Dont know if Deeney is nursing a niggle or this is tactical but Watford should go 4 4 2, they're making the mistake we did against Man City at home. Ighalo isnt getting any support at all.

Couple of megs from Capoue puts Ighalo in 1v1 incorrectly called off.

Refereeing was kind of dubious mainly about some not given penalties, anyhow none of the teams could properly flow their game. Thumbs up to Trippier who seemed to be the best man on field and finally got a goal he deserved through a great assistance from Alli that entered the match few minutes before and showed once more his relevance to Spurs. Gomes did some good saves, on the other hand Lloris didn’t have much work to do.

An important victory to Tottenham even more with City’s defeat and the next week direct confrontations City vs Spurs/Arsenal vs Leicester coming.

Never really got going.

Spurs were on the front foot from the off and but for Gomes could have had a few TBH.

We probably won't play a better side all season I feel but we didn't help ourselves at times.

Having Deeney starting might have caused them more problems potentially but we were caught out by their movement and quick play.
