Savouring being top, we will probably mess this up somehow.

We kept the same CB’s from last season. And what a surprise. They’re just as shite at defending

Monty looked in a real bad way there. Fingers crossed he’s ok.

We've had to put a young attacking midfield player at left back due to injuries now we're hanging on abit. Should have been out of sight much earlier though.

Second half was a bit flat after the pen. Colchester happy to sit on their lead and we were just trying without really doing anything.

Finally a set piece works, Hanson heads down to Green on edge of box and a great strike for a goal.

Were reminding me of England from the World Cup. Can only score goals from set pieces and if they don't work we have no idea.

Hopefully this hasn't woke Colchester up for the final few minutes.

Well got a point, don't think we deserved it but Colchester didn't push on in the second half and were happy with the lead which came back to bite them.

pleased with our first win, and undefeated in the league. Bennett and Amoo looking like decent signings so far.

Huge win made a lot harder than it had to be with multiple guilt edged chances missed! Amoo and Wozza the main culprit in the second half.

Stayed solid against increased FGR pressure. Enjoyable game, two sides playing the right way and would be a good advert for league two.

Finally a win against FGR in the league!

Monty appeared to have a facial injury as they were holding his nose! Hope he’s fit Saturday.

Good Start. Play like that every game and add some clinical finishing and we might surprise ourselves.

That FGR kit is hideous!

Great to pull that back, belting goal from Green as well.

Comfortable enough win for us, Carlisle had plenty of possession second half but rarely threatened. Unbeaten home run goes on!

Well played Vale. Better side no doubt.

Was a very good game of football. Like last years game at VP just the result went the other way. A lot of boxes ticked for Vale tonight. We look a real threat from out wide now, Joyce is that steady influence in the middle and up front we have options at last. Also saw out the game when FGR put the pressure on.

Good luck for the rest of the season, am sure you’ll be up there.

Huge shithouse win for Keith Curle’s men at Swindon tonight, but there’s only one win I’m interested in.

Bradford v Stevenage match thread posts = 8
General Tuesday match thread posts = 175 (all figures correct at time of posting)

Firthy, you and yours took one hell of a beating.

Didn’t see that coming at half time, what a goal by Green that was, got no voice left after that, a point earned by pure battling and never giving up.

Tonight’s game was very frustrating. Salford are ok, but they were there for the taking. We just couldn’t find the net. Yet again dominated possession, put plenty of crosses in, it just didn’t drop for us in the box.

Deserved all 3 points given the chances we created.

Mansfield and Plymouth are the only bankers imo. Swindon look good to beat the Cobblers, and Exeter should beat Oldham, but I'm always a bit hesitant to back Swindon when they're at home, otoh I don't like to back Exeter when they're NOT at SJP.

Cambridge, Newport and Vale look good for a DC (aka not to lose) but obviously the odds on DCs will not be that great. For ex, a tenner on an acca of Stags and Plymouth to win, and the 3 DC sides above will only net you 70 quid.

Joyce was superb, clearly mis managed last season and Worrall just never ever stops, the guy has energy levels that are just unreal.

Bennett looks a real good signing too, a more mobile (these days) Tom Pope and he will have a pop from 25 or 30 yards when given the chance he will shoot which we’ve lacked as we’ve always tried to walk it in or go out wide.

If we can get them levels regularly and add Manny into the mix in the middle when fit we will be a million miles from the shit of the past couple of years. I’m excited by that and the performances against Salford and Northampton but need to keep it going. First 13 or 14 looks decent enough but still looking a bit threadbare if injury’s hit.

A classic fairytale of two halves. First we were diabolical and made Colchester look like world beaters. They had us beat all over the park and looked like scoring everytime they went forward. We couldn't handle Nouble at all.

Second we got a hold of the ball much, much more and tried to make it happen with some success. The ref, who I thought was garbage, thought long and hard about the penalty before giving it. I wasn't entirely convinced on first look but fair play to him for not making an instant decision, needs to happen more. We still weren't brilliant but we battled extremely hard and deserved the point in the end.

Tonight was more evidence that we need more creativity in the middle and we also lack width when route one doesn't work. A couple of out and out wingers would do us wonders having someone like Hanson and Green to provide for.

Hessenthaler was phenomenal, again.

Terrible missed offside for Northampton's goal. Officials at this level really are appalling. That ref tonight loved being a c*** all evening.

However we didn't do enough. Can't think of many saves their keeper had to make. Need to be better against teams that come here to frustrate.

Organised away performance from Northampton. Unspectacular but solid. The type of away win we all love to see from our own sides.

2 conceded and 2 scored in 4 games. Newport not conceded in 5 hours and are draw specialists. 0-0 was about the most predictable thing in history.

We missed the better of few chances, Dan Scarr has to put the header away from a corner, unmarked 6 yards out, centre of the goal, but he stuck it miles over the bar.

Newport worked hard and looked organised but had nothing upfront unless Matt used his physicality to create.

IF we find a way to score a couple of goals, we MIGHT be a force.

Sickening viewing that. Had a lot of the ball but did so little with it and ended up playing right into Morecambe's hands. They scored from their first real foray into our box and saw the game out masterfully. But it was our own inability to cross the ball or hold it up that's cost us the game. Lack of strength in depth was pretty evident tonight as well.
