Agree about Dolan.
It's players like Dolan who need to step up and take it by the scruff and lead, he's been well off it but he's from the town and should be busting to get in the team, I'd be doing all I can if it was me. If he can't get a look in in front of the three yoof 3 CBs (one of them a RB) then he's done at this level.

I don't mean better in terms of chances created necessarily, I just thought we were the better football team. That's just the sense I got. Carlisle's moments were done on momentum. Not saying a draw was a daylight robbery or anything. Two fair goals each so fair result and both sides had chances.

It was a good football match. I hope both make the play-offs but I'm actually earmarking Carlisle as someone who if we can just better their results in the final three, then that would do it and wouldn't have to worry about Salford or Mansfield. Carlisle playing Salford is a bonus as I said.

This is what I’ve been saying all along. We don’t have much quality at all and are quite poor on the ball. We give the ball away really cheaply and lack quality and creativity. Almost all teams in the top half look a better football team than us. There was a big discussion a week or so ago where I was trying to get this point across but it got misinterpreted as me being obsessed with possession stats.

In a way, the fact we’re so poor on the ball and lack so much quality makes the job Simpson has done all the more remarkable. I know he’s badly thought of at Stockport but I don’t think anyone else could have done a better job at Carlisle with what he has at his disposal

I've just realised how much bother Hartlepool are in.

At least you won't be needing to replace those missing seats any time soon. :bye:

Absolutely drained after that.

A result that doesn’t really do either side much good, but I’m so pleased we changed the formation second half and actually became a threat. Kick in the bollocks the way we conceded, but much better attitude all round despite the goalkeeping error. We looked more of a threat in 45 minutes than we have in about the last 6 games combined.

Salford and Mansfield both winning is a problem though and I think it’s likely we’ll miss out on top 7 now unless we learn how to win again. It puts pressure on us Saturday as we really need to be winning at Barrow then at least avoiding defeat against Salford.
4 points will do it for us, providing at least 1 of them comes against Salford - and that Salford don't win by huge margins in their games against Walsall and Gillingham. 3 points against Salford and the playoffs are ours IMO.

Still need to go in all guns blazing at Holker Street - shame the away end is season ticket holders only though, as I can't see them generating the kind of atmosphere that we could have had...

Ann odd evening, celebrating promotion despite losing 2-0 with a floodlight failure thrown in for good measure.

I'm more annoyed about the lights going out, meant alot of people had to cut celebrations short to make sure they got the train back.

First 15mins we completely bossed the game, would've made for a better test for both teams had it stayed 11v11.

Thought the sending off was 50/50 myself, some refs give a red, some take into consideration the distance from goal and the two covering defenders some don't. Looked at it back, I thought it was a yellow myself but have to acknowledge that from the refs position why he showed the red.

Ref had a poor game overall I thought, quick to branish yellows for little reason but no bottle to send another player off, but got the penalty decsion right. The best bit was when Tom James free kick hit the wall and was tipped over by Morris and he gave a goal kick. First half red card will always be 50/50 IMO.

Still thought we played well and stayed in the game well, but was always a risky last 15mins trying to get back into the game. Apart from the save Vigs made at the start of the second half I don't remember Gillingham creating much else.

Nothing reminds you just how shite League Two is than when you see that Champions elect Leyton Orient have run away with the division despite having Omar Beckles at centre half. Incredible achievement with that consideration.
But he's been excellent for us for 2 seasons, has the odd fuck up like most defenders down here but he's one of the main reasons why we've not let in many this season, him and Vigs are the key players we have at the back.

That game was of a standard somewhere around national league north and we managed to make Rochdale almost look like a good side at times. We need a clear out in the summer, and to appoint the right manager (which Palios does not have a great track record of), otherwise I'm genuinely concerned we're going to be fighting to stay up next year, as this squad is absolutely terrible. The own goal is well worth a watch on the highlights though, absolutely fantastic entertainment.

Home v Away, we are chalk and cheese.

Since the turn of the year, we have not played brilliantly at home but have restricted the opposition to very little and have nearly always found a way. 28 points out of the last 33 available is truly jaw dropping after starting that spell with 7 league goals overall.

Don't think the Bradford fans need be worried about Saturday. Having taken 3 of the 5 home points we have dropped, you will see how lacklustre we are on our travels. Plus we now have little to play for, although four or five may be seeking a new contract.

Win about right last night, we are never going to play great with what we have avaliable but did enough.

I’m already worried about Stevenage Saturday, just not sure we have enough with the injuries to beat the better sides in the division.

We managed to get our only LB on the pitch only for him to get instantly injured again as standard.

Swindon deserving of their win, lots of pressure second half, we created a lot ourselves but our finishing was just ridiculously poor as well as some really bad touches when in good positions (Chapman prime example of chasing his bad touch and ending his season by pulling his hamstring). I have to mention the pull back when Osadebe was through, the foul starts outside the box, he’s being pulled back/down for so long he ends up in the box, the fact Drysdale considered none of that an offence is just crazy - 1 win in 10 or something now when he’s officiated us and the big fear prematch of his influence on the game played out once again.

I don’t fancy us to beat Salford. I know we beat them comfortably earlier in the season, but they are a changed and better team now, they’ve added quality like Louie Barry. Given our recent performance levels I think they’ll control us easily this time.

For me we have to beat barrow on Saturday, like you I hope we just go for it, a draw is no good. I’ll be there in the away end. I don’t think we will win, but we have to. Then take a point off Salford to keep them behind us.

My word I've just seen the goals again. Absolutely SHOCKING goalkeeping from Holy on both goals. He has to be saving both of them.

Shocking goalkeeping from Stockport's keeper on our 1st as well.

If we can't beat Crawley on Saturday then we deserve to go down, no question, there's not a chance they come here and do anything but stick 10 men behind the ball, up to us to pick an attacking side and go at them from the off, playing a back five against these would be mental.
Doubt Creepy will sit back, They imo will go for it.
Their best defence is to attack from what i,ve seen.

They've 1 win away and scored 14 goals in 21 away games, they haven't 'went for it' away all season.

They absolutely 'went for it' at our place, caused plenty of problems and were one of the best sides to come here all season. It was only the gulf in quality finishing that saw County win.

An exception to the rule

Even we've looked alright sometimes this season! :2thumb:

Cook looked a right useless lump last night - thank God. Not only missed chances but actually missed the ball twice! We got better as the game went on but you should really have been out of sight in the first half. Hope you still make it.

He has games like that (rare this season thankfully), did the same at Carlisle where he missed a few sitters and again we lost 1-0. Made worse by the fact he scores about 95% of all our goals.

Another home win vs Orient

Red card changed the game in our favour as Orient were all over us to this point.

Home form has been staggering since January only dropped 4 points in that time, now just to sort our away form to push on next season

Thought he had a good game, tbh. Can’t think of any contentious decisions. 11 minutes of added time was way OTT, mind.
