The End is Nigh!

The games tonight will be pivotal, but the whole season has been a shit show from my team and if we go down it'll be because of our major share holder (going soon hopefully) and that idiot Holloway (who most of us believed).

We are far and away the 22nd best team in this division.

Byyyeeee, see you in, sorry, see you when Ron leaves.

Overwhelming emotion for me is relief, would have been better if we'd continued playing the yoofs, tanked it and went down at Xmas.
Hope we put out a full youth side for the last 3 games. I quite frankly don't want to ever see any of these c*** in a Southend shirt ever again.

Thankfully with new owners coming in who actually care about the club we will be in a much better position despite being a league lower, and when we do eventually get back into the league I’m confident now we will never get in this position again.
And if it takes another 6 years then so be it, Fenty is finally on his way out so instead of being gutted about relegation I’m looking at it much more positively.

What a relief.
I can imagine, I try not to get too carried away with emotion with football but the threat of relegation from this division is among the worst feelings in sport.

Feel for Grimsby and Sarfend fans after last night's result just about condemned them to non league football.

Must be a horrible deflating feeling, I am just thankful we pulled away from the dreaded drop zone.

We looked like a non-league side last night, as we have for a lot of this season. We've improved lately and sometimes been unlucky, but Morecambe were far better than us and we can't have any excuses with the 0-3 defeat. Really annoyed with Holloway and Fenty for letting us get into this position.

Be a tough league next season with a mix of Notts, Stockport, Wrexham, Hartlepool, Chesterfield, Grimsby, Torquay and any 'smaller' club(s) who surprise everyone.

Will be interesting to see if Hurst allows himself to take the handbrake off next season and give it a go.

Out of interest why was it Holloways fault? I always thought it was because he blew all your budget on non league players and then saw what he got wrong and the club got wrong behind the scenes, then left using the potential new owners as a smokescreen to cover up his mistakes?

One blessing about going down is we won't have to listen to the Vale fans all summer claiming how brilliant they will be because they won a few games at the end of the season when they had nothing left to play for.

He promised so much, claiming he wanted to build a legacy, etc, etc. Here for the long haul, going to move up to North East Lincolnshire, put £100,000 of his own money into the club, have a seat on the board and give us a team to be proud of.

Ian Holloway could change his name to Walter Mitty and it would fit perfectly, as he believes what he says (sadly so did most of us Grimsby supporters).

I always said there is only one club that Holloway supports and that is us. His blood runs "Blue & White " quarters and he was never ever going to give Grimsby what he stated in the media. He just could'nt. One thing he did for us was to take Kyle Bennett and hopefully he stays up north. Holloway is Gas through & through.

If Barrow beat Tranmere today then it's all over bar the shouting. Southend will be down and Grimsby will only be able to survive by overcoming a massive goal difference

Grimsby would still be able to relegate Colchester or Scunthorpe under that scenario

If Carlsberg did final days then Southend and Grimsby stay up with Barrow and Scunny relegated

Still a big chance we will go down, if we lose against FGR which we probably will based off the last three games, we will probably bottle it against Southend and then it's down to the final game.

So Southend have to win their final 2 to have a chance to stay up because of GD.
Grimsby have to win two and draw 1 to go past Barrow or win all three to go past Scunny or Colchester.

Barrow, Scunny and Colchester just need one win from their final games to guarantee staying up

We are still in trouble.

We won't pick up another point this season so relying on other results

Well we're in the same boat, so you can probably relax.

In our quest to bag that final point or two to make us safe, we've managed about two shots on target from three games.
