Anyone been to Norway? Thinking of going over soon with some mates. Probably Oslo but open to different ideas.

Not been but it's expensive as fuck. I've heard good things about Trondheim and Bergen from a friend who used to live there. Also Tromsoe but that's way, way north.

Malta looks beautiful, but I've been put off by some people recently. Heard whilst it's easy on the eye there actually isn't an awful lot to do. Been looking at Greece in recent days. Corfu looks a nice spot with Sidari in particular being often recommended.

My Mum and Dad love Sidari so I've been about 6/7 times. It used to be alot better for things to do but is still decent. If you go though The Three Little Pigs is a must to do for some grub!

We ended up booking Stalis instead. Seems really nice. Plenty to do (waterparks, bars and restaurants), nice beaches and more relaxed than Malia, which is ideal for a couple holiday.

I've booked Rome for July also. Really excited for that as I've never been.

I'm going to Florence next week, open to suggestions for things to do.

That's a lovely part of the world, I'd definitely like to go to Croatia again. Dubrovnik will be rammed with tourists though.

Florence is great. You certainly won't have a lack of things to do. There are some great little restaurants just off the main tourist tracks and the prices are lower, plus you get to walk round the tiny little cobbled streets which is decent enough in itself.

Yeah that's what I'm slightly worried about. It's where a lot of the Game of Thrones stuff is filmed (Kings Landing stuff) so I think tourism, and cost, has rocketed! I'm sure we'll enjoy it though

Booked a few days in Berlin at the end of the month, love that city. Hoping to get to the Stasi Museum, Tempelhof and go up the Reichstag this time. Anyone done the Alternative or Cold War walking tour before? Did the 'general' one last time and really enjoyed it so would consider doing this this time.

Hoping to get down to Dresden for the MSV game, but I will need a lot of things to go my way as I'll only have 30mins between landing and the last train I can get to Dresden. Bonus that Circa Waves have a gig on the Monday as well.

The Stasi museum is worth a trip, but my recollection was that it had no English translation, so your enjoyment might be limited. However, this was about 5 years ago, so it could have well changed.

Anyway, Berlin is a cracking city. Fascinating history and good clubs. Fantastic combination.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

Spent a week in Oslo when Macc were over playing pre season games. Great city but as said above it is incredibly expensive.

The Stasi Museum had an English audio guide that required a deposit of 5 euros when I went last April.

I normally don't like the idea of tours but we went on the alternative one and it was really good. I assume it's the same one where you pay a tip at the end rather than before. Is the Stasi Museum the Prision? We went to East German prison and that was pretty good. Berlin's a brilliant city. :)

Thinking of going to Nice in September for a few days, anyone been?

Hohenschönhausen? That's different, but is also on my itinerary. The Stasi Museum is housed in the old Stasi HQ with Mielke's offices still as they were in the Stasi prime etc. I'll probably do both and the Tränenpalast on the day I see Circa Waves as the venue is next to the East Side gallery so can do a loop from my hostel.

Will probably do that Alternative tour then, glad you recommend!

Nice wasn't to my taste, but I personally find the whole French Riviera (and France) overrated. It's decent enough though. Monaco is worth a day trip.

Yeah we went to Hohenschonhausen, it was decent enough and the guide was really good, or it might have been a bit dull. I don't think we did the Stasi Museum then so might have to go when we are in Berlin during July.

Yeah we are unsure on what to do later in the year, we've done quite a lot of mainland and eastern Europe over the last 3 years so have been looking at somewhere a bit warmer potentially and cheap as we're trying to save too.

There is another stasi museum as well which is in the centre which is just a couple of rooms with stories about ordinary people and their interactions with the stasi. It's quite interesting and free to get in. It's near Trabant World.

In Krakow for 4 days right now, heading off to Lviv, Ukraine on Wednesday though which I'm looking forward to, mainly because of the prices.

Had plans to go to Kiev, but I arrived to Krakow a day later than planned and I have to be back by Tuesday in a weeks time. Would prefer to spend a lot of time in one city rather than rushing through.

I would also highly reccomend Agios Stefanos on the east coast and Kassiopi as they're both so picturesque and are both in my favourite places I've ever been to.

Take a lot of money with you. I went in the summer, one can of beer in a supermarket was 40KR, about £3.50.
I've got Dublin then Edinburgh booked up for May. Hoping to get out to Germany and Italy at some point in the summer as have friends there. Parents are going to Croatia as well so may gate-crash that holiday too.

I was going to start a travelling thread but I just found this so I thought I'd post here instead. Great story.

Anyway, I wanted to post to see if anyone on here had ever been to or worked in South Korea before? I know SonOfCod off of TFF worked there teaching English for a few years (does he post on here too?) and I'm now looking at doing the same and was wondering if anyone on here could share their experiences and possibly let me pick their brains about it. Cheers.

Going to Grenada for a couple of weeks in May. Great little island if anyone has ever been. Got some family out there to go and see.

Also going to west coast USA in October time. Hoping to see some American football and the F1 race out there. Also a small diversion to Vegas.

He is on here and still out there so send him a message as he might not see this post.
