Virus from 1FF?

Is this even possible? Last two days or so, I started getting randomly redirected to some horrible porn site. This is about the only site I look at on me phone. And I just got a notification saying the last site I visited (this one) has given my device a virus.

What's going on?

I've had absolutely nothing and I use this place on my phone nearly constantly. Can definetely look into it but it's almost impossible that you can get a virus from a website without clicking links to take you away from this site. When you get a virus, they want to mis-direct you and make you believe you got it from a different place than you actually did, so you go back to the site and get infected again.

My phone is Android, the browser is just called Browser. It's happening on my laptop also though, and both started at around the same time.

Last couple of days I've been staying in a guesthouse here and have been using their wifi. Could it be summat to do with that? Just weird how both devices have been infected at the same time. Like I said, this forum is about the only site I look at on me phone. On the laptop, it sometimes happens if I click on what looks like an empty part of the screen. Fuck knows.

By horrible, I mean that it randomly takes me away from here and other sites and to some site I have no interest in looking at. I've not left it open long enough to see what genre their content is.

If your Android has picked up some malware add-in that's hi-jacking (sounds like it), a factory reset of the browser should clear it out. It will mean you lose bookmarks or stored passwords etc, but sounds like it's worth doing in your case.
