Given the nature of the job, nothing to stop Valdes giving an interview, how many times have we seen/read stuff like that down the years? Not exactly a one-off case.

I didn't say it was a one-off case or single out LVG as the only perpetrator of this behaviour. I asked the person who was pleased to see a manager refrain from being PC if he would be pleased if his employer went out, gave his side of the story, and publicly scolded him over a disagreement? It's not a question of being PC; it's a question of being a reasonable human being. These tiffs should be left in private.

He was asked why Valdes was left out of the tour and said why. Don't see the problem at all.

Erm, that's quite revisionist - http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ects-victor-valdes-to-leave-manchester-united. He also insinuated that Valdes refused to play for the reserves. The large data of information available allows us to see that Valdes has played matches for both the reserves and u-21's in his brief time at Old Trafford.

Contrast that with his labeling of Schweinsteiger's performance last night as "bad" http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ticises-bastian-schweinsteiger-after-tour-win, which is the sort of blunt speak that I admire about LVG - not giving a player a negative personality reputation while withholding key information. There's a difference between being a straight-shooter and being an arse.

I don't see what van Gaal has said wrong in the article you posted. Unless he's lying, but I can't see why he'd want to do that when it'd be beneficial to keep Valdes around with the De Gea situation.

According to Carlos Quieroz David Moyes and Louis van Gaal made 'critical and crucial mistakes' since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Don't think any of Ferguson's signings justified the price they paid since Carrick.

Smalling is well on his way to justifying his outlay.

I'd argue Nani and Valencia justified theres as well. Had they continued to perform as they did at their best they would have looked like bargains.

Both have been our player of the year. Both had multiple season where they were amongst the best attacking players in the league. Nani's was preceeded by some good games as a youngster where he was in an out of the team whereas Valencia has developed into a decent squad player following his decline.

For just under 20 million each they I wouldnt class either as a major flop or success they just about justified wwhat was spent.

It's not a good record though, that's for sure.

I agree with this.

I think the only transfer mistake SAF made in his final couple seasons was leaving the center midfield in that condition - to this day, it's still lacking relative to Chelsea, Manchester, City, and Arsenal. Moyes and LVG both have made mistakes while trying to address this, too. Schneiderlin is an immediate improvement two seasons too late. I've made my feelings on Schweinsteiger known and Hererra, despite the obvious talent, doesn't seem to fit right now. I'd like to see him partnered with Schneiderlin and Mata given a role where his talent isn't marginalized.

It's all the more unforgivable on Bacoin Face's behalf given how good Pogba has become and how shit United's midfield has been for years.

I love his interviews when he's had a few too many glasses of wine.

Watched 'Dream Debuts' the other night on ITV4. There was a segment where Tino Asprilla scored a hat-trick against Barca, managed by a certain LVG, some things never change. :fish:

Klopp should have you above us in no time then, being the messiah and all!
Van Gaal is the bigger messiah according to United fans though. Although we will be above United easily next season, that is Van Gaal remains United manager.

Is he? Sounds like a sweeping generalisation to me! He has certainly achieved a lot more than Klopp has in his career, that much is true.

Liverpool fans tend to refer to managers as messiahs, God-like figures etc. Newcastle fans every now and then.

It's always next bloody season with you!

The Hype surrounding Van Gaal was much much bigger than Klopp back then. I still remember United fans going crazy after he won the friendly cup. I think most Liverpool fans have been realistic with Klopp.

United are surely the worse team to watch this season, and I include Chelsea in that. He has a lot to answer for, surely no one associated with the club is happy with the mundane crap he serves up.

Surprising that someone of your technological knowhow would have such a bad time with hardware and autocorrect software.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

I've not really followed much about Klopp, but the radio see waxing lyrical about him today. But FFS... The hype when LVG arrived. Remember the frothing praise and adulation for swapping a 'keeper before a shootout? It was like he'd walked on water.

The hype for Klopp has been much more OTT. BT must've had the camera on him for 85 of the 90 minutes of his first match in charge.
