Warnock's a shit head.

He is and everybody knows it, that's why I like him. Amazes me that people still get annoyed after playing his teams, you know what you're getting so just deal with it and get on with the game.

I hope it's Lee Johnson just to see the meltdown. Also I like Warnock.

That would be fun. Sorry to the Brizzle lot, but your meltdowns would be hilarious, some were bad enough after Kodjia ffs.

It was mostly Twitter Brizzle City fans I will admit, but it gave me a lot of amusement.

Wouldn't blame villa if they did approach Johnson, quality young manger in my opinion... whether the approach would be accepted though is a different matter.

As said with Kodjia, £££££££££ talks.

On another note though, odds have SHARPLY dropped on Bruce, with the best odds you can get on him being 19/20, worst being 3/10.

He doesn't annoy me, in fact it's the opposite, I love getting a result against his teams and seeing him act a twat.

Meltdown after getting £15m for a Championship striker? Most I spoke to were more than happy with the deal.

Obviously on my end, I was seeing more form the Villa fans' side, and we're going to bring to attention the more amusing ones.

Bit late but can't say the Di Matteo sacking isn't surprising, the Villa chairman is a fruit loop but after spending 60M quid in the second tier you'd expect better than being sat close to the relegation spots, although as I've said before the years of mismanagement will take time to be fixed. Steve Bruce is surely the man for the job, promotions on CV at this level and has done well with a budget at Hull.

As for Paul Trollope at Cardiff that was obvious, was never the right appointment for me in the first place. Took control of a side that finished 8th last season so to be in the bottom 3 is a poor effort although I think they overachieved last season, Warnock is an ideal appointment. He's not going to take them down but with his age can only see a short term stay there, and of course that's a guarenteed 6 points from us for Cardiff.

How many times will players be elbowed in the face and dragged to the floor at corners.... I'm going 5.
All depends how many times one of your lot try winding up O'Keefe or Peltier!

You've still got some very good individuals. Manga, Ralls, O'Keefe, Lambert etc. Not a chance you'll struggle under Warnock now.
Mange & Ralls have been very suspect this season, the latter especially. If Ralls doesn't get his head out his arse sharpish he'll be one of the first names dropped. O'Keefe has come back just in time as well, I think he likes you lot for some reason. :bg1:

A sentiment pretty much every City fan shares. When Slade went he should have as well and we had a fresh start. The overachieved I'd argue against though. A majority of the squad from the promotion/prem season were still about. Not to mention the players we brought in when we went down. There were only a couple of times last season where I thought we showed what we were capable of. The fact that we are where we are at the moment is truly shocking, Though I'm certainly feeling a lot more confident than I was this time last week!

Interview in the Bristol Post with LJ today, was asked about the Villa job and he said he's going nowhere anytime soon. As expected.

And most Villa fans will remember a certain player who stated he was committed to Villa, only to leave for Man City shortly after.

I won't be satisfied till the position is filled.

Yeah- not being funny, but what else is he meant to say? Here's on a shortlist of 10 names, would be crazy to tell journos that he wants the job as risks alienating his current club, everything he's said so far is just standard protocol. That doesn't mean he's going, but it shouldn't fill you with confidence that he isn't, either.

He contacted the Bristol Post himself to reassure supporters that he is not interested, the question wasn't posed to him. He's not going anywhere, when he joined Oldham he was asked "where do you aspire to be?" and he answered that he wanted to manage us, probably to succeed in doing what his old man didn't.

It's not being biased or deluded, if it was still Cotterill in charge and we were in the same position I'd say yeah he'd probably be tempted, same as any other manager who didn't have ties to the club.

That's your opinion, and that's assuming the approach is even accepted.

If he went to Villa and didn't turn it around he'd have had four jobs and no achievements to show in any of them, it'd be a stupid move.

Keith Hill made a similar statement before leaving Rochdale for us in what was the biggest mistake of his career so far.

Don't think Johnson will end up at Villa though. Doubt they'll even get that far down their wish list before getting their man.

I think they'll end up with Bruce anyway, would be a sensible appointment and would probably give that squad a proper shake up.

Yeah from an outside view expecting it to be Bruce. Keeping them up then he'd be in a fairly similar position to which he had with Hull.

Villa are still well within a chance of a play-off push, only takes a good two months to climb into the mix.

Bruce is a good manager at this level and i'd expect him to get them on track, if appointed.

That said, Villa aren't a normal club and have ruined plenty of managerial careers.

Course they are, it's early in October. Look what Barnsley did in the league below last year.

Money talks but its a whole different thing between a player and a manager.

Kodjia has 5 or so years at this level, Johnson has 25-30 years of management left in him.

He is one of the higher rated young English coaches and it would be utter stupidity to throw away what he has done so far here in order to go and work for a nutter in Birmingham, potentially risking his reputation at the same time.
I know people will draw comparisons to Barnsley, but LJ has always wanted to manage us since he was a player here, described getting the job as "returning home" and has just today said he is 100% committed.

Why is Tony Xia always referred to as "nutter" or something of similar ilk?

Yes, he's a little elaborate on social media, but he's a foreign owner new to the game and has the right intentions for a big club and is putting his money where his mouth is.

Referring back to the thread topic (sort of) I thought the sacking of RDM was justified, and it's an ideal time for Villa as they will have had two weeks to get in a replacement before the next game.

:dk:

I fail to see anything 'nutty' he's done other than, as you said, his social media presence, but to be honest I personally love it and feel it's a nice change to our old owner who you wouldn't have known if he'd died and dropped off the face of the Earth.

According to Dr Tony himself, we've reduced our list over the last week from 25 to 10 to 3 to 2 now. So in light of that, we should surely have the new man in charge for Wolves. Bruce has reportedly been for an interview today too.

If you get a new manager in time for our game, along with being on Sky TV I think it's a nailed on home win. Even more so if Richard Stearman starts.

Hopefully... We haven't had a honeymoon period for a while though. Tim was the last manager to have one.
