So other than the game you enjoyed your day then? My reason for saying it was reasonably even in the first half was that you had two very good chances and should have got both, especially the one that went across the goal just in front of us. Yes, we were the better side, but you should/could have scored those two. Second half your players looked bored and ours turned it on. Number 18, our right back, is Oscar Threlkeld and often goes unsung, so good spot. Big difference for us was having Bradley back, defence was not perfect, but certainly better than the last two games as a result. Why did Kightly not start, he was clearly your best player?

Hope your journey back was safe and not too long.

Always enjoy the away day in Plymouth, one of the best in the country. Can make a weekend of it as well. I didn't not enjoy the game, particularly enjoyed watching Plymouth Argyle attack! what I didn't like was the Phil Brown away performance of this team a team who, bar 4 of them are out of contract in the summer. Chris Powell at least saw the worst of them yesterday and it's hopefully the end for a lot of them at Southend.

Kightly isn't fully fit, only came back from injury on the bench last week. You are right he is our best player (well outfield, goalkeeper Oxley has been by far the best player this season), sadly he can't stay fit long enough, he's a tough decision on whether you'd give him another contract.

Oxley pulled off a cracker of a save of a Carey free kick, I really thought it was in. Kightly exudes class. Enjoy your pasties.

We beat Walsall 1-0 yesterday and looked comfortable throughout all of it. That's three straight wins without conceding now and if we can beat Brazil tomorrow then I think we've got a decent chance of making the play-offs.

I worry for Walsall, though. Four straight defeats for them now and they were poor yesterday, barely mustering a noteworthy attempt on goal.

Walsall got ideas above their station.... by sacking a mid-table manager and replacing him with some semi-pro shite.

Today, Sunday, it is sunny and dry in codland. Pitch is in good nick so barring a 'weather bomb' can't see any problems with the match going ahead, IF your fans and team can get here. M6 is ALWAYS a nightmare, factor in the possibility of snow on the journey and it could be interesting.

As for the actual game, I am willing another cod win, which would promote me from the relegation thread, but I expect it to be a tough one.

We'll take them! That's if we can even manage a shot on target that is...
1 goal in 5 vs no goals in 4, it’s snowing and we’re playing on a saturated pitch with essentially no drainage, it’s going to be an epic (epic = slog)

Think we will lose at Fleetwood today - they’ve picked up some points/confidence recently

Must win for us though if we want to stat challenging for the play offs

Absolute must-win again today.
If we win we will be a maximum of 4 points behind the playoffs (if Scunny and Plymouth draw), or 3 points if one of them win.

Game off, very frustrating for the Plymouth fans who were travelling but not much we could do.

Do you have covers, some of the fans that got there are a bit unhappy that little appears to have been done? Don’t know if that would have made any difference, but the more legitimate gripe is that it took until 11.15 for an announcement by which time most of the official coaches were pretty close. Looking at the pic from your club taken at 10 it was pretty obvious it would be called off, and someone would be planting rice in the paddy field.

Yeah we have covers and they've been on prior to every game since about November. However, the rain is incredibly heavy and we don't have incredible drainage at the stadium so the water ends up not really going anywhere. The rain has been getting progressively heavier, not sure about the condition of the pitch but at like 8am the game might have been able to be on.

I understand Plymouth fans gripes as we all had the same ones when our game vs Charlton was called off last season.

That pic at 10 made it very clear the game would be off. The other thing annoying those on route is that when they went on to your website to get confirmation and nothing, until a few minutes ago so over an hour since the decision was made. Fortunately, our club and journos tweeted. Ultimately, you can’t legislate for the weather, but a lot are moaning that the fans, on probably the longest journey today, have not been treated well by the officials from the Iron.

Ours was called off quite early so I’m not sure as to why Scunny took so long. Rumour is that we are trying to rearrange ours for this Wednesday

We really are the most inconsistent side it’s unbelievable. Smashed 4-0 by Plymouth Friday in the worst performance now 4-0 up at half time 3 days later lol

1-0 down. Looks like season over then.
Lines sent off for two yellows in a minute both for arguing with the ref. Daft!
We go again next season

Another opponent just brushed aside under Lee Bowyer.

Karl Robinson really is a massive fuck head.

Wait till you see the replay.

Booked for arguing while facing the other direction and walking another way. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Turns out he’s the ref who also f*cked us at Blackburn away when Clarke had his goal disallowed for for being offside (the ref even apologized for DC after the game too).

What a referee! He shouldn’t be allowed to officiate

Predictably lost to Shrewsbury. A problem that has persisted over the season shows again, score a goal then concede pretty much immediately afterwards.

Big week next week now.

But there was surely no need for him to come running over mouthing off about a decision that didn't involve him. Poor from a player of his experience.
Can only assume Lines muttered something to himself whilst walking away which the ref heard

Go easy on us next week please. Can't handle a repeat of last season's game against you.

Cods v Gas

Good even first half both teams having a go, a poor challenge by Cods, Diagouraga, resulted in Rovers number 4 and 14 having a right go at the ref trying to get the player sent off, this sort of thing really pisses me off, regardless of the team involved. Beginning of the second half started well, following a tussele between Bolger and a Gas player, qued further mouthing off from the Rovers players to the ref. Again number 4 and 14 just kept on with the mouthing even after to ref spoke to them without taking action. In the end 14 said a few words to many and rightly got his marching orders.

Following the sending off, the Cods really went for it, with Hunter scoring a peach of a goal. Rovers then had to throw everyone forward leaving them open to quick breaks from the Cods. Rovers unlucky with a good shot that hit the bar, but their need to attack became their undoing as Jody Hiwula slotted in a neat goal.

Rovers looked a good footballing side, they lost this game not from the football side, nor the ref (personally thought he was too tolerant) but from some of their players attitude, arrogance and attempted gamesmanship. Good turn out by the Gas fans given the distance and weather, though not as vocal as many visiting supporters.

Posh beat our little bitches easily again...Whilst Cobblers have always dropped their pants for us, this is definitely the worst team they have had since they finally got back into Div 2....

Absolutely woeful. The only tactic Hasselbank came up with after half time was obviously 'get stuck in' which resulted in half a dozen bookings and a sending off (although it was never a sending off).

Oh well we probably wont see them for another decade after they go down.
