It's probably the dullest 5 goal game I've ever been to. There should never have been 5 goals in it. Some of the defending from both sides was like kids stuff. Looking back at the highlights, why did we not test their keeper more? He didn't have to do much but most of what he did was a balls up that I wouldn't expect to see on a park pitch. We constantly refrain from shooting outside the box in spite of the fact that we've seen numerous goals fly in our net from outside the box.

What?
First of all, the pitch was atrocious. It was embarrassing. You really need to have a word with your ground staff, it was like a conference pitch.
Secondly, fantastic? When we equalised, we were easily the best side. We should have gone on to win it, but that utter bellend with the smoke bomb, coupled with making two subs, completely changed the momentum. We can't complain after such poor defending, but at 1-1 the game was there for the taking and we didn't do it. I think to some extent the eye has gone off the ball now we are safe, having only one proper centre half, and no Brown (who is also our penalty taker) doesn't help.
Hopefully we will take points off you next season, when it really matters.
Do you have a list of pre prepared responses for when you lose? Just lift and shift when required?

You got beat, deal with it like an adult.

I thought Peterborough were a very good side and deserved their win. They started the game on the front foot, used the two wings well as they tried to create chances. However chances were very much limited until their first on 30 mins, and they then missed a glorious chance straight after for 2 nil. We were passive and horrible, and then forced into a change when Erhahon went off injuried. We put an extra body up front and went to a back 4.

As we were chasing the game, we left big gaps as we huffed and puffed. Peterborough doing well to slow the game down at 1-0. Ward connected well with a corner which smacked the post for them too.

Peterborough then scored their 2nd and 3rd and ran down the clock with ease. Really impressed with Mason-Clark and Ward (who used to play for us). The most frustrating thing about the game is we knew they are good offensively, but concede a lot too. I think we had 3 efforts off target, with only Virtue long range effort when at 0-0 any good.

Our first defeat was always going to come before too long, but there is a big gulf between the two sides on that showing.
Never seen so many people walk out at 2 0 on 68 minutes before
We were appalling from start to finish, people around me who normally join with the 617 (we're at the back of block 5/6) were sat down after 10 minutes.
I know we're limited by budget etc but the lack flair, passion etc is very worrying.
Wonder if we'll keep the crowds at 8500 playing like this next season?

If you read my original post I stated a large percentage of our fanbase do not like it. We have lost up to a 1000 on a match day as his tactics polarise the fanbase. Especially as clough/Rowett and even JfH played cleaner and faker. I certainly do not like it, although I like the results. In honesty I hope he goes at the end of the season. You have kept us up, great - now move on. Although he will probably stay.

But here is the thing. We did the same Tuesday against Peterborough and they tore us a new arsehole. So we can be beaten and easily. We have let in 70 goals. You scored after 2 minutes - so can only blame yourselves.
And at times yesterday it was like the parting of the Red Sea in your defence. I was surprised how much you backed off.
Why was it a surprise? After 25 minutes we had 2 centre halves who had played a grand total of 12 games and a debutant respectively, aside from Smith it was pretty much a couple of kids at the back.

Big Derek did provide some entertainment at least firs thing he did was head a ball and it went backwards!, although ironically none of the goals were his fault.

I think he should have done better with the 3rd. Let his man get in front of him way too easily. Smithy wasn't pleased, not that he had a great game himself. Those 3 at the back is a frightening proposition. Smith who hasn't got great pace and two kids either side of him. Come up against a Burton who play balls over the shoulder and we're in trouble, the space to play through the channel is huge.

Not to mention losing Forrester who’s been outstanding in recent weeks.

Sounds like the same thing we struggle with. Never seen a season where opposition goalies have had so many assists against us.
