Carlisle have done ok at our place in the recent past from what I remember. We're due a result against them at home, so 2-1 Rovers with Hume to score the winner after coming on (well, I can dream...).

Can't see us winning this... it's away and you're on form now and putting relegation behind you... and since it's impossible for us to draw, we'll lose.

We have been in good form and made some good signings. Much different look to the side compared to the JPT game at our place or the league game at BP, but you have won a couple recently too. Whilst we are on the up, it is far too early to be getting over confident and until that gap is a good few points more we are still definitely in the fight. As for Saturday, the chance to go 3 points ahead of you with a game in hand is very good motivation, but it will be a close game I feel.
I have a sneaking suspicion this will be a draw. 1-1. If Amoo scores, I'll get depressed.

I would imagine that if Danny Holmes is fit we'll start with the same line-up as at Exeter. Hume on the bench. Perhaps Laird instead of Max Power, who seems to have gone off the boil a bit, Marc will also give us a bit more of a physical presence in midfield.

Decided to give this a miss, as haven't seen us beat Carlisle at home in a long while. My last four games a 0-0 at the end of December, a 1-2 where the visitors won with a debatable penalty, a 0-1 where Akpa Akpro was sent off for retaliation and a 0-0 last spring, so hoping my absence might bring us a slice of luck.

How many heading down from Cumbria? The Palioi are hoping from a crowd of 6k, with the time of year and the scouse derby to follow, I feel we may fall a little short.

I tend to go along with 1884s prediction. It's amazing that a player so incredibly clueless as Amoo was during his stint on the Wirral manages to find the net against us.

Going to this. With tranmere's recent form, a point would be a great result. However we are due a defeat there.

If we want to be moving up the table then its a game we have to win. I went to the reverse fixture and watched possible one of the most inept Tranmere performances i've ever seen. Im pretty certain it wont be as bad as that and this time we should have enough about us now to get the three points. Hopefully there will be a decent number of Carlisle fans to help raise the attendance above 6k

ill go for 2-0 Tranmere Donnelly and Odejayi with the goals, crowd of 6100, 600 Carlisle.

You always seem to let David Amoo have free headers. When looking at all of Amoo's flaws, aerial ability isn't one of them. He's good in the air. I'd expect you'll have learned your lessons now.

I think both managers would be happy with a point, so I'll go 1-1 with 5750 in attendance.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Very tough game, this Tranmere is a much different prospect to the one in December, new players, higher morale, light at the end of the tunnel type feel about them.....makes it tougher than the doom and gloom style.

A positive for us I suppose is the pressure heaps on them this game.....they are playing a sh*te side at home....you HAVE to win them games will be the views of their fans I'd expect heading into this, which means if we can either take lead or drag this to 0-0 for long enough they will get frustrated, annoyed, agitated and put pressure on their team.

We do really need something, but pressure is abit less, a good thing for us is its away, again the fact we are also a different prospect to the one afew months back who gave you a home win without bothering to turn up, now when we come to grounds we're tough to beat......that at least gives us a chance.

I think the longer its level the better chance we have as they will get abit desperate and take some gambles which we may then capitalize on

Very tough game, and I'd happily take a point. Tranmere on decent form recently, and we've been consistently inconsistent all season (and last).

Think we've sold 200-odd tickets so far.

Would be great to get a point away to one of the teams around us, and looking at the next few games, we need to pick up some points from somewhere. Can't see it though, think we'll get beat.

200 would be disappointing, Pools brought double that. Maybe some will pay on the day.

I don't think the pressure on Rovers will be overwhelming, a lot of home fans will be expecting a win, but after last weekend, nobody will be slitting their wrists if we lose. I reckon it's more important for Carlisle to get something, given the difficult games that follow this.

We should definitely be looking to win this, but not expecting an easy game and a point wouldn't be the end of the world for either of us. I don't want Carlisle to go down, as this league may well look even more like division 3 south next year, and we need all the northern teams we can muster.

I feel we'll go at this one as a 4-5-1, as we have been doing away from home, trying to make ourselves difficult to beat. We'll probably also be a lot more battle-hardened than we were at Brunton Park.

Bench: Hanford, Buddle, Sweeney, Beck, Kearns, Rigg/Wyke, Asamoah

We've got a bit of a choice when it comes to strikers. Curle has even made a point of mentioning Paynter's name when referring to the choice and apparently Paynter is now 'using the football' in training. If we can get him kicking it as well we might have a striker on our hands ;) Hard to decide between Rigg and Wyke to start this, Rigg has been Johnny on the spot this season but Wyke had a good game out last time. Asamoah can always be a game-changer and Beck might still be on the bench seeing as we have less in the way of options in other parts of the field.

Kearns might continue on the bench, and while I've put Amoo in the starting line-up he may also be considered as one to bring on off the bench... basically we're going to start with a formation of 0-0-0 and then make all impact subs.

Buddle might get his chance over Troy. It's a difficult one as our next game is a Tuesday night which you'd generally expect Troy to sit out. Buddle has been brought in to give us options and is apparently impressing in training. He may need to play there on Tuesday assuming Troy is out, CMW continues as a midfielder and Thir is only used when all other options have been exhausted... but then again it may be that we rest Troy at the weekend and save him for Tuesday.

How's the temperature there? I notice one or two north west teams are postponing because of the freeze.

Fuck. I was looking forward to it as well, won't be able to make the rearranged game.
It says precautionary on the website. Covers are on but temperature isn't expected to drop below freezing so I'd say it's likely to be on.

hope so.

Every away game I've ever done has been called off when there's been a pitch inspection.

Pretty sure this'll still be on, temperature not forecast to drop below 2 degrees tonight so can't see the pitch freezing.

I'm actually feeling quite confident about this one, although felt the same before the Hartlepool game and that didn't turn out particularly well.

I'll predict 2-1, Donnelly with the first and a slightly optimistic scenario of Hume coming off the bench and bagging the winner in the 93rd minute.

Looking at the temperatures on the forecast for today, tonight and tomorrow morning, I'd be absolutely amazed if it's off.

I'd be shocked if this is off. As has been said, the covers are more than adequate unless we get a ridiculous amount of rain or snow. They are good to around -8 I believe and it isn't too cold in these parts today. With the forecast tomorrow, I'd say check at 9.30am after you have put your shoes and coat on!!

A few of your fans on twitter are saying it's merseyside police as they can't be arsed with this when they've got the derby to deal with.

If they are going to call it off, I hope they do it at 9 and don't prolong it by saying they want to have a further inspection at 1pm to let it thaw out

Spoke to a bird I know in Liverpool, she says it's absolutely baltic there, the grass is frozen etc.

If the covers have been on all week and the pitch was hard today, I can't see why anything will have changed by tomorrow.

We should win this with the form we're in but as I've said all season anyone can beat anyone
Tranmere to win and both teams to score looks a good bet 16/5

Tough to call, but I'll stick with my prediction on thecowsheds... 3-1 Tranmere. Think I overstated the crowd a bit previously though - I reckon 5,500 or so, with 600 from Carlisle.

Yeah, I think it'll be 3-1 Tranmere too, although if we can keep it tight for 60 mins, we have some decent players who can make an impact on the bench.

In all honesty I can see either team winning! It all depends how well the new squad gels, and how fired up we are. Could be a cracker.
