Always a bit of bite in Tranmere v FGR fixtures and I expect this game to be no different with Forest Green probably believing they owe us one from the last time we met. Should be a good game.

Without looking at the stats I feel Crawley tend to struggle against Stevenage but I think we might win this...if we turn up.

Watters has gone but we've won the last three without him, he only tended to play for half a game anyway, and with Nichols and Nadesan up front we have pace and nous in abundance. We might get to see more of Ashdown or German in the coming months who, I feel, have plenty to offer.

Might get to see the new signings too.

3-1 to Crawley

Looking at the forecast our game away at Harrogate looks like it’s not going ahead again. Not played away from home in weeks now and the fixture pileup will really start to take its toll.

Rovers haven't had a great home record against Forest Green, think the only win was thanks to Ollie Banks shot that bounced off the bar and over the line in the play-off semi-final. There seems to have been a big turnaround from the visitors since our last encounters and although I recognise names, they're either as troublesome opponents with other clubs like Jamille Matt at Newport or those like Aaron Collins and Kane Wilson who spent time on loan at Rovers. However, with both Mark Cooper and Dale Vince still at the club, there will be some residual needle, especially given the glee that the FGR chairman appeared to react to our demotion.

Rovers have lost the spark in our play since the caretaker duo were replaced by Keith Hill as manager, so it's hard to feel too hopeful about this one.

From memory Dale was making general points about curtailing last season and mentioned Tranmere as an example of a club that would be demoted, although their more recent form would have taken them above the drop zone.
I seem to remember Tranmere and Dale were talking off the same hymn sheet. Neither wanted the season shortened.
Dale was not gloating at the situation.

It is correct your chair didn't want the season to end, but he approved of the way it was ended. Dale Vince posted this on twitter, when Rovers were replaying one of the L2 semi play-offs between us around the time the PPG was about to go through....

Happy anniversary guys, looks like we’ll meet again in the League next season..:)

Most teams at the time were replaying old matches on their channels Think it's understandable that it didn't go down well from a TRFC perspective and there were a few acrimonious exchanges between Mr Vince and the Rovers twitterati.

If it's any consolation, he's probably been deposed by Accrington chair Andy Holt as their most disliked opposing owner now.

On paper, these fixtures look more likely to go our way than yesterday's which very much did go our way.

Agreed, but only 'on paper'. What is not to be dismissed though is the poor state of football pitches up and down the land. I think the poor playing surfaces did play a big part in yesterday's results (7 draws inc. 3 goalless ones).

ps - wins for Harrogate, Tranmere, Walsall and Stevenage please. Ta.

Agreed, without our poor pitch yesterday I’m confident our team of legends would’ve battered Southend 4 or 5 nil but because of our crappy pitch we had to settle for a 0-0.
If we go go down I know what’s to blame now, the pitch. :bg:

Crawley v Stevenage game postponed due covid in Crawley squad. No indication of the numbers involved.

Efl informed, I presume Stevenage informed. Also, Fa informed as it will affect our game v Bournemouth on Saturday.

In line with procedure an efl investigation will take place.

Big test for us tonight.
If we do win, (not saying we will) I will very much laugh at the inevitable Cambridge tears that the last game was postponed when we were more shite.

Nailed on Southend win after they cried off the last game due to injuries.

Hopefully we're giving our pitch some TLC since we're haven't played on it since boxing day.

We dug up our old pitch, replaced the drainage and relaid it with the same system used at top clubs. Still looks crap though.

I know he's only 18 or 19 but that's a few schoolboy errors from Griffiths this season now, Flinders needs to come back in goal asap. Not good enough.

Just seen it. One of those where the wind got it and the bounce took it over the keeper.

Goalkeepers scoring goals aren’t that rare nowadays, James McKeown scored one in our game v Carlisle earlier in the season.

One of our best halves of the season. Only negative is it’s only 1-0 because we easily could have had more. Worries me as no doubt Forest Green will come into this.

1-0 HT, but had any of the multitude of close range headed chances gone anywhere but straight at the keeper we could be a lot more comfortable. We're well on top, but FGR still look threatening when they break - this game is far from over.

We're losing, what a fucking surprise.

No doubt we will not utilise the conditions second half.
