Aye, we’re staying up now Shez is back. Carlisle right back in it for my money

The Jurassic John & Tommy Wrong'un dream team back in action I see. It will be interesting to see just how much of a kick up the backside that does for Oldham as clearly he has done so well there in the past. Obviously I can only go on his tenure last season in league 1 that was catastrophic but presumably he'll go back to basics with Oldham, (I assume he doesn't have anything else in his play book) attempt to instill some good old fashioned pash'un and hope for the best. It's a real quandry as I really want to see him fail but at the same time I want Oldham to stay up.

Unfortunately for you I think both of the things you don’t want to happen, will. I reckon we’ll give a good fist of it now and Shez won’t be deemed a failure but I still think we’ll go down - it’s a huge gap to try and bridge with no new signings. You won’t have listened to his interview but he does sound in a good place mentally - he accepted his last few jobs went badly and that the game has changed and he needs to adapt slightly with it.

Feel good factor could play a part for us now too but that relies on positive results in our next 2. We’ve already sold 750 for Scunnny away week after next which would never have happened before his appointment.

One thing that our fans seemed to have forgotten is that Sheridan tragically lost both his parents (to Covid I think) during his tenure as our manager and so going out and having to watch our shower lose week in and week out in front of empty stadiums must have been absolutely demoralising. Regardless of how he performed, he is a human being after all and so to even carry on the job he surely gets credit. Reading between the lines also, things were not good at the club, we had to rent an old double decker bus to go to Ipswich, (we won, go figure!!) the medical staff and facilities were non-existant, it was all a big mess. Of course football fans generally don't look at the bigger picture and just see the win %. Scunny away is massive, huge '6 pointer'

But he was happy to go along with all the shit. In my eyes he was carrying out Power’s orders to ensure we got relegated.

How any, supposed, football person can countenance that just for a pay packet is beyond me. Anyone with an ounce of pride in his job would have told Power to stick it and walk.

Our Chairman has accepted relegation and so have all the fanbase at this point, you'd be hard pressed to find a single fan at the game who thinks we stand a chance of survival.
Expect Liam Feeney to turn up soon. Released by Tranmere.

And only allowed to offer 1 year contracts. (and 1 year contract extensions)
Im surprised McKirdy signed a new deal. His stock must be quite high especially after scoring against Man City. He could have took a nice signing on fee from a bigger club in the summer

Bigger club? Cheeky fucker!

Tbh, he’s a marmite player. He has to be at a club that treats him on and off the pitch in a certain way. His previous clubs either couldn’t or wouldn’t do that. He’s now found a place where his ‘eccentricities’ are accepted. Probably needs to grow up a bit, but he’s in a happy place in his personal and professional life. Why chance it?

I think ID alluded to it but McKirdy is the type of player that has to be managed properly given his personality. I believe he was doing well at Carlisle until an incident with supporters and it never really happened at Port Vale at all. He appears to have found some form, is scoring goals and his off the field antics appear not to be curbed in anyway (although he did quite Twitter after less than a week) so it's a bit of a no brainer for him I guess.

I suspect the list of clubs that could be arsed with making an effort with him is probably less than a small handful.

From some of your comments -- He reminds me of a poor mans Robin Friday.

Ah now there was a footballer. He was well before my time but I've spent time reading about him and he sounds amazing. Harry is nowhere near on the same scale, but you do get the feeling he just doesn't give a shit, and some of the outfits he wears are, well unusual. In his last Instagram post he was wearing a hat that looked like a lampshade. I'm definitely on the fence with having such a player. When it's going well you get the amazing highs, but the lows are likely to blow up in our face!

There’s enough bland, whack-a-mole type players. Tbf to Garner he has managed to harness his playing quality very well. Gone from journeyman, weird footballer to a club asset.

Maybe stubbing a fag out in his eye wouldn’t have worked.

Wouldn’t be surprised if 46 points kept you up this year. That would mean you only would need 1.42 ppg.

15 years later and your last minute equaliser against us that year when we had 9 men still annoys me
Got me looking at the final table - Brentford bottom and relegated to L2 with Brighton and Bournemouth in 18th and 19th whilst Scunny (1st), Yeovil (5th) and Latics (6th) could all be facing each other in non league next season

Massively raises up the average age of our squad that
Unless Feeney has got really shit over the last couple of years, that looks a good signing.

It certainly seems like Carlisle are taking their football league status the least serious out of all the relegation candidates which is not surprising given the inept clowns running the show.

His legs have gone but if Scunthorpe have anyone that’s a fox in the box / poacher type he will do well for them.

I would be worried if I was a Barrow fan..

If 2 teams finish below this shower of shit it will be a miracle.

The fact other teams around us have acted in this transfer market by signing some proven experience, where as our answer to the glaring goal scoring hole in our team is signing a “striker” with 0 career goals who Leyton Orient chased for being shit.

I said after our little “revival” a few weeks ago that there was an element of good fortune in those wins and once this run of tougher games comes about we’ll be back to the usual pathetic toothless shit. And low and behold, here we are. 2 days left of this transfer window to try and prevent what would be a club killing relegation.

We're dropping like a stone, can't score and always conspire to concede. 5 losses in a row.

Found out the other day Darren Deadman was sacked as a referee a few years back. Never forget, brilliant

I think Scunthorpe might just get out of this position with the business they’ve done. Plenty of experience brought in which is what you need in a relegation scrap.

Hill is a good manager and now he has the tools to show it.

I’m glad I took the generous 12/1 odds on Carlisle United’s relegation when they were available a few weeks ago.

I stand to take nearly 2 grand in compensation when the inevitable relegation happens. It will be a dark day, but the money will be small consolation.

This team is the worst in the league. 3rd bottom now, big opportunity for one of Scunthorpe or Oldham to capitalise on how utterly pathetic we are.

I don't think we ever had this gap at any point last season, and it's now probably the biggest it's been all of this season too. Hopefully we can pick up a couple more results in the next 3 or 4 games and pull ourselves into the Mid-Table Cup picture. Fully expecting to be brought back down to Earth on Saturday though.
