Phenomenal signing, would walk into any team at this level, and probably a couple of PL teams as well.
Would he though? The Pablo Hernandez of three years ago may do but his career is on a downward trajectory and at 31 he's not going to be the pacy winger we remember.

That said Garry Monk will know him well and may get the best out of him. Leeds looking well for the season.

Resident yokel idiot banned me from this thread for no reason, will be taking it up with Saddlerrad even further.

Kelvin Wilson will sign today, knew before Alan Nixon spouted it but obviously couldn't post, so don't know why the yokel was trying to say Nixon had the scoop knowing full well I couldn't post it.

Jon Taylor is signing from Peterbrough in the next couple of days too, always rated him when I've seen him play, an exciting little winger.

Ryan McCloughlin is on trial from Liverpool and we're in discussions with IFK Norrkoping for their striker Christoffer Nymann who has a very decent record for a young striker especially so far this season.

Other players in discussion but nowhere near as close as these.

Taylor and Nyman look to be solid acquisitions and will be a financial level suitable to Tony Stewart, not sure Wilson is a good move mind.

How good is Grant Ward, SERNWA?

Everything you want in a winger, quick and will run at people, can pick a pass, decent crosser of a ball and scores the odd screamer. He's as good defensively as he is going forward aswell, works hard. Probably our standout and most consistent performer last season.

You'll sell him for 10x what you paid for him eventually.

In true Rotherham and Tony Stewart tinpot fashion we tried loaning him again. Surprised they've sold him though to be honest, he signed a 5 year deal in January.

Nyman looks exciting which is novel for one of our signings. Be a novelty Tony Stewart wanting to pay for anybody. , mind you it ant happened yet.

Wilson is a panic buy after missing out on Moore, again by wanting to loan him. Still better than Richard Wood mind.

Monk played him as a 10 at Swansea by all accounts so would expect the same here. He can't be any less creative than players we've put there in the last couple of seasons anyway.

Don't know how nippy he is now but if he's got an eye for a pass then that'll do me. Had the best assists to minutes ratio in the prem only two or three seasons back so as long as he hasn't completely lost the plot and doesn't get injured, his quality should help, even though he won't be at his peak obviously.

I don't know him personally but the fan who runs the Vital Wigan website seems pretty well connected within the club. The fact that he broke the story means it probably it has legs to it. That doesn't mean the deal will actually happen, the article states that we're just in negotiations so a long way to go me thinks. Regardless of his goal tally last season 2m for a 27 year old is a lot of money and considering Bradshaw went for only 500k earlier in the window it just adds to my feeling that we're panicking due to our desperation to sign a striker and the season starting in 4 days.

Bradshaw only went for £500k coz his contract ends in January. He is the exception that proves the rule. Two million pounds just isn't a lot of money for this division anymore, though I completely understand your apprehension.

Derby... why on earth haven't you made a single signing? I was about to put you 2nd in my predicted table until I saw that. Pearson's had pretty much all summer hasn't he?

That squad should be good enough as it is so it shouldn't be hugely surprising if he's been told to just get on with it. Although maybe this season will be harder than average at the top?

His contract would end in the summer, all FL contracts, unless short term end on June 30th of each year.

Taylor handed in a transfer request at Leeds, and Alex Pritchard going to Brighton permanently.

Us and Florist favourites to sign Fraizer Campbell. Always said we should sign him, and it'd cause yet another Cardiff meltdown.

Alex Pritchard is a great player, always looked out for him since the day he utterly took us apart at Brentford.

However given Brighton's side, with the likes of Kayal, Stephens, Knockhart, is spending 8m on Pritchard really what they need?

Also for all the many qualities Pritchard has, he's fairly quick but not exactly lightening, beating players for speed isn't his game. Glenn Murray couldn't outrun a snail these days, and there's Hemed who isn't quick either. Can they all work together?

Will be interesting to see, in what looks to be a crazy top end of the Championship this year.

Depends if they're going to change their system; if they're sticking with a 4-4-2 I can't really see where he fits in, though he'd be perfect in the number 10 role in a 4231/433.

4th signing in 4 days at Wolves

Jon-Dadi-Bodvarsson has signed from Kaiserslauten for around 2.5m. Some might remember him for being apart of the team who beat England 2-1 in the Euros, he has scored against Austria. A 6ft 3 striker with 9 goals in 14 games in Germany (they only bought him in January) looks very promising indeed. Our team is finally starting to take shape.

Wasn't it 9 in his final 14 games in Norway?

Looks like he's barely scored in the last year. If you wanted that, then Simon Church is available from MK Dons for nothing.

Said this before when he was linked with Derby but McManaman will be a brilliant signing for anyone high up in the Championship providing he's willing to drop a division.

Was it? if so I should stop reading the E&S. Still happy with this signing, we have needed a target man ever since we lost Kevin Doyle without replacing him.

I've stuck a bet on Newcastle to win the league and McCormack to be goalscorer so Villa or Norwich... either way.

Kelvin Wilson confirmed.

Scott Allan, Jon Taylor and hopefully Christoffer Nymann joining the Miller shortly too.

Things are looking up, building a midfield that can compete with most in this division.

McCormack going to Villa will presumably end their interest in Kodjia. Suits all parties.
