Seems like this is going to be the first 'big' game of this gen. Gamespot have given it a 10 and IGN a 9.3 (for the little that's worth nowadays).

Rumour is the fucker takes up to 200 hours to 100% as well. Which is a bit mental and to me, actually is a bit of a turn-off. Stuff like Skyrim and Dragon Age aren't my kinda thing but I can see myself giving this a whirl at some point.

Played the first two and thought they were absolutely fucking crap. Passing on this. Pretty though.

The game seems to become great.
Well I like Dragon Age Inquistion, not as much as Dragon Age Origins but 90 hours and not even played half of the main quests is ok!

The only problem I could image could be the controls with gamepad and mouse/keyboard - seems to be not good enough

I guess too much to read ^^

The controls were crap in the first game.

And in the second controls and the quick-time events were annoying - the graphics were awesome and the rest of the game

Well there is to say that the 200 hours refer to the main quest and all side quests. So you don't have to do them.
But the dufference to Skyrim or Inquisition is that there are no collecting quests or move to A and then to B to kill someone. Every side quest should have its own story and consequences. Thats what the developers said - we'l see.

Witcher 1 and 2 were superb, really can't wait for this, but when i do get it i can practically say i won't be playing another game for several weeks/months until it's finished

Still need to get around to playing The Witcher 2... bought it years ago in a steam sale but never got into it. But I don't see myself playing it while I'm still trying to get through Dragon Age Inquisition... so yeah. It's gonna be a while until I give The Witcher 3 a try.

Going to give this one a go, looks good, been watching LPs of the originals to get a grip with the plot and that is enjoyable too.

i've had about 7 because they keep sending me shite, then i tried cutting it to top 3 games then i have to wait 2 weeks until i get a game, i've complained numerous times, i've accumulated enough points for 2 free rental months, so now i've gone for 2 at a time and priority, weirdly still waiting for games longer than 4 days

had Bloodborne in my top 3 for weeks, not had a chance of getting it!

good idea, but they need far more games to appease demand

That's astonishing but the actual gameplay still only looks slightly higher rez than previous gen graphics. Seems like we're still a few years away from unlocking the most out of the current gen.

Compare what it was
to what it is

The early gameplay videos showed us probably the prettiest open-world* game ever made (modded Skyrim perhaps beats it). A lot of angry speculation that what we're getting on release is a downgraded version made because of console constraints. On the other hand the devs are saying the earlier trailers were just completely polished showcases and not at all a playable game. I think it's probably somewhere in the middle.

I've come to expect the PC version of multi-platform releases to suffer on the visual front, but in rare cases you get studios who seem to value what the PC can do and are pulling out all the stops. For whatever reason (probably time or cost), I feel they had to rein themselves in to make the game run on every platform. I didn't invest in a powerful PC just to ogle at polygon counts, and generally I value art-design as the most important aspect of visuals in a game, but I won't say I don't feel a bit disappointed with this supposed "downgrade".

* Generally, triple-A FPS games will have the most detailed graphics on the market, but a first person game is essentially on-rails, so your field of view is all the game needs to generate. An open-world game has to be generating everything you can see in every direction. Gamers are smart enough to appreciate this, which is why the visuals in this game were (and still are) generating a whole lotta hype. For what it is, it was jaw-dropping in the earlier videos and still extremely pretty right now.

I'm sure I'll still be wide-eyed and slack-jawed when I play tomorrow.

Geralt: "before we go, tell me your story"
Hunter: "they banished me from town, I'm a freak"
"so am I"
"no, not like you"
"if you're a werewolf, I can help. I've had experience dealing with it in the past"
"I'm gay. I was found shagging the lord's son in the barn"
"let's go."

Haha I passed that bit yesterday, raised a chuckle. The NPC's and voice acting in this game are really strong, and I like that.

The controls/movement feel incredibly clunky at times, especially when you're on Roach or swimming. Fuck the swimming. Awesome installment to the series though besides that.

Hmmm.... first I was annoyed because of that controls especially in/at fights (whatever;)) But now I got it right and I like it more than in DA:I where you only run through hacking and slaying. In TW3 you have to fight carefully and CHOOSE WISELY (sorry for that - like that phrase) who to fight.

I'm only at the start in the first village but soon I'll have all the small missions done and the gryphon (is that right for the monster?) will be next!

Hope all of you enjoy the game as I do!

PS Has anyone read the books or reads them actually?

Currently reading them now, and really enjoying them. See, pretty well translated too.
Enjoying the game but not getting enough time to play it really.
