Just looked at the bottom four run-in and Barrow, Southend and Colchester all play each other but Barrow's the toughest run in IMO.

We've been too negative over the last couple of games, there's players that should be starting every week that are only on the bench. Play them regularly, and there's a good chance we will get another 3 wins from our final 10 games.

When we lose at Bolton on Friday, it will be one win in the past 23 games for us - literally one win in half a season. How we're not already adrift at the bottom is ridiculous.

We've only won one away game all season and have Bolton, Oldham, Cheltenham and Tranmere to come. Oldham looks like a potentially winnable game until you factor in the embarrassing away record.

So for us it all comes down to our home games, all of which should be completely winnable with three six-pointers thrown in there: Barrow, Walsall, Southend and Salford. If Southend are within touching distance when we play them then it will be A) the biggest Essex derby of all-time, and B) the game to relegate us if we lose, knowing we then finish the season with games against Cheltenham, Salford and Tranmere.
The Conference is so different to when you were last down there.

Nobody knows what a tough run-in is, because the top teams want to chuck away so many points and the ones you expect to beat comfortably end up grinding out wins. We beat Cheltenham and then lost to Grimsby the next week.

We've got Port Vale, Colchester and Southend to play, so on paper we've got winnable games - I'd be surprised if we won more than one of those.

We've also got games in hand, which obviously gives us more chance of a surprise win.

I think whoever has the most mid-table teams to play rather than the 'weaker' teams probably has the easier run-in.

Reckon we might go four at the back?

Both Barrow and Southend have home games to come against Carlisle.

Potentially, although I don't see who would play out wide other than Kay, I don't think Barry is good enough to be anything more than a wing back. Haven't seen enough of Bramall to suggest he warrants a starting place. We could play some form of midfield diamond with Jason Taylor in front of the defence with Devitt behind the strikers, but that unfortunately means one of Beadling or Chris Taylor would have to play.

I know it's only a prediction table but FootballWebPages has you finishing on 50 points 13 points clear of Southend and Grimsby and above three other clubs

I doubt FootballWebPages saw the shite we served up in the last two games...

I was thinking more of a 4-3-3, which we tried at points during some of J*lley's matches. It went a bit that way yesterday after all the changes so that's why I think Kelly might consider it - I could see Eardley and Brough at full-back, and two from James, Devitt and Kay supporting Quigley.

Don't be so negative. Are you so positive you'll go down. How much would you put on it?
I don't know if we'll go down, but it will be a lot closer than most people seem to think - even when we were winning, the performances barely yielded more than one or two shots on goal, and we had a fair degree of luck. If anything, I'm suggesting we're equally as bad as the teams below us.

I’d have to disagree with that as we still have 6 of the top 10 left to play, haven’t looked at Barrow’s fixtures but they surely can’t be tougher than those?

For half a season we've been averaging around 0.5ppg, so on that basis even if we don't improve we should still get around four more points meaning Southend and Grimsby would need three and four more wins respectively to overtake us.

Can't remember exactly but something like FGR, Newport, Exeter (twice), Tranmere, maybe Orient who're sniffing the PO's.

Colchester have barrow southend and walsall i believe, given they’ve won 1 in 21 those games will decide their fate probably.

Thought barrow had got out of it with those wins , though a win from their games in hand will do them no harm.

Mansfield have decided get out of it by just drawing all the time, 44 is about the mark i thought you’d need to stop up, though i’d prefer not to try it out

Walsall downwards now I think. I just get the feeling they are in serious danger. Their chairman has seemed very complacent about their league position keeping a guy who is clearly out of his depth in position and with no experienced help.

Barrow I think will do just enough with their games in hand, even a draw or two wouldn't be the worst for them.

I think in the case of at least one of Grimsby and Southend I can well see a scenario that it is ultimately that goal difference of theirs which costs them in the end. The only one that is even feasible to get close to is Colchester on that score.

I still think it’ll probably be the bottom 2, they haven’t scored anything like the goals needed or deserving of staying up really.

Grimsby have the run in that looks likely to send them down, that probabilities site suggests Southend are about 70% likely but Colchester nearly 30% so looks between them.

Pleasingly Vale are now 0.3%! The Valiant in me will still worry even if we are 15 points with a 30 goal difference advantage with 5 games to go though!

Walsall fans were laughing at us when we paid 6 figures for Clarke but they look in absolute free fall. Their chairman seems almost Smurf like claiming they’d done a mock interview for the interim before DC left etc. Now they’ve plummeted but might just scrape by. I think Colchester have the rough run in but Southend don’t score enough goals despite their result and draws in recent weeks. If they score 3 or 4 in their last 8 which would be more I think than their previous 8 it wouldn’t likely be enough.

Barrow although unpopular due to the way they furloughed staff I think will have enough about them to get through. Kelly will grind them a few results.

Everyone we furloughed have come back since we fucked Jolley off I believe - doesn't excuse it in the first place IMO though.

Yeah, i think us 2 on 44 should, should be safe.

Though i’d prefer not to try it out!

I think losing Rooney to Stockport was a big blow to Barrow. They got a lot more out of him than when he was with us. I think he missed more penalties than he scored in his time with us, but scored the occasional worldie.

There is a strong rumour that one of the 3 people due to take us over has pulled out. Tom Shutes supposedly pulled out via email yesterday, the day it was due to be signed.

Couldn’t Fucking write it and this could genuinely be the end of us if Fenty stays in charge.

(Not a shit April fool either, came to light last night)

Does it matter if the other two are still cracking on with it? Presumably a bit of a delay re-doing the paperwork but unless Shutes was the money it should still happen?

I always got the impression Shutes was more interested in the development side of things. He seems to have been making all the right noises for supporters for years without actually doing anything.

Depends how much he was personally investing and if Stockwood and Pettit have the cash to cover both that and future expenses.
Those two are both fans of the club so it’s a bit of home but it looks glum

You don't need lots of money. You need people who can run it sensibly and give you something to make you feel positive about the future. Thats clearly two things you lack now.

They’ve agreed a price of 2.5m though, meaning they’re almost certainly now around 833k short
