No striker in our starting xi, with 4 of our January signings who all cost a fee on the bench despite us being down to the bare bones. Says a lot for the mess we've made of our squad.
I don't understand what is happening at FGR with regards to your January transfer signings. By all accounts you signed some very good players and for quite a bit of money as well. Did they all suddenly become bad on arrival ? What is going on ?

Only six subs today, one of them is an Academy player Zach McKenzie...haven't a clue how good he is...the other five are four strikers and a keeper.

What a fuck up by Burton there. Guess it’s not just our keepers who are inept.

‘Very good players’ is subjective. Think the fact we’ve sacked our head of recruitment says a lot.

Typical. On top, miss a penalty then Aimson slips on the atrocious pitch and lets them in

Fun 25 minutes. Probably the most open game at VP this year. Would love to say it was through some amazing attacking play but more likely both teams just don’t know how to defend.

Neither can defend, how the hell Taylor missed that one on one so badly il never know! Should be ahead but these are lively and we need to keep switched on.

Big blow down to a reserve centre half to make his debut

Typical from us, sit back and try and defend with the opposition having 80% possession, concede a soft goal from a set piece and then continue sitting back trying to avoid a thumping.

An utterly bizarre 45 minutes. Had some good football at times, some very bad football, missed sitters, farmers league defending, inept keeping and a pitch that is cutting up by the second following a monsoon.

Deservedly losing at the break but we’ve had more chances that I imagine we’d have had in that first half.

Walton with a great save to deny a Leahy header and he’s also denied Shipley. Pyke was about to have a tap in after great work from Street and Shipley down the left but their lad stuck it behind for a corner before Pyke had the chance.

Whilst it remains 1-0, this is far from over!

Messy is how I would describe that. Pitch suits Burton as they like to go long but we seem to be getting dragged into that at times, all be it that was the source of our goal.

Down to the real bare bones now Agyakwa is on, who couldn’t get into Chorley’s team when on loan and he looks like Bambi on ice at the moment! So a bit worried defensively now.

Chances to be had with this Burton defence though so got to be clinical when they come.

Could go either way this one. We do seem to be overplaying in the final third mind!

You can see why Burton can either score a few or concede a few. They're very open. We haven't really got going, there's been a lot of disruption and very little flow.

We’ve shaded the first half against a seriously physical team of giants.

Got to take some of those chances though. Could easily go either way and neither side can afford to switch off.

A few players on bookings who’ll need to watch themselves in the second half in what’s been a feisty encounter.

2-0 Plymouth.

Asking a lot to come back with us playing 2 false 9’s and rarely venturing into their half.

2-1 Burton from the spot, would say there wasn’t a huge amount of contact from Donnelly on their player but there was enough and he can’t just put his arm out like that. Bit of inexperience there.

It's fair to say we've been shit today. Burton actually been better than teams much higher up the league.

Dire second half. Worrying as well as these are one of the weaker sides so can’t use the excuse of recent defeats.

Would it be slightly cynical of me to point out that he left the club the day before the meet the Chairman/Manager event...thus providing an easy scapegoat for our dreadful performances on the pitch this season...taking the attention away from anyone else!

Just need the season to end now. We're in a real rut and don’t want to take the current doom and gloom around the place into a new season.

Yeah poor today and after a good few performances we put that in. Anyone who thinks we are safe need to look at that today. Far more work to be done and play like that we won’t be getting another point.

Shit. Well played Barnsley, classic battling away performance, keeping it tight and scoring against the run of play.

As the cliche goes, teams who can consistently grind out the results, even while not playing well, are the ones who get the rewards. Oh well, we didn't take our chances and paid the price.

Well we have played better and lost - so will take that. We are still shocking at the back. Sort that out and next season we could be mid table.
Can’t see us going down now.

Fair play to Burton, better team on the day won that.

For us I think today is the kind of performance from a few of our players that suggests they won’t be long for this club come the summer time and they know it. Pett was excellent for us but other than it was slim pickings. Burton made a good signing in that lad Taylor up front.

Turned off the stream once Ipswich scored the second. Nothing to play for now until August, how boring. Just want the season to end now.

One of the finest results in Fleetwood's long history. Mighty Derby County 0 Little old Fleetwood 2
Quite outstanding and an indication of the superb work being done at the club by Scott Brown and his backroom team, and of course the players. Chance to finish in the top half ( just ) which would be fantastic progress from last season
