award winning seafood restaurants as well and it's own brewery, so there's everything I need there for a nice relaxing week away.

Not a fan, there's a lot better out there if you're into that sort of music. Attracts major cretins too. I've seen Hannah Wants last year and she was brilliant tho.

I'm no house expert, I suspect most, erm, "hardcore" house fans (or deep house fans) would frown at me and shun me should I ever attempt a conversation with them but I enjoy basically anything Annie Mac plays. I saw Hannah Wants play at the 02 in Sheffield and it was an excellent night.

Nah they won't especially if they're on certain substances *Ahem* nearly everyone is friendly and its a totally different experience to lets say a "Normal" night out in a club.

Obviously everyone's taste is different but If you are into that type of music I would advise you to see people that you might not have heard of if you get the chance.

Hope you have a good time anyway mate.

Was going to go to Temuco this summer for Copa America. Looks like I'm not going. I'm not afraid of the cold in Temuco as long as I support my country. Never been to Chile. One of the 4 countries in South America I haven't been to.
