The value of the squad is usually approximated in a club's accounts as assets. Think ours was £25m last out, but that will have increased by now. The current squad cost about £30m in fees to put together, £20m of which was spent this summer (and immediately crocked).

Those two are pretty sensible valuations - what's the issue with them?

You could probably shave a couple of million from the Jones valuation but he is a young, capped English centre back so £20m isn't far wrong.

Below is around what I believe they're worth, not what the club would need to be offered before they'd sell them. For example, this time last season I certainly wouldn't have said Sterling was worth £50m, nor do I believe for a minute the club would sell Coutinho for £25m.

Clyne - £15m
Enrique - £5m
Toure - £2m
Lovren - £8m
Milner - £5m
Benteke - £20m
Coutinho - £25m
Firmino - £15m
Gomez - £10m
Henderson - £15m
Sturridge - £20m
Sakho - £10m
Moreno - £8m
Lallana - £10m
Lucas - £8m
Mignolet - £8
Allen - £10m
Origi - £5m
Ings - £5m
Ibe - £10m
Bogdan - £5m
Skrtel - £10m
Flanagan - £8m

Total = £234m

Is that an impression of me when I read Lukaku valued at £35m? If so it's accurate. :hypo:

£5m is far further from his valuation than £20m is. He might have had serious injury issues over the last 18 months but he's hardly over the hill at 26. If he can put these issues behind him he's virtually guaranteed 15 league goals a season, and likely over 20 in all competitions.

There's a reason Chelsea let him go. He's never going to play a full season again. £5mil is the value I think, obviously Liverpool wouldn't sell.

Chelsea didn't let him go because of his injury record lmao.

Chelsea letting him go had naff all to do with injury issues, it's simply what they do if they think a player won't be fully utilised. Look at De Bruyne. Agree to differ, he's worth a minimum of £15m for me, purely because he guarantees goals when he plays.

Just can't see anyone paying that much for either of them. If you look at teams like City, Arsenal, Chelsea, or even Spurs I don't think either would get in their squad. I wouldn't replace Sakho or Skrtel with Jones for 20 mil either. If Jones is 20 million, how much would Kos be? I would rate Jones at around 12 mil and Blind at about 8-9 mil.

I'm not sure, if any club paid that for him they'd be a laughing stock. If he stays injury free for a couple of seasons then yes he'll be worth a shit load, he's an incredible striker. But his recent comeback was meant to be the last one after all this miracle cure surgery in the USA, a couple of weeks back and boom he's out again.

You guys got one good season from Van Persie and got 27 mill for him. Sturridge is still worth more than that when fit.

On that basis what is Aguero worth do you think?

Aguero plays more and spends much less time injured. So it's hard to say. With his Hollywood name and fantastic goal record, probably worth a £25mil punt. Keeping in mind he's a better striker than Sturridge.

Excatly, "when fit". Which at the moment is hardly ever.

I'm aware he's a better striker, but you claimed that Sturridge's value is jack shit because he'll never played a full season and spends a lot of time injured. Hence my Aguero question. If Sturridge wasn't injured so much, he'd be worth more than the £20m I stated. It sounds like you've written him off.

And for me Aguero even with his injury issues would be £35m-£40m.

I know you're aware, was just making the point for the higher valuation. Don't get me wrong, I like Sturridge and would love him to succeed at club level as well (more importantly for me, for England).

Is that Ageuro valuation what you believe he's worth, not what the club would need to be offered before they'd sell them? Not sure about you, but I could see Real Madrid offering £60mil+ for him.

Transfer Markt have him up for £17.5mil, that was from the 1st July though when he was due back for good. Upon the next update I'd say it'll drop to £10mil.
