Beaten by the better side on the night, should have been 4-0 down after 15 mins. Millwall are the best side we've played this season i think.

Poor from us, didn't do the things we had been doing and maybe coming up against a good side so soon after the efforts of Saturday took it out of us I don't know.

Millwall you have to give credit too, reminded me of Preston of the last couple of seasons, very organised, kept the ball well and very physical and bullied us a bit so could see why they do well away. Best side we've faced by a mile all season in the league.

We need to pick up again really and I just felt we were so flat tonight. No one had a real bad game as such but as a team it wasn't great at all.

As good as we were on Saturday we were as bad today. 2-0 flattered us, it should've been at least 2 or 3 more goals to Millwall. Hopefully this was just a collective off day and we'll get a good response from them at Bury on Saturday.

I can understand not wanting to change a winning team but you also need to freshen things up a bit. The Wigan game was a very tough one no matter how well we played and to me the side just looked tired tonight, and that's not taking anything away from Millwall at all. But they had a stroll in the park on Saturday against Crewe, who I think even the Renford Rejects would batter right now.

I'm worried by the fact we've conceded two goals from corners in the two games. Very uncharacteristic of the new look back line and needs addressing fast.

Tonight's performance was more like last seasons Vale. Slow build up play with little end product in the final third. Lost to the better team. Millwall will go up this season.

Millwall were good, the best team we've played so far by a distance, fair play to them. We never got going at all. Interested to see how we bounce back now.

3-1-0 away, 0-0-3 at home. Southend visit on Saturday. I shan't hold my breath.

Well beaten by a better team last night. The system they played meant they dominated midfield, our 2 were outnumbered time and time again. Millwalls number 6 impressed me and played the game at walking pace.

Worrying that they aren't a particularly big side, yet they were first to pretty much every set piece they had. Can't remember too many chances from open play. Need to sort that out quick.

I'm not going to say we had an off day or anything like that, Millwall were just simply far better than us in every department. They were so quick on the attack the first 20/30 minutes we didn't know what hit us and were more than lucky not to be 3 or 4 down. We then changed something and those attacks stopped raining in as often, but then Millwall just didn't let us settle or didn't allow us any time on the ball.

They were comfortably the best team I've seen us play this season so far.

Ah well, if we had to get a pasting by someone at least it wasn't by Swindon.

Err, but we did though. That was clear to see.

Had we been anywhere near out best it would still have been a difficult game though after the effort against Wigan a few days earlier. We were poor, Millwall were excellent. Would it be a surprise to anyone if the roles were reversed when we play them at the Den?

They look a side that is good when it has to be organised, at home they will be set up different I imagine which might suit our system to play against, time will tell, they pretty much did to us what we've done to a few teams this season in fairness.

Can someone explain to me how a club so inspirational to the sport of football such as Port Vale are only in 14th place?

Football is operated using a points based system. Over the first 7 games, we've accrued 9 points, which is the 14th best tally of points in league one. Is there anything else you need explaining? The direction to the Championship forum perhaps?
