Bold move from Bournemouth in spending 15 million on Ibe. - a good prospect but still pretty steep.

But then he is young and English so valued high.
To be honest, being young and English means two decent (not even great!) seasons and we can sell him for double that.

You never get value buying English in truth, but happy to sell him on in a couple of seasons time.

I'd like to think that paying over the odds now will mean there is no sell on clause for Liverpool going forward, but who knows if our negotiations could be that intelligent.

Decent price for us although I wouldn't have minded Ibe being loaned out and us seeing again next season. He's got all the raw tools but really needs a lot of work on the mental side of game, particularly his decision making which can be awful.

Howe I think could well be a decent manager for him. He's got plenty of potential, could be a good/very good Premier League player still.

I'm fairly sure that didn't happen.

It definitely didn't...

Liverpool have been putting buy back and sell on clauses quite a bit recently so it wouldn't surprise me on this one as well.

Liverpool are trimming a lot of their fat. There's no Europe next year, but don't they need a few more players to make up the numbers for next season?

Selling Ibe, Benteke, Skrtel, Canos , allen , Luis alberto could earn us about 70 million! Personally think Coutinho will leave this summer too. FSG really need invest more than just on Mane.

Skrtel/Toure/Sakho(??) - Matip/Gomez (was out all season)/maybe one more CB
Enrique - Chillwell (not done yet)
Bogdan/Ward (out on loan) - Karius
Allen - Grujic/Zilenski (not done yet)
Benteke - Ings back from injury
Canos - was out on loan last season

With Balotelli, Markovic, Luis Alberto all coming back from loan we have more than enough. Reckon apart from markovic, both Balotelli and luis alberto will be sold too.

We should be looking for quality instead of quantity. Rodgers bloated the squad with too many shits.

£15m for Ibe is nothing - considering every Liverpool fan on the forum told us all that he was "much, much better" than Raheem Sterling three seconds after Sterling's move to Manchester City was confirmed.
Hrm ...

33. Jordon Ibe
- Winger. Some idiots claim his ceiling is higher than Sterling. I'm yet to be genuinely impressed. Strong and quick, that's about it.

I distinctly recall you saying the exact opposite, that quote has been fabricated.

All this denial is becoming a little silly now.

Who will be to Ibe what Ibe was to Sterling if this deal is completed, by the way? Ojo?

Doesn't seem to be being done at all. Since your interest Arsenal got involved and for a while it's all gone quiet and he's been training with the squad and giving interviews as if he is staying. Maybe you're dragging your feet?

Howe's getting busy. Lewis Cook from Leeds could be joining Ibe in a double swoop, a 6m deal has been agreed with Leeds and a medical is due tomorrow. Cook is much, much more like it. Our midfield would look far better with his steel. I'd be over the moon if we pull this off.

We wanted Cook last summer and were quoted 10m +, now due to his contract we may get him for 6 instead.

The fees being banded about for these average players is hurting my head.

I'd like to have seen him join a club that needs to play him. Can't see him being more than a sub for Kane. Although the domestic cup comps might be his territory until he's shown what he can do.

Nobody seems sure if Ibe will go through today, seemingly not even the player himself which just adds confusion to the matter. We have time so we can wait and see.

Lewis Cook will hopefully be wrapped up imminently; Eddie's number 1 target for the best part of a year so glad we're finally getting him for a decent price.

Now that's ridiculous money given his age.

£51m for Bonucci would go above and beyond the "new normal" in terms of transfer fee inflation.

Subotic for 8m to Middlesbrough? That's a very good buy if they get it through.

Pelle off to China for £13m.

Shame and it doesn't look like we will be replacing him.

Can we make some fucking signings now?

Liverpool linked with a Brazilian called Talisca, with a name that sounds like a brand of whisky (Talisker), I say sign him up!

I think Bilo was one of the Liverpool fans hyping Ibe the least, to his credit.

Would be a good signing. I've watched him a lot; he reminds me of Ryan Shawcross, and is a great fit for a side defending deep, or under siege. He's calm, strong in the air, aggressive, and a good passer, which will be important for a side losing the territorial battle.

I hate the summer!

But surely we have to replace Pelle? Europa League will kill Austin off, Rodriguez has looked awful in his few cameos ( :( ) and Long is very good at what he does, but can't put in the work that he does Thursday-Sunday most weeks.

I saw earlier that we had a bid rejected for Bas Dost. I don't know who he is, but a quick scan of Wiki says he's a tall striker.

It sounds like to me that Les Reed and the rest of the crew need to get their heads around that fact that players valued at £10m last summer are now £15m etc due to the new TV deal.

But of course, we must sell before we buy!

It's a bit early for Pelle to be chasing the Chinese money isn't it?
