Big Dunc will sort him out then ;)

Next week will probably the game your luck changes with refs. We certainly won’t get any decisions, it’s seemingly against League 1 rules to even let us get a respectable points tally.

Alfie May has been some player for you, what it last season he scored 4 in one game. Where did you get him from ?
Yep, Wycombe away last year he scored 4 in a 5-5 draw! Signed him from Doncaster in January 2020, took him a year or so to really get going but dread to think where we'd be without him now

A bit like us and Connor Wickham...if you took his goals away from this season we would look really awful...oh, hang on a minute!

I thought MK were terrible midweek, Oxford much better today. Would have taken 4 points from the two games.

First half Oxford started stronger than used to here, but gave away a pen. We then had something to hold onto. Attack vs defence 2nd half but we defended solidly. Oxfords right winger was a menace all 2nd half. Lost count the amount of corners they had.

Oxford should be ok this season, much much better than MK. No idea how that Oxford effort 2nd half wasnt offside, but it was a ridiculous save from Rushworth.

Pretty much safe this season now. Lots of players out of contract end of season, so will be interesting few months through to the end of season.

I'm surprised you managed to keep hold of him in the summer/Jan. Aaron Collins has a good year and we are already resigned to losing him this summer

Out of all the sides towards the bottom that have come to PR Burton were probably the pick of the bunch. Can see how they have picked up results recently, very physical. A decent striker away from being solid midtable. As for us the real tests are Bolton, Barnsley and Derby away in the next month. Real benchmarks. Credit to Plymouth and Wednesday, such a high standard this year

We weren’t great but we created so many chances against Pompey, so frustrating seeing us blow every chance. We shouldn’t have lost today but obvious today why we’re second bottom.

Relegation accepted now which makes it easier to deal with. It’s the hope that hurts so easier to have none.

Yes MK Dons, you’re having that.
When your own fans are singing about how shit you are after 15 mins you know it’s going to be an easy afternoon.
And still we made it a bit difficult.
Because we are also a bit crap.
The huge punt upfield that ‘stoney’ saved, is probably the only save he’s made since the magical play off night v Swindon.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy be mid-table lg1 , plenty seem not, I am, all I know are, happy with our lot.
But jeez, they’re at some right old shite at this level, and there’s 4 or 5 in our team.

28 points from the last 30 available, the 2 'dropped' were at your place.

Think 7 more wins should do it, we have 8 away and 5 home left.

In my head you’re up already. Didn’t think you were brilliant at our place despite going 2 up but the consistency is why you’ll be champions. Didn’t think Moore would last the season at one stage, credit where it’s due though

Didn't watch the game but judging by the stats/general twitter commentary it sounds like we just about deserved it. Belter of a goal from May
I was disappointed in Fleetwood to be honest, we were much the better team today and I haven't said that about Cheltenham team for a very long time.

May's goal was wonderful as well.

His age counts against him. He signed a 2 and half year extension last January and he was 29 in the summer. We weren't prepared to let him go for less than £500k, and he was coming off his first really prolific season.

I suspect he'll move on this summer, but it won't be for much - around £100k-£150k

Moore and the chairman have a brilliant working relationship which means despite fans grumbles he's never lacked that backing from the owner.

We as fans forget what a rebuild Moore had on, we've spent around 150k on fees apparently in 2 seasons, we had an embargo in the summer we came down and had to stick to a wage agreement so he's put a squad together quite well when you look at it that way.

Looked offside to me as well from my angle but he was onside - a good reaction save from Rushworth anyway (I'm assuming you mean the header?). 6 clean sheets in 9 now and they're always a good starting block, even if the football from an attacking sense is pretty uninspiring at times.

That's us about there now and in L1 next season now.

Just seen the still of the incident from the free kick (we scored from I think) when Smith went down and the liner didn’t give it.

Think MK will be having another retrospective ban coming their way. Clear elbow to the face!

Smudge must really get under opponents skins! Problem is because he’s had 4 or 5 reactions resulting in reds or retrospective reds in the last couple of seasons he’s not getting them on the pitch now.

They had one this week with Leko who kicked out at one of our players on Tuesday.

Got to be frustrating that you've drawn that many games 5/6 wins from them and you'd be looking at a play off push.

He does but because he’s involved in so many of them now refs will know about this and if they didn’t before you can guarantee the opposition manager will be mentioning it to him. Extremely stupid of the MK lad if he did get a retrospective ban out of this but when you are in MK’s situation it’s the kind of thing that may well happen.

On a separate note at the start of the season I was unsure if Pett would handle the step up to L1 at this point in his career (not sure if he played much for Lincoln in this league) but lately he has probably been one of if not our best players. Really adds an element of control to midfield so I’d definitely give him a new deal in the summer.

Pett is the first name on the team sheet for me. I watch him quite a lot through the game. His positioning is excellent and he very rarely loses the ball. I can't understand why he hasn't played every game, because we look so much better with him in the team.

I have to give credit to him. He's done well....I still think he'll struggle in the league above because he doesn't appear to be the brightest. However, although he hasn't spent much in transfer fees, there's very few teams that do at this level. He's got at least a top 3 wage budget, so he's level par at the moment. He's doing what your team should be at this level.

Kinda. I don't actually think we're a PO quality squad, not even a top 10 one really but we've dropped lots of points from winning positions at home, and especially late ones against Accy, Fleetwood and MK. But that's stemmed from not having enough quality up front to kill a game off (or turn 0-0 games like Cambridge, Charlton and Portsmouth into wins) and playing without a decent midfield for over half the season and never really committed ourselves to a particular way of playing.

Scott Brown admitted he didn't help Fleetwood today by keeping with the same team from the Burnley match. There will be a lot of changes for the Wycombe game on Tuesday as he looks to freshen things up, having said that take nothing away from Cheltenham and Brown said they probably deserved to win

100% agreed. We are not a play off squad. We are a well organised squad, hard to breakdown and everyone knows their roles, but we do not have enough quality. Will be an interesting summer with many players out of contract and loan players going back.

I wouldn't mind taking him off your hands as a replacement for Collins, especially for that low a fee

I think today has gone under the radar abit with our fanbase. After getting pumped last week it was huge that we bounced back with our next 2 fixtures being Derby and Barnsley.

I said it before but if we are clear of third place by 3+ point come the end of March then we are in with one hell of a chance.

Teams likely to get promoted this season lose at Peterborough, seems the done thing :D

As it goes, I said on here back in September that MK at our place were the worst team I’ve seen at Portman Road in a few years. They were genuinely worse than the tier 7 team we played in the FA Cup in November.

Strangely they looked alright at ours the other week, granted it probably helped them starting well with a wonder strike by Leko.

Posh were arguably the best side I've seen at Hillsborough this season and nullified us in the first half albeit without creating a scoring chance.

The rumour is Gillingham - they were interested in January, are cash rich, and he's from that area.

That being said, he still lives up Doncaster way (he's married a girl from there) so he could go that way.

Ultimately, no-one at Cheltenham will begrudge him a move to make himself some money. He's our record Football League goalscorer and his attitude is second to none.
