It doesn't necessarily show that at all. Relegation-threatened sides often find their form at this stage of the season. That combined with feel-good factor of a returning legend, and the honeymoon period that a new manager brings, is a potent medicine.

Exactly. Blackpool, Oldham, Shrewsbury, us and Chesterfield have all picked up 8-10 points in the last six games. It happens every year around this time when teams suddenly realise that if they don't buck their ideas up they'll actually get relegated.

We just left it too late this season.

Are Blackpool fans even bothered about stopping up?

Yes. I am. But the bigger picture matters more than anything else.

Blackpool are struggling to shift 1,200 so I imagine it will be ok.

You couldn't shift 1,800 tickets for your biggest away game in years at the Championship level. When the Oystons go, normality will resume and you'll be back to being insiginificant again. Like you have been in the past 15 odd years. Oh, and it was nice for your fans to turn up at away games this season. Makes a change. Blackburn looked like a fun proper away day.

Nice to have you back, been a bit dull without you giving it back!

Blackburn was quality, as were the wins at Bolton and Burnley :)

Looking at your squad, no one stands out. Grayson strikes again, average squad on paper.

Looking at the way you've been playing, you could keep this tempo into next season and have another failure at the Championship play offs. :)

Very much so, he's excellent at getting the best out of average players, much like Holloway did for your lot.

Nah I think next season will be a lot harder, especially if Newcastle and Sunderland come down. Plus expectation levels will rise with our idiot fanbase.

So apart from Shrewsbury no one's bothered about staying up at half time then?

Ours has Nil Nil written all over it

Town are getting dragged right back into this. We just don't do uneventful seasons down here.

Finally. After 3 months of hard graft Sheridan gets his reward and we pull clear for the first time in five months. The games in hand give us a bit of breathing space and the consistent hard working performances we are putting in can hopefully pull us safe.

Amazing result for Latics today. Good results elsewhere for a change. Get in.

We've still left it too late but Christ, every passing result makes you wonder if it can be done. Just a pain that others keep winning too.

That didn't do us any harm at all. All being well two positive results, or even one in the next two home games will see us pretty much safe.

Lovely result for us today.

Donny look dead and buried.

Colchester surely have left themselves too much to do.

Farewell Crewe.

Shrewsbury's run in looks horrific.

Well, we have our first faller, how apt on Grand National Day. Been coming for several years, finally happened. Crewe are down, heading to League Two. Fully deserved, can have no complaints. We now have 5 meaningless games, yipee. Colchester showing fight, but it looks to be too little too late. 8 points from safety, which is really 9. With only 15 to play for, I can't see them getting out of danger. Still, least they've bought themselves a few more weeks and have given their fans something to cheer for. Donny are L2 bound, can't stop losing, been no reaction to the managers comments. Oh well, least we'll balance out the north/south divide in L2 next season. Blackpool also looked doomed, should those above them win their games in hand, that should seal their fate. Still hope, but they will need at least 2 wins from their last 4, big ask at the moment.

Fleetwood pick up a big point against Southend, their home games are huge. Shrewsbury sliding, but I don't see who will replace them out of the bottom 4. Sheridan has worked wonders with Oldham, they should breeze to safety given their form. Chesterfield also picked up a huge win, they also look safe but have some work to do.

I'm not sure I can see a team in that bottom 4 currently having enough to get out of trouble. Colchester have too much ground to make up, as do Donny who can't buy a win. Blackpool's run in is tough, plus they've played an extra game that everyone else. I think the bottom 4 might stay the same from here on out. Thoughts?

The three poorest sides we've played on the day are the bottom three so no suprises there for me.

The last spot seems the only one up for grabs in fairness to Blackpool they pick up a few results here and there and the game with Fleetwood could be huge, Shrews have a tough run though. 1 from 4 now for that last spot.

No big prediction from me other than saying I think it's going to be one of Shrewsbury, Fleetwood or Blackpool joining the present bottom three.
The loser, if there is one, of the Fleetwood/Blackpool game is in serious bother.

Love how people are completely writing us out of the relegation battle now we have actually escaped the zone. We are far from safe and until it's mathematically impossible for us to go down I won't believe it. We are still in this

I can't see Blackpool picking up 3pts from those last 4 games tbh

Looking at the state of this league this year, I reckon had we had Shez back in August then we would be hovering around that top 6 area.

Be interesting to see how he is backed in the summer.

It's going to make the derby even tastier Fleetwood v Blackpool, loser could be relegated, I'd bloody love it if we sent them down after years of ridicule.

Really looking forward to our game next Saturday. Unfortunately, I can see a few of our idiots being in the home ends too.
