All of the Prem u21 sides lose on first day, some of them thrashed.

Why are they bothering?

Because it’s a (sort of) competitive game that their parent club doesn’t give a shit about (as in, there’s no real pressure or downside if they lose), other than the chance to see their youngsters in action v senior pros?

Otherwise EPL kids will rarely if ever get a shot at first team football unless they go on loan.

Most of the league clubs put out the stiffs too these days, now they’ve heavily relaxed the number of established first teamers that have to start the game.

Most Prem u21 are very weak at this time of year due to loaning several of their better players to league1/two teams
Every year i see fans moaning on here about boycotting this cup,yet it their only chance of winning a trophy.
If league one and two clubs want to hurt the premier league teams they should ALL agree to stop taking players on loan.

Quite right we have had some brilliant players in on loan and have one now in Duberry, but it is only helps Premier Teams long term
Look at James Trafford would he have played in the premier league without first team experience with us..........Been sold twice since leaving us for nearly 40m
How much of that did we get......yep a big fat zero.
Chelsea have 8 keepers including one with us.
It is pure greed

I dont buy the chance of Wembley thing anyway. We have been 5 times. Meh.
And it would be 7 games before we got there, 7 chances of players getting injured. At least with the carabao there's the possibility of higher league opposition.
Its only good for giving fringe or returning players a run out, in my opinion.

You set the bar very, very low.
Caraboa cup say you get Arsenal like we did last season........Stadium is half full say 40k and you get hammered by the reserves what is the point
