Yeah, I always hate trying to get around mountainous terrain on an open world game. When the place marker you're heading for is RIGHT NEXT TO YOU but there's a fucking mountain in the way... so you go all around it trying to find a way up... but it's all blocked off. When you finally give in and look online, you see there's a cave entrance about half the world away that you had to go into and it'll take you to a tunnel that gets there. Either that or you just sit on your horse jumping up vertical cliff edges and eventually make it up there.
High Hrothgar?

TBH that was part of the fun for me in Skyrim, like getting a certain word wall by bypassing a whole dragon priest dungeon by rock climbing.
Got me one of the storm call dragon shouts

Fair enough,
I put hours in Oblivion but can't for the life of me think what i actually did, other than put it on easy and hammer the coliseum for money.
Also i never complete the main questline, because i always think 'i'll save it for once i've done everything else' which of course never happens

This is exactly what I did with Skyrim. I only got so far as when you have to go up the mountain to meet the grey beards or something. Yeah, that close to the start. Then I got lost in a dwarven ruin and left it for months and when I came back I couldn't find my way out... then I actually went back to it a couple weeks back and found my way out but did a bunch of mods which just crashed the game, and now I can't remember how to turn them off and OH MY GOD I'M MISSING THE GAMESHOW MARATHON.

OAF AWAY!

Oafacopter.

The Oaftenberg.

Yeah, James is taking his time with this first question.

But yeah, what was I saying? Oh yeah. I installed those mods and they crashed it and then didn't play it for a while... and I really can't be arsed to remind myself how to go and turn them all off. Plus fuck it, I have DA now. That'll do.

Really want Order 1886, but I can't seem to find a retailer offering the game at a decent price. It's like £44-50 everywhere.

May want to hold off of that... reviews are coming in for it now, and they're pretty poor. The general view from what I've seen is that yes, it's pretty much the best looking game ever and has a decent story, but the gameplay is abysmally limited. And, obviously, the short game time doesn't help matters.

But then again, I seem to remember that Beyond: Second Soul had pretty much the same reviews, and I thought that it was superb. I guess you just have to take it for what it is; an interactive movie, rather than go into it assuming it's a regular type of game.

Still though... it was one of the few PS4 exclusives that really had my interest. Guess my wait to get a PS4 goes on... can't be too long now until Uncharted 4, can it?!

I don't take much notice of reviews these days. I'm still gonna buy it.

The Order has been hammered for its short campaign and most of the game consists of cutscenes

Videogamer - 6
GameSpot - 5
Polygon - 5.5
Destructoid - 6
IGN - 6.5

No multiplayer either, i'll pass.

do we need multiplayer in everything? Even fucking TLOU had multiplayer!

To be honest, I actually thought that TLOU's multiplayer was alright. Sure, it was unnecessary and hardly something I found myself addicted too, but it was unique enough and a good bit of fun for a while.

Not entirely sure how scripted it is, but the gunfight in this looks fantastic.

Agreed. Especially in an open world game or a story-driven game, seems like a waste of development time.

As Oaf said though, TLOU multiplayer was surprisingly good.

I think multiplayers hard to do 'right'
I mean in the sense that unless its either original or THE best at what it does, not many people are going to stick with it.
Like Uncharted 2 and 3 both had perfectly fine, functional multiplayer modes but no one ever mentions them because I guess there were better options.
In contrast, people raved about Spec Ops: The Line which had completely bland gameplay but a decent story. It also had multiplayer which nobody ever metions because it was functional but nothing special.

...Spec Ops had multiplayer?!

As somebody who completed that game, if you'd asked me just now whether the game had multiplayer or not, I'd have said no. That about sums up how much that game needed it.

You got me worried I was wrong then Oaf,
Just had to check haha, but that's my point, it had MP, nothing actually wrong with the MP but as it doesn't stand out no one even bothers with it

That'll roll around before you know it.

I still want to replay MGS4 before it comes out, plus I sort of want to play Peace Walker on the MGS HD collection as well. Should be able to fit it all in before then...

I remember that I started doing a no alerts/no kills play through to unlock something (think it unlocked Stealth camo?)... got as far as the jungle bit then just never went back to play it again...

Anyway, Rock Band 4 has been made official now. I absolute LOVED Guitar Hero when it first came out. GH 1-3 were all fantastic, Rock Band 1 and 2 were superb and I did love the Metallica and Beatles versions... but in the end that market was just absolutely drowning in releases.

Just looking it up... in the 5 years between 2005 and 2010 when GH games were coming out, there were 12 games released on just the consoles. That's without even mentioning the 10 more released on DS/iOS/arcade and whatever. TWENTY TWO TITLES IN FIVE YEARS!

And then there was Rock Band... Rock Band got involved in 2007 and released six console games between then and 2010. Plus four portable games, and obviously a whole lot of DLC.

So... between 2005 and 2010, THIRTY TWO titles were released in five years. Six and a half games per year. It's no wonder that market got over saturated...

But yeah, before it got to that stage, I did love those games. And, after as many years with zero releases (well, Rock Band Blitz came out in 2012, but that was a bit different) I think that the world is probably about ready for Rock Band 4 now. Plus, they're actually making some good moves...

Firstly, all DLC from previous games carries over. Which is cool, because I bought a fair bit!

Also, while it's difficult for them to make it so that the instruments from last gen will work on the XBONE/PS4, they are trying to develop some kind of device that can be plugged into a current gen console to allow the old stuff to work. So if you've still got a fuck load of room being taken up by those instruments (as I have!) that space hasn't been entirely wasted, it seems.

And finally, and probably most importantly, they don't intend on doing a Rock Band 5 at all. They want to release Rock Band 4 as a platform and then anything else they ever do in the series will simply be released as DLC for it. So yeah, there should be a fair few less releases then last time around...

DMC: Definitive Edition comes out tomorrow
Basically an updated version of DMC but they changed some of the annoying shit (30 fps, weapon specific enemies)

I'm waiting for someone to bring out a new boxing game for the PS4. I'm not holding my breath though.
