Lincoln worthy champions

2nd and 3rd to be fought out nip and tuck until the end of the season between Mansfield MK and bury.

Plenty of twists and turns between the rest of the season.

You gotta finish it off now and get the auto- Bury have fallen off a cliff, MK away at Tranmere next week! Chance to put some daylight between you and 3rd/4th.

1 more win to confirm promotion and 2 for the title.
Think you Mansfield were a premature at saying you'd blown it, seems it's Bury who've blown it.
Great day at the franchise.

Maybe, but our Achilles heel actually is against the lesser sides, which is why we’re nervous. The ground was so nervous today with 5 minutes to go, but we held out - if we can get a win at Northampton next week and there’s a draw at PP we’d have moved massively in the right direction.

Plenty of twists and turns yet though.

We need to beat Franchise next Saturday or that’ll be that for us and our top 3 challenge.

I will honestly settle for having a club to love next season, even if its AFC Bury.

What’s going on with you? I read in the manchester evening news about your supposed debt is that true?

Obviously I know you’ve had previous but I can’t really recall there being much the fans could have done (when can you)

Though we’re in a dogfight with you for promotion I really hope you fans end up alright - it’s never good to see

Even I think we might actually go up now!

Huge result today, gutted I couldn't be there. Atmosphere sounded great.

In all seriousness, I am not sure why anyone would think our automatic chances are over after today's results. We are a point closer to MK and Bury and the latter are in terrible form at the moment. Both teams still have to come to Prenton Park.

Of course, if the Dons beat us next week it is all over, but we will see.

Personally this was a better day than Coventry away last season- cracking day out and another one locked away in the memory banks for old age!

Massive debts, players and club staff not paid and wup in high court Wednesday for debt to ex assistant Brass.
Players have agreed to finish the season weather paid or not, came out fighting today and then somehow managed to get beat by 10 man Carlisle (for the 2nd time this season)
Fans bloody superb today but like like a lost cause.
We aint going up.

3rd Mansfield(41) - 72 points. Northampton(A), Morecambe(H), Oldham(A), Stevenage(H), MK Dons(A)

8th Carlisle(41) - 61 points. Stevenage(A), Lincoln(H), Grimsby(A), Crawley(H), Yeovil(A)
8th Colchester(41) - 60 points. Bury(A), Grimsby(H), Yeovil(A), MK Dons(H), Lincoln(A)
10th Swindon(40) - 58 points. Newport(A), Oldham(A), Cambridge(A), Crewe(H), Cheltenham(A), Notts County(H)

Working from bottom to top, Swindon stay 4 points away, but only drawing at home to Yeovil isn't going to cut it. 3 straight away games now, wonder if they'll be able to keep pace of even close the gap. Time is running out, need to make that game in hand count.

Colchester slip even further off the pace after losing to Oldham, their promotion bid is faltering by the week. Still, Bury away suddenly looks very tasty and they are only a couple of points off Exeter. Carlisle put themselves right back into the mix with a win against the aforementioned Bury. Couple of tricky games left before a favourable last 3. Can they break back into the top 7 before time runs out?

Exeter scrap out a point at Cheltenham and now have 3 winnable games. Big chance to cement their play-off spot with a good return. FGR keep their play-off push going by relying on their away form once again. Got to get some good returns from their next 2 home games though.

As for Tranmere, they finally hit a wall and only get 1 point from back to back away games. Not a terrible return, but it could be a fatal blow to their top 3 ambitions. Some very difficult games now, definitely need one more win to secure a top 7 spot. Bury though, boy oh boy what a difference a few weeks makes. Things looking rosy, a top 3 spot in the bag. Then, the usual money troubles surface, the morale drops because of this and the team lose 3 straight and now look like they'll have to settle for the play-offs. Crazy turn of events at Gigg Lane.

MK Dons were the last hope at a tight title race, but that all ended as they lost to Lincoln. Need to ensure they don't let a top 3 position slip as Bury could pick up at any time. Mansfield after looking cooked a couple of weeks ago are now 2nd. That battle for 2nd/3rd looks like it's going to the wire.

As for Lincoln, that's the title wrapped up. Fair play. Should be a fairly comfy cruise through their final 5 games. They can secure automatic promotion with a win next week at home to Cheltenham and even the title if both Mansfield and MK Dons drop points. They are very close now. Fair play, should be an enjoyable next few weeks for them.

Aside from that, the other races are still so close and could go either way.

Although we’ve probably got the toughest run in on paper, there’s still a few positives to take from it.

Our home form is better than away and the two most important games in MK and Bury are at home. Lincoln may have the title sewn up by the time we go to Sincil Bank so hopefully will take their foot off the gas slightly. There’s also an opportunity to get some revenge on FGR for the playoff final a couple of seasons ago. Just hope that game isn’t a repeat of the 1-0 defeat at Prenton Park in the games leading up to those playoffs.

Automatics still feels slightly out of our reach but a win next Saturday puts us back in a good position. I’m buzzing we’re even looking at the playoffs (barring an almighty collapse which I wouldn’t put past us) considering it’s our first season back in the league!

Our run in on paper* is so much easier than Bury, MK, Tranmere but that’s concerns me because we tend to struggle more against the lower end especially at home, Morecome and Stevenage to play at the Mill yet and I’m not looking forward to either of em!

Nearly there...

Unlikely, but an outside chance of promotion and the title next weekend if we win and Bury, MK and Mansfield all fail to do so.

Also a chance of us being promoted if we draw and Bury lose, I think?

Firstly, though, a win and we're done. No need to worry about anything else, we can enjoy these final handful of games.
