Vardy could of course still say no at this point, I reckon the massive wage increase will swing him towards joining Arsenal.

Apparently Liverpool have agreed fee with Cologne for transfer of Jonas Hector. About 8 million.

@f1rmino led to believe Hector stuff is wide of the mark. Not an #lfc target at this stage

I could see Vardy to Arsenal working out. He's pacey and a good finisher, surely that would suit any side? Of course he'll probably get injured on his debut and miss the rest of the season, but who knows.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

Arsenal fans on Twitter are getting giddy because of the last time they signed a player who was in non league until his 20's...

Not only have I never seen him play, I've never heard of him. What's he like?

No idea I've never seen him play either. Apparently City, Chelsea and Leicester have both inquired about him too in the last 6 months. Villareal apparently now confirmed they've accepted an offer on Spanish radio which will be £32m including the addons.

Could all be Bollocks yet. Believe it when he's holding the shirt (next to Ibra, Messi and Ronaldo)

He was good against us in Europa League first leg. He was injured for second leg. But 30 million seems OTT considering we got Matip for free who is better ( according to stats).

19 million + add ons apparently.

Don't know anything about him but the Martial signing makes me trust our scouting. Reminds me a bit of the Martial signing (if this actually happens), in that no one knows much about him, linked with a few big clubs but we're the ones willing to spend big to get him.

From what I've seen this season, Bailly is a cracking signing for United. Quick, powerful and physically well suited to the premierleague. A bit raw and rash at times, but an immediate upgrade on blind and should compliment Smalling well. Also far, far better than John stones.

From the outside that's a pretty cheap price top. In the world of current transfer fees and tv deals, £20m is peanuts

Giroud saying in an interview that Vardy wants to join them. I bet he's happy about that.

Similar tactics to the Barcelona that the Arsenal fans broke down about when a couple of players made innocuous comments about their players.

You mean the 2 year long 'Barca DNA' and forcing shirts on players campaign to force Arsenal's hand into selling cheaper, as opposed to Giroud making a comment about a player who has pretty much signed already, and has a release clause? Not nearly the same, let's be honest.

Not sure what to make of this potential Vardy transfer. I think it's fair to have some reservations on whether or not he's a one season wonder.

I don't understand all the comments about him not suiting our style. Because our 'style' last year was fucking dogshit at times. We were slow, narrow and predictable. Vardy at the very least will offer some pace and movement, something we sorely lack when we have Giroud and worlds must narrow midfield playing.

EDIT: I like Giroud, but would have been happy to hear he was being sold if only because I don't think HE suits our midfield. Certainly not the midfield Wenger favours.

Vardy could of course still say no at this point, I reckon the massive wage increase will swing him towards joining Arsenal.

I'm going to assume that the transfer has gotten this far, partly because Vardy or his agent have let us know he's interested in the move.

We're signing another Leicester player apparently. Won't be Kante as we're stacked in midfield, hoping it's Mahrez but I'd prefer Mkhitaryan, it'll probably be Chilwell as a replacement for Gibbs who looks like he'll be leaving the club this summer.

I think I've come to terms with the signing of Vardy. My two biggest gripes about the whole thing is the money we're spending on him (29 years old) and it looks like we're going to go through another transfer market without signing a world class striker, something I was positive would finally happen this summer, but after the season he's had and the fact he's English, you could argue £20m isn't enough and we're getting somebody who has experience in the league so he shouldn't have any issues adjusting.

I'll get behind him regardless. He's got pace, he's a fighter and a decent finisher. If he's as hungry and clinical as he was last season he'll score 25-30 goals in this team providing he can remain fit.

Vardy won't get 'found out' at Arsenal, what is there to find out? He's fast as fuck, exploits space and is a good finisher. If Arsenal play in a manner that uses those traits then he'll do very well. If they dwell on the ball too long as they tend to, then they won't. It's like the England situation. Is he being found out when he's not scoring goals being played out wide? Or showing his class when he gets 3 in 3 when played through the middle?
Last season was his best goalscoring season but it's also really his first with us where he was the main man up front. In his first season he was poor and needed to adjust, in his second he was excellent but he was playing off of Nugent who was the primary frontman. In our first Prem season Nugent, later replaced by Ulloa were our main men up front and Vardy played more the wide role he's doing now for England. He still played well, still caused probelms for the opposition but the goals dry up. If Arsenal want him to adapt to play in wider positions or whatever then they're wasting their money. You might as well get a winger in. But if Wenger wants to play quicker, more direct attacking football then essentially Vardy will be doing nothing different except he'll have a few better players in key positions for him. If Sanchez plays off him instead of Okazaki for example. And obviously Ozil in for anyone. Though to get the best out of Vardy dropping a bit deeper could help.
Vardy will also do Arsenal the world of good defensively. He'll keep defenders from pushing up too far for fear of leaving him space or being isolated with him against them. If they do decide to move forward then allt he better for him if Arsenal can move the ball quick enough to find him, which they can, just if they will.

If you are getting one then it better be fucking Chilwell! Didn't really want him off but he was flirting with Liverpool before so he's probably looking to get away. He's behind Fuchs and, bizarrely Schlupp for the LB role and with Amartey in he won't cover the right either.

That would be the forcing of shirts on by someone who wasn't a Barca player btw.

Stockport County.
If Arsenal do get another Leicester player, I wonder if they'll be hammered as much as Chelsea, United, City or Liverpool would be for "ruining Leicester" and basically being opportunistic vultures throwing money around? There's absolutley nothing wrong with it but Arsenal and their goody two shoes, choir boys reputation seems different to the other big clubs for some reason.
