Big three points that. Think we can count ourselves fortunate that the goal was chalked off, but we'll take it. Great strikers goal from Sonny. Worrying that he went off, and Purrington doesn't look good. We are doing just enough against the poorer sides at the moment, but still some tough games looming and still need to get some players in.

Fortunately Sonny’s injury doesn’t look too bad. He was walking at the end and wasn’t even mentioned in his post match interview. Hopefully he’ll be fit for Saturday, but if not probably be back for the return leg against Rovers.

Purrington is a big worry though. He looked great last night but the injury didn’t look good. Hopefully the leg brace was just a precaution and that he’ll be back in a few weeks as to lose him long term now is a blow.

Just 10,000 Charlton fans last night. Presume this is a reaction to Appletonball which has now ended.

By the look of the goals, it isn't strikers that they need...

He seemed fine walking off the pitch but got totally wiped out by one of our players accidentally.

But fair enough, I guess it was a concussion risk.

We seem to give away late sickeners every other week, it’s ridiculous.
Apparently quite a delay getting a new 4th official too .

Apparently the goal was chalked off last night because the lad who was offside was interfering with play by stopping Hartridge from going towards the ball.

Its a hell of a spot by the linesman to be fair

Someone appeared from the crowd after an appeal.
Really don't know why the EFL don't pay for an official to sit in the stands for just this eventuality.

It's just a sign of the times now. The clubs is at its lowest ebb ever and the fanbase is dwindling. I wouldn't expect numbers to improve any time soon. To be honest our only real weak positions now seem to be RWB and maybe a GK. The issue is the team doesn't play cohesively at all. If the team clicked, the player quality should really be enough for top half if not top 6.

We've only scored one less than Portsmouth. We tried a completely new defence last night and the same issues persisted

Yes, we're in a similar boat.

We're not good enough for top 6, but I think that player for player, we should be good enough for 7th-12th.

I mean, we can still meet those heady targets, but we have blown a run of what were on paper gentler fixtures, and face a terrible run in Feb of:

  • a resurgent Cheltenham (twice)
  • Posh, Bolton, Oxford, Stevenage
We could easily be 22nd by the end of Feb.

So Cheltenham goal was rightly disallowed and you after all did not get cheated.....Not one of you came on and said it was a clear cut penalty.
Instead you all talked broken biscuits the ref did this the ref did that, we are all a set of cheating northern Bastards blah blah blah........Good luck for the rest of the season big improvement as the season has gone on
Still got the best two days of the year down your place on the 13th, 14, March
Wil be somewhere between the vine and the shamrock as per usual celebrating your wonderful Town

We really are in a similar boat. Blackpool this weekend and our Feb is terrible too
  • Derby twice
  • Bolton, Pompey
  • Lincoln, Reading
We could also well be in the bottom 4 by the end of the month, our record against the top half is non existent.

That Reading game will be huge but we are woeful away only winning once all season, if we lose that and the others go as expected we will be in big trouble

Rightly disallowed? What planet are you on? Watch it again and tell me where the offside/foul/whatever the referee has given happens.

The handball I did think was a pen at first but looking at it again I think it deflects off his body first..hard to tell though -

The freekick you got was never a freekick because it was your forwards throwing themselves at our defenders and falling to the floor. Was not a isolated case.......You are correct it was not for offside it was two of your forwards having one thing on their mind blocking Santos....Watch it again Great shithousery from Cheltenham but you got rumbled

Depending how much pedantry you want to get into that’s not totally correct as it’s in use in all the playoff finals.
Wigan v Wycombe wasn't a play off :)
But that's my whole point, they can afford an extra official, they would only need to get one locally and could probably get away with paying them 50 quid as a retainer.

Hahaha what are you on about 'blocking', the ref has panicked and come up with that as he knows he's fucked up. Why don't you watch it again and show me exactly who's fouled who. Moron

There’s been previous with DC and that ref you had last night. He was the ref involved in a similarly farcical decision to chalk a goal off for us at VP against Accrington last season when their defender handled the ball on the line and then one of our players followed up to put it in the net but he took it back for a penalty rather than just play advantage. Was pretty scathing about him after that game so fuck knows what he thinks of him now.

He mentioned that in his post match interview funnily enough. Was not a happy man

Yeah and he’s not normally someone who has a go at refs after games certainly in comparison to some managers we could all name. His standard response is usually “we’ll take it on the chin and focus on ourselves instead” or something like that so he’s gone some to annoy him to that extent.

Whatever the ref says he gave is nowhere to be seen on the footage. Nobody is fouled or blocked off. 99% of your fans agree. You got the decision and the 3 points, don't get why it's so hard for you to admit you had a massive stroke of luck along the way.

You obviously have read my posts wrong.......roles reversed i would have been pissed off
Did he see the Santos foul/block only he can answer that....I certainly did not first time. The block/foul is clear on the footage......If you are not sure who Santos is he is the 6" 6 Black lad in the centre who is left in no mans land as the ball hits the net. Expect controversy each week with how you play shithousery at its finest
