I think NXt is a massive amount of the problem, not a solution, but I can see why fans like NXT, but NXt is designed to remove identity from wrestlers who built a good career elsewhere, could you have imagined in 1999 if Jericho has been plucked from WCW and shoved into NXT for 2-3 years until he adapted to a set WWE built persona...............urrgh!

I don't slate the talent, I am sure you are right they have it around, but they drastically need to know how to use and how to build.

I think WWE need to start not just building for mania, I think it has become very lazy and leads to no ideas come June.....mania used to just write itself at the top.

I dunno though... isn't the network, like, the main source of income now? It seems well documented that they under charged for it and that it was hemorrhaging them money anyway... if everybody really has cancelled, even WM won't be able to keep that ship afloat. I do think that, for the first time, poor creative writing has genuinely affected a major source of income for WWE. Even with recent memories with fan reactions to poor decisions in mind, I'm not sure WWE has ever been rocked financially by these bad decision as much as they're being rocked now.

Titus O'Neil - reeeaalllllyyyyy?

Speaking of Titus... they totally tried to break the record for shortest time again there, didn't they? But they botched the fuck out of it. Just a small, withering cherry on top of the moldy cake that was the rumble.

Nobody from NXT as well.

I'm not going to write a big post as I agree with what people have said. Rollins is fucking brilliant.

My reaction to the rumble can be located in my signature.

Just read this properly and agree with most of what has been said, getting rid of Bryan was stupid, I knew Reigns would win so I'm not that bothered that he won, I was still looking forward to the PPV, but if you left Bryan, Ziggler, Wyatt and Big Show with Reigns at the end at least there would be some curiosity to how it would finish, I don't follow WWE as much as most on here and even I called how it would end. It was just so shit. I dread to think how bad Lesnar v Reigns would be at WM. I do wonder what they'd do with Bryan though, I can see him having a feud with Wyatt or something.

I think NXT is a problem, but not in that sense. It's used to develop and adapt wrestlers and their styles so they can have a legitimate chance at being a success in the WWE. The problem however is that it's given fans a glimpse of what wrestling can be, i.e. that fast fluid in-ring action and a move away from the big bodybuilder types whilst keeping that glossy production that WWE do really well. There's no horrific filler segments and if there are it's for proper character development reasons.

For me, that's the main problem NXT has caused and bringing in these really good actual wrestlers. It's right there what people want, right there and that's where the frustration comes from. There's been a definite shift from what people want from the product and it's not the zany personality-focused stuff that was popular and is still being pushed.

The network is eating money away at present but I feel sorry for WWE in that respect, it is a great idea and I think its good to see it out now, but its came about 8-9 years too late.

Me for example, a prime person for the network....hate the modern stuff, love the old stuff, it is ideal for me to watch the old and ignore the new, but the problem is its taken so long that people like me have got it all or seen it all and now don't need to spend money to see it......be quite afew in that group of good targets but already seen what they need to.

I think pricing is going to be the big thing down line to save Network, I hope it works as the idea is great, but I think they need to package it up so people pay certain prices for certain things than a set fee for everything.

McMahon needs to bury whatever big Hatchet he has with Jeff Jarrett and bring the guy into their creative.

He's the only one really who seems to know what modern fans do actually want, it was not Jarretts fault TNA switched away from his approach, he ran out of money, the power was taken from him and Carter/Spike made the choices.

but I disagree abit, I think its an arrogance thing with WWE< nothing else can be as great as something WWE produces and therefore you sign a top talent elsewhere they don't get pushed, they have to be re-packaged.

Prince Devitt for example has been wrestling in NJPW since 2006, won quite afew titles, is very well rated and has been about since 2000-2001. He does not need repackaed with a new crap name and treated like some developmental talent.

bring some in right away, some different styles, a different format, a different feel, if he then struggles yep take him away and work on a re-packaged wrestler.

I'm not going to pretend I know a lot about Devitt/Balor's past, but he'll be on the main roster soon along with Neville, Zayn and Steen.

The funny thing, you can imagine what WWE were saying in creative whilst booking this.

"Right, Bryan needs to be eliminated early so we don't have masses of boos later on in the match when the focus should be on Reigns. The fans will have forgotten about Bryan by then, don't worry......"

" A really cool ending will be let's have two 'monsters' chuck out all of the up and coming superstars to really get the crowd on their backs. Then we can have Reigns take them out and be the hero."

"Hmmmmmm, I wonder if the universe will buy that. I know, let's give the Rock a call, get him to come out and help Reigns. Everyone loves The Rock, it'll get Reigns onside...."

"And if that's not enough, let's have Rusev make a late shock recovery and for Reigns to eliminate him. Everyone hates Rusev, he's the big bad Russian that makes anti American promos. The fans will have to be on Reigns' side."

What WWE forget is that a large amount of us aren't 10 and have some intelligence. Bar 30 seconds of Rock nostalgia, that isn't going to make us buy into Reigns as a main event for WM. Bryan being eliminated is not going to make us forget about him. Shoving Big Show and Kane down our throat and burying your talent is not going to endear yourself to us.

You had your Wrestlemania main event last night WWE and you used it two PPVs early because your so fixated on 'the look' that you didn't realise that Seth Rollins has been the best performer in the company for the past year.

I have one hope left. Rollins cashes in on Lesnar before Wrestlemania. Lesnar activates his rematch clause for Wrestlemania. That way we get a triple threat at Mania (Rollins, Lesnar, Reigns) which may save the day match wise, although it's clear that whatever happens, Reigns is walking out as champ.

Piss off to retirement Vince you dinosaur.

They will yeah, you'd hope, Zayn's been in NXT for years now despite being one of the best wrestlers in the entire company. No excuse for Neville not getting called up, he doesn't need promos, just get him wrestling as a face and doing flips and shit and the crowd will love him, same with Devitt.

Curtis Axel is just waiting for his moment to eliminate Reigns and save us all.

Agree with the entire post Lee, but this part in particular. I said in the lead up to the rumble... everybody talks about who should main event WM and they usually tend to look at faces... Ambrose, Reigns, Bryan... but for me, Seth has owned the company since The Shield split up. If it were on merit, nobody deserves to be in that main event more than Rollins.

I agree with what Oaf said earlier about Reigns. He looked somewhat bewildered by the reaction of the fans, almost upset. I like him and think he has huge potential but the fans simply will not allow him to be the next super human Cena clone which has ruled the last number of years.

I really hope they don't go down that route with him. He's got monster heel potential, but not in the way they're appear to be heading right now please.

Raw has been cancelled tonight, due to weather in Hartford. Lucky WWE. 'something' will air instead though, be hilarious if they just replayed the Rumble

Apart from El Generico (who actually works better without the mask - great sympathetic baby face) the other indie stars have all retained their character. No more so than Steen. They may have understandably lost the names (in a post cm punk world, that's the right decision) but everything else remains.

So that rumble. What had been said to happen for months happened. It's why Reigns had promo time when injured. The worst part for me isnt Reigns winning the Rumble. It's that Lesnar destroying the streak is going to be wasted on putting Reigns over. That's been the entire plan for a year.

This generations Ziggler / Ryder / Bray Wyatt / soon to be Rusev / to an extent Punk having their momentum stopped by Cena, will be next generation Zayn, Balor, Owens never breaking through due to super face Reigns. The writings on the wall, and it's sickening.

I'd also argue that last years WM wasn't affected so much by crowd reactions to Batista as it was to the shock of Punk walking out. It screamed of making a point to Punk that Bryan had his spot. Other than Heyman, I don't see anyone causing the same waves

Nah there's a massive Blizzard dropping 2ft of snow over the northeast US at the moment, so they are cancelling it for that reason. However, it's probably a good thing.

No pc at the minute so cant give my full views but in summary fucking atrocious the booking the whole way through was just unbelievably bad. Im actually furious at the way they done it. Its not even bryan not winning but dumping him out so early and having kane and fucking big show KANE AND BIG SHOW destroy all up and comers ryback ambrose wyatt ziggler it was fucking disgraceful did ziggler even get 5 mins? Not even rock could get reigns cheers because it was indeed bullshit. Vince must have lost his mind how anyone agreed to that booking i dont know. Reigns could still have won but the way theyve done it literally noone comes out of that ppv looking good besides part timer lesnar and rollins. Everyone elae was made to look shit. Just no defending it

Raw still going ahead as planned according to the latest update, however, the state of Connecticut has a travel ban after 2100hrs tonight, so the Arena is likely to be empty, or very little fans
