Positive that Tranmere were unable to really create anything against our XI men, but looking back at their recent results they haven't been scoring against anyone really so maybe not that great. Would prefer more possession at home but when you're 2-0 at half time when things are equal it doesn't matter too much.

65% possession and no goals? Olé!

Tbh I can't see too many complaints with our penalty, the red card or the "foul" on Pope leading up to their first. Possibly the conditions meant Joyce couldn't control his challenge and the red was harsh but meh. Maybe some doubt but can see why the ref's made those decisions. No idea on Tranmere's disallowed one though. Thought Legge kicked it against Tranmere's lad for the pen but he obviously went down convincingly enough for the ref.

Just gotta forget that one and regroup for Scunny
Legge is furious on Twitter, says their lad missed the ball and actually kicked him.

Foul on Pope is clear as day, shove in the back when you see it back. Crucial moment as that goal changed the game.

Not sure why Clark is steaming with Sproson though?

Either way need a serious look at our defending at the end, their lad drifts on the back post for their third when we are seeing out a lead in injury time is criminal. Gambled to much for trying to win to get done for the 4th.

Not sure why he doesn’t throw Brisley on for the last part of the game to see it out.

Deservedly lost against Colchester, no idea why Ross Embleton decided that after 3 clean sheets in 4 games and narrowly losing to FGR and Newport it would be a good idea to change formation and the personnel - baffling descions from him.

Our back three looked uncomfortable all game and Colchester should've had more than two, particularly second half. First half we looked ok on the ball and as usual we pulled the opposition about in spells, but didn't create enough, with us missing Danny Johnson up front.

Second half Colchester worked very hard to press us and keep us off the ball and Jevani Brown should've had his third hatrick in two weeks, he kept getting in behind us time and time again.

Scored a scuffed consolation which means we continue our scoring streak, but myself and all our supporters are wondering why after resting several players and falling a tad short against better sides he'd just completely tear the plan up and start again.

Well Askey has pretty much said he has no complaints about Joyce's sending off and I think he is right ultimately. You can argue if it should have been a yellow but they were clearly in the ear of the referee at halftime and then he foolishly gave him a decision to make. Same as with Ricky Miller against Carlisle a couple of years ago, just wasn't a smart thing to do.

Will be over the result tomorrow and on to the next etc but our lack of gamesmanship at times is really hurting us and it showed up big time here. Other teams who are a bit more streetwise would have been going to ground feigning injuries etc to break up the play but we don't do that and need to realise there is nothing wrong with doing it.

Fair play to Tranmere though. Remember many moons ago we won a game in similar fashion to that against Northampton and there are few better feelings. Not so good on the other end.

Cambridge very poor today and Barrow deserved to win. Annoying to concede with the last kick though and through some awful defending.

Weren't at the races all game but still avoided defeat, which is a positive I suppose.

I thought we were the better side in general play pretty much all game and deserved the win, regardless of the eccentric refereeing that affected both sides. Vale's penalty should not have been given and Vaughan's disallowed goal looked perfectly OK to me as well.

A huge result for us, which puts us within touching distance of the promotion pack.

I said it would not finish nil nil.
Let's face facts, we win that game without the sending off. We were pretty comfortable. Sending off was soft but so was our penalty. There's no way we shouldn't be seeing out the win with 4 minutes left, 10 men or not. Thought Tranmere would be up there before the season and I think they just had a shite manager.

The ref was awful and missed a clear foul on Pope in the build up to Tranmeres first. If there's ever 2 penalties and a sending off in any game you can assume the ref has had a stinker. Tranmere were good at getting in his ear, feigning injury, which we never do and in injury time we should really be cheating, going down wasting time.

Anyway, if we win Tuesday we go joint 3rd, so not a disaster but we need to shake off the disappointment quickly.

Yep, outplayed a team that could've moved top of the league today, so I'm inclined to agree with you.
I’m just saying what other barrow fans have said after pretty much every time they’ve dropped points. I haven’t seen the games but from what I’ve read barrow should have won all their games and be run away leaders at the top

A couple of Cambridge have already posted on here the same opinion and it appears to be the general view on their forum and Twitter that Barrow were the better team. But don’t let that stop you.

Don’t worry I won’t. As i say, I’ve only seen one of your games so for the rest I can only go on what I’ve read from barrow fans that they should have won every game this season.

Look at this “clear as day” foul on Pope.

Deluded VF16 strikes again, maybe he just needs new glasses.

To be fair, the Carlisle was probably the poorest this season. Grimsby and Newport we also didn’t deserve anything but as said previously, we are still yet to lose a game by more than 1 goal which does show that generally, we have been competitive and definitely should have more points than we do.

That's a clear as day foul on Pope and the red card should have been a yellow.

Got to love Vale fans, fair play.

As for us, great to be back to winning ways in the League, can't argue with that result at all.
Bet you shit a brick when it fell to Gav Reilly 6 yards out though. 2-2 would have been harsh on you.

Best we’ve faced so far and we’ve played almost everyone in the top 10.

I didn't watch it unfortunately, but I've just seen it and I can't believe he missed. Like you said, a proper shit the bed moment.

Managed to catch up with the highlights of Vale v Rovers

Vale penalty shouldn't have been awarded, their player seeks to make contact with Spearing.
Well-worked second goal.
Red card merited, though ref quick to reach for the card.
Not convinced there was a foul on Pope in the build-up to Rovers first, he cuts across Blackett-Taylor and goes to ground very easily.
Unclear why Vaughan goal disallowed from the footage.
Rovers penalty debatable. It wasn't as dubious as the Vale one but probably not awarded if Vale hadn't been given theirs.
Vale 3rd, good header but Rovers have form for switching off at set pieces.
Couldn't say if 6 minutes added time was merited, but with the subs and goals scored should be at least 4 and Woolery's scored in that. Kieron Morris' screamer worthy of winning any game.

Vale will at least make the play-offs maybe more. Rovers playing catch-up after our poor start, so harder to call, but this squad in the top seven for L2.

I don't agree it was a given that you would win with eleven men. As I have said, we were the better side in general play all game and you created very little aside from the set plays.

With the attacking players we had on the pitch today we would have created chances at some stage, and we actually hit the bar prior to the award of your penalty, which should not have been given.

On balance, I think we deserved the victory irrespective of refereeing decisions, which were poor for both sides.
